“I NEVER leave reviews, but this place is awesome ! The mashed yuka & plantain is absolutely fabulous & only made better with the chicken on top.The mango juice (they make in house) is scrumptious & very addictive.I live an hour away & was visiting friends in the area....& I'm definitely gonna plan to see those friends more often, so I can eat here regularly.ITS GOOD !”
“This little gem was a great find! My boyfriend has been to Haiti and I’ve been to Jamaica and this place had a nice blend of both.We had the legume stew with rice and beans; the Ke Bef (oxtail) and the chicken pate. Everything was amazing. Nice blend of spices. This was my first time trying oxtail and I will definitely be eating it again. It was so tender and the sauce was incredible.Jonas, the owner, was so nice and chatted with us during our visit. He makes you feel welcomed and takes good care of his customers! We will definitely be back!Vegetarian options: They have fried green plantains and salad.Parking: Free large parking lot.Kid-friendliness: If kids like this kind of food, they will love it!Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room for a wheelchair.”
“This is the place to go to for great process and quality and quantity of food. Everyone is very nice and the owner Roger takes a lot of pride. The place is constantly expanding as it becomes more popular. Love this place.Parking: It's a right for most of the time as this place is very popular but there will be a place you can find.”
“Love love, love the food from this family they are very sweet and clean and the food was delicious. Me and my husband enjoyed it so much and actually it was quite reasonable and we saved part of it and didn’t eat it for two days later you know, I kept it in the fridge, but it was still so delicious in that butter sauce that they use for the shrimp. I don’t know if they use it in the crab bags but let me tell you, it was delicious and I really really like supporting this family. They’re very nice people. Also I forgot to take a picture of the food because we ate it fast so next time I’m there I’ll get some pictures. Lol”
“Nice little doughnut shop and way better than those brand name over priced chain brand doughnut shops. I would rather give my money to this shop than be ripped off by big chain stores. This store serves so much more than pre-froozen microwave doughnuts or those raw doughnuts from that other overpriced stores.”
“Don’t drive too quickly or you may miss this quaint little sandwich shop. When inside you will see a small seating area and kitchen with friendly people. I ordered the special, Cuban sandwich with fries”, but was told they were out of fries. I opted for their other special, Cuban, chips and a drink. This sandwich was filled with great ingredients and it is a heavy sandwich by weight. Some sandwiches opt for one ingredient over another, while this was evenly proportioned. Very tasty and a good value for the price. Definitely stop in and give it a try- pretty sure you will leave happy.”
“The Island Jerk Shack is a culinary gem near my office, offering a taste of the Caribbean. The owner's warmth matches the food's spice. Thursdays feature irresistible Mutton Curry, while the Jerk Pork reigns supreme on other days. Their Cucumber or Carrot Ginger Juice perfectly complements every meal. It's my go-to spot for authentic flavors and genuine hospitality.”
“At first Apple Maps sent us to the wrong location and we couldn’t find it. Please use Google maps. The food was very good! It was 10 of us and we decided to get a big platter with different meats and sides. Good prices and amazing flavor! They had enough seating for all of us. We will be back!”
“It is a great local spot with good vibes, good people, and great service. Typical bar food selection if you want a bite, but everyone is so friendly. I am definitely stopping in every time I am in the tampa ”
“Been coming here about every other week since I found it. Great menu, good prices, the ribs are the best I've had in a long time, the pulled pork is juicy and delicious, the beef brisket is smokey and super tender.Their vegetables and desserts are also fantastic.”
“For the most part, the food is good, but plantains were a little dry. Also, I ordered a turkey sandwich & it took the server quiet awhile to make it, I think that she was too busy talking with coworkers. Brewed ice tea would be a plus, for the restaurant to offer.Parking: Few parking shares lot with other businesses.Kid-friendliness: Families with children eat here sometimes.Wheelchair accessibility: A slanted walk area, a wheelchair could go in, but I haven't seen anyone there with a wheelchair.”
“My daughter and I love sushi! We have been trying to find a good place in the Seffner area for our "Daddy-Daughter" dates. This place is a hidden gem! It is very affordable, the food is great, the environment and service are great, and for some reason there are rarely many other people there. It has become one of our favorite places to go. Highly recommend!”
“Happy Easter Bunny. Seriously, we dined on Easter Sunday and Bunny was our amazing server!! We couldn’t figure out why we waited so long to return to one of our favorite spots. The grilled trout was delicious along with super fresh sides. Well Done! Be sure to ask for Bunny for a hoppin’ good time and make time for the gift shop. There’s always good early deals on gifts, that can be stored in your Christmas closet.”
“The owner was awesome! Gave me some words of Wisdom while I enjoyed the food. I'll keep that bird in my hand and won't worry about the rest flying. Thanks brother!”
“Maya & the manager Joshua Lockett were so helpful and prompt. My food was hot and ready and they were super professional and Kind. I will continue ordering from this location. 10/10”
