“Authentic. I visited twice. I had tacos that were delicious. They are very careful with food allergies and special diets.Dietary restrictions: They make awesome, safe gluten free tacos. I had black beans and rice tacos with beef and salsa Verde. Highky recommend. Also fresh tortilla chips.“
“Oh my gosh!!! We go to the location at the beach any time we are there. Our go to for tacos!! Yesterday we were in Old Town and decided to try that location for the first time. My husband and I were both amazed! Hate to say it but we both simultaneously stated how much better the tacos are at the Old Town location. MUCH more flavorful and full!!! Unfortunately the tacos at the beach location are a bit skimpy. This is now our new go to, AND it’s much closer to where we live! THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING LUNCH!!! ?“
“Guacamole is delicious, my husband loves the Carnitas, I tried The Sprout last time and LOVE it! I also love the St Augustine. Which is fried shrimp. So delicious and you can but beer or wine while you wait right next door.I tried the crispy pork fried rice taco, amazing! They are busy, because they are so good, so sometimes you have to wait, but it is worth it!Vegetarian options: The Sprout is wonderful!“
“Had my share of California Burritos, from Oceanside,Cali, all the way on the West Coast. But its been a good 12 years since I had one....until tonight, out here on the east coast in St Augustine....Yep, this is dead on a California Burrito!!! So so good!Stood in line for an hour and 30 minutes! Totally worth it“
“Great spot for yummy tacos, burritos and horchata! They have spicy ghost pepper queso and a spicy sauce you can add to your tacos. If you are looking for spicy and can't find it in Jax, come down to St. Augustine.Kid-friendliness: Casual bright colored old diner style.“
“I highly recommend Playa Chacmool to everyone, especially if you are looking for an authentic experience. Because that’s exactly what it is, from the amazing food, good music, and the beautiful Mexican culture. This family owned business not only gives you that, but makes you feel apart of the family while you are enjoying you time there. Please go and check it out, you will not be disappointed and will leave with an unforgettable experience.“
“We went to Casa Maya for our anniversary dinner last week while vacationing in Florida and discovered this amazing restaurant!! Fabian was our waiter and we could not be more pleased with the service, ambiance, and food! We enjoyed the seafood paella for two and it was exquisite! We also ordered the guacamole for appetizer and it came with salsa too as well as the best tortilla chips all freshly made. Best all around if you want to experience food made fresh and service by Fabian, who was a true gem. Ten thumbs up!! :)“
“Cute small eatery by where we're staying. Stopped in for lunch on the way back from the beach because we didn't want to pay to park & walk downtown area. I ordered the gringo style steak tacos and my friend ordered the birria tacos. Both were delicious. We also split a street corn that was good. The employee was very nice and service was very fast.“
“Love the art of the place, but more importantly the food. We got a chimichanga, street taco of chicharron and I got the cerdo plate, highly recommended if you're doing lazy keto. They allowed us a couple of substitutions at not charge. On Sunday they have a margarita pitcher at a good price, good for 4 glasses. It was not a super busy, so service was fast even outside. Price was fair. We will definitely come back! ???“
“We’ve been coming here for about 10 years, and they’ve consistently been very good the whole time. My wife and I went in tonight, and had another great experience. My wife’s grilled chicken taco salad was amazing - freshly made with a great shell. My beef chimichanga was excellent as well, with really tasty sauce. Homemade salsa never disappoints. Andres, a long time server, was friendly and attentive as usual. Take note that the menu prices are for cash payments. Credit cards will cost you an additional fee. Usually that’s a deal breaker for me, but not here - the food is too good to miss!“
“Seriously good authentic food in a nice quiet, clean atmosphere. By far the best refried beans I have ever had, tasty chile relleno and fresh rice as a side. Not to mention, super good salsa verde! I really enjoyed my take out lunch and look forward to returning to explore more menu options.“
“Yes,they're that delicious. Try the beef stew taco,a specialty,as recommended by our friendly and efficient server Holly. The place was packed at 6pm and now I know why. The full crew worked seamlessly together to provide a terrific experience. And fantastic prices.“
“This is our 1st time at this location, but the food & service was excellent as well. I LOVE their tacos & nachos. Always eat too much, but it’s so good it’s difficult to stop. BEST taco’s around, IMHO. Just wish they would open a location closer to where we live, near World Golf Village. ❤️“
“Had a great time with TJ and Anita earlier today while we were downtown. We loved the bar, very historic feeling and the mill itself is very interesting to watch from one of the tables. We liked the drinks we got, plus the music was pretty enjoyable. Great place for a date!“
“The food tasted good and had good portions. I got steak fajita and niece got chicken fajita. The service was so/so and it wasn't due to the fact we had a bad server. There just wasn't enough people working and our server was so busy bussing tables, seating people, taking their order, delivering food.. it was like he was the only server they had. Also the prices were OK but seemed a bit high when we asked for some cheese to go. Wasn't told there was an extra charge for what I consider a condiment to the meal which made it surprising. So would I go again, yes the food was good but be sure to ask if there is a charge for anything extra like cheese to go so you don't get surprised.“

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic eatery, and I must say, I was blown away by the tacos! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The vibrant decor and cozy ambiance set the perfect mood for enjoying some mouthwatering tacos. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the TACOS! The tortillas were soft and freshly made, holding together the delicious fillings with finesse. From traditional options like carne asada and al pastor to creative fusion creations, Taco Queen offers an impressive variety that caters to every palate. Don't forget the fried cheese on the taco! The friendly and attentive staff made the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were happy to offer suggestions and ensure that each guest felt like royalty throughout their visit. The menu also includes other delectable items like quesadillas, nachos, and fresh guacamole, adding to the feast of flavors.Another highlight of Taco Queen is their commitment to using fresh and high-quality ingredients. “I have to give five stars all the way to this place. The food was hot and did not take long to get food or drinks. Family owned and operated. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone there from owners on down hustle. Every Thursday all day, $2,50 margaritas. Looks like a day off. Big portion servings big “
“We had a craving for a really good taco upon arrival in St Augustine. Did a Google maps search for "tacos near me" and got lots of options, some close by. Checked out menus and reviews and chose Taco Libre #3. They were the furthest away at 21 minutes but well worth it. I was sold on it when I saw beef tongue as an option. Folks, don't let the name turn you off. It is the most flavorful and tender beef you'll ever eat... when it is done right. They do it right! I ordered one Lengua (beef tongue) and one Fiery Fish Tacos. My husband ordered the Pastor (pork) tacos. All were excellent. The fiery fish isn't fiery, but that's OK as it's flavor is fantastic. They serve chips and salsa upon seating. The service was impeccable, and everything was clean. The prices were also reasonable. I highly recommend a stop here.Parking: This is a huge restaurant with lots of seating. We easily found parking, but it was when they were not at all busy. I think it may be more difficult during busy times.“
“Awesome Mexican food. Everyone I bring here loves it. I get the fajitas or Carne Asada and it's delicious. Taco Tuesday is also a good deal and delicious! My wife is vegetarian and they have many options. The service is great too. It's a fun atmosphere for the whole family. Still loving this place!! At dinner for 3 for under 29 dollars including tip. We shared a huge portion of steak fajitas with a huge portion of rice and black beans. They give more meat with their fajitas than any Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten. So very flavorful and tender. My daughter has the French fries and always loves them!!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!“
“Mar 2024: Came here on Easter Sunday. Got seated on the 2nd floor outdoor area overlooking the bridge/water. It was an awesome view. We ordered the taquitos, ribeye, and short rib enchiladas. I would skip the taquitos next time. Also ordered the anejo old fashioned and mex-espresso. Drinks here are fantastic.“
“Upon entry you are greeted by very friendly staffs that assist us to our table. The place is enveloped in the atmosphere of somewhat really being in Mexico. The service was fast. We were given chips to munch in while they were taking the orders. The only thing that I didn't like is their sweet tea because it tasted bland but their food is quite good. I ordered the Camarones ala Diabla and I enjoyed the spicy shrimp and rice that was served.“
“This has got to be by far the best “Carne Asada plate” I’ve had ever since I’ve moved here to St. Augustine eight years ago.The meat was super tender, and seasoned perfectly right!. I am definitely coming back to this place and most important, I recommend this restaurant.“
“We are always on the hunt for a locally owned restaurant to try out. We stumbled on the Back 40 on the way to another destination. So glad we did. We ordered a grouper taco and a cuban sandwich. Both were delicious. If you're in St Augustine, you really should check this place out.“
“We’re walking back to our car and saw sign on sidewalk. We are ceviche fans so we went in to check it out.Talked with the co-owner/hostess. She is VERY personable, dedicated to one on one service, and rightfully proud of their fresh ingredients. Her husband is the chef.Ceviche (and other items - guacamole, salsa sauces, etc) are made by them on site. Food is made fresh at the time of order - not premade batches. We purchased mixed ceviche to go. Ate at home - delicious! We are going back to sample their great sounding Mexican breakfast items!“
