Don't miss West Palm Beach's top Mexican restaurants, as recommended by Restaurantji.
“Our first time here and definitely won't be our last! Just under 10 minute wait. Food and service were excellent!! Our server was wonderful and was very attentive. Exceeded our expectations. Wish more places operated in such manner. We will be back soon.Kid-friendliness: Family environment, definitely kid-friendly.“
“My family and I LOVED Rivales. It is hard to find fresh, Mexican restaurants that are not Tex-Mex, and this was the ideal place to eat. Awesome refried beans, homemade Margaritas, delicious chimichangas, and outstanding/friendly service by Brian!!! Rivales has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Palm Beach!!!“
“This is the spot for tacos if you want good, authentic, and fair priced food. They go above and beyond every time and it's a little family owned place. Hands down absolute best tacos in West Palm Beach. My girlfriend and I come here almost every Tuesday that we can and we are regulars here. This spot has a special place in our hearts. Everything on the menu is good and portions are amazing.“
“Best Mexican food in the US that I have ever had, and I have travelled around the IS trying many different highly rated Mexican food spots, this one still tops them. Only change I would add is for them to ensure chips are always fresh. It’s a 50/50 shot on whether or not you get fresh chips. As a last critique, they should use ribbed liners for their quesadillas in their to-go containers to prevent the quesadilla from getting soggy.“
“I have been coming here for years! Maybe once a year but when they first opened I was here at least twice a week! I personally know the owners and they are the absolute sweetest! It’s nice to come and see they have hired workers that mean things are going great for them! I had no doubt they will be still standing years to come in just happy to have a place so close to home as nice as black bean! The food and pastries and aren’t anything short of amazing! (If you’re in doubt get a burrito) but I promise you won’t be disappointed! Come support black bean if you love great food!“
“It's a very cute primarily takeout place but they have a few tables, apparently they serve breakfast but we had dinner there. My wife had the Cabo Baja tacos and she thought they were great and I had a wet burrito. They served our food with plastic utensils but that was fine. The quality of the food made up for the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this and I want to try it for breakfast sometime.“
“This is the only place in South Florida, possibly the whole East Coast, you can get an authentic Pombazo. My sister in law who grew up in Mexico city agrees they rock. The service here is always friendly and they give you realistic expectations on when your food will be ready, often having it out faster. I have called with last minute orders on multiple occasions and never got a single bit of attitude. Highly recommend.“
“GREAT burrito stuffed full of steak with 2 sauces, a little salad & grilled onions on the side. Burrito made while you wait so it’s fresh. Friendly staff. Wish the burritos came in a XL size. It was so good!Dietary restrictions: I’m lactose intolerate & was happy to see they keep the sour cream on the side & it’s optional for you to take it.Parking: The food truck is located in the parking lot of a liquor store but don’t be fooled the food is restaurant worthy“
“4/10/24 Delicious food, attentive friendly service and festive ambiance!I ordered my favorites! Watermelon Jalapeños margarita, cheese quesadilla and coconut tres Leches! All delicious!I was warmly greeted by Sofia.. I sat at the inside bar… she was extremely attentive and informative.. I love sitting at the bar.. just enough TVs to enjoy your favorite sporting event! The restaurant is spotless and has a festive vibe! I ordered , my food was brought to me piping hot by Ray! Another charming and professional staff member! The cheese quesadilla was a huge portion enough to share and so yummy -filled with melted cheese! Lots of sour cream and guacamole as toppings! The best part was the dessert- coconut tres Leches! Omg! Another huge portion and topped with fresh whipped cream and strawberries! Definitely don’t leave without ordering dessert! A delicious enjoyable lunch on my day off! I highly recommend!———————————————————————-May 2023-On an extremely busy Mother’s Day late afternoon (6pm) happy hour I found a seat at the outside bar. 1st time here since they opened. I was quickly welcomed and ordered my HH watermelon/ Jalapeño margarita. (Only $5.00) Ally certainly served me a delicious Margarita! She was attentive and always smiling.. After a day in Miami at the Marlins game I just wanted something lite.I ordered the happy hour cheese quesadilla ($3.00). It came out very quickly. It’s tiny and it came out cold and dried outI guess you get what you pay for… I was too hungry to send it back. They must pre make these and keep them under a heat lamp. It was very busy. Difficult for the kitchen to execute good quality food when they are extremely busy..Its a lively setting and it was cool outside. Looking forward to coming back and ordering a full dinner when they aren’t so busy.“
“The food here is phenomenal and I genuinely crave it every time I'm back in Orlando! The service is so fast, friendly and they always listen to additional requests to make sure they get your order right! They have a cute little sitting area where you can sit and eat if you wanted to relax or take photos. Really good for an after work bite! I recommend the flautas and Sopes! :)“
“I am Mexican, I have lived in West Palm Beach for more than 20 years, whenever I had cravings for a Mexican dish I preferred to cook it myself because the Mexican restaurants I had gone to had disappointed me, I had not found one that had the most authentic flavor, We loved EL MARIACHI restaurant, the flavor is authentic and delicious, the service was super good. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food!“
“Anita and Gilberto have a gold, mine, a friend from California referred me to Anita‘s Mexican Grill, here in West Palm Beach on Okeechobee Boulevard. The food is more authentic than any other place in West Palm Beach, it’s excellent and the people that work there are hard-working and the restaurant is very clean. I go now at least once a week and the first weekend went twice. You have to try it out, Christopher. .“
“This is place is very special. Stopped on a whim on a drive between Orlando and Miami. Extremely high quality food, and the tacos are served with a generous amount of fresh shredded Mexican cheese (not sure what specific cheese it was sorry!)There are no seats inside (I ate off the hood of my car) but it’s EXTREMELY clean and organized and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely come again! Best chorizo taco I’ve ever had.“
“Very good. I tried a few of the types of tacos. Favorite was birria de res. Tinga de pollo was a little bland, but they have 6 different hot sauces to choose from at no extra charge, so not an issue. I wish this place opened back when I lived nearby; I would have been here often. Give it a try!“
“We are in the area every year and have never gone here. We had new company with us this year and we gave this place a chance. My wife and I came away asking why did we never try this place it is right here! 5 adults and 1 child were in our group and everyone was absolutely amazed with our food! They accommodated our party on a very busy night and our food came out quickly. The service was amazing and pricing was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Mexican food. I know we will be back to try more of their offerings.Kid-friendliness: They had enough choices for a child to find something delicious to eat.“
“This food truck is located on military trail and cherry road. I arrived there yesterday at9:44pm and was not aware they closed at 9:30pm. They were already cleaning up and packing up. The owner and the staff were extremely courteous and still insisted on taking my order and making my food. My favorite item is the “flautas” (in English it translates to flutes- see photo). They are AMAZING. I love supporting local business. You MUST try this place out.“
“La comida es muy buena es uno de los mejores restaurantes mexicanos en el condado. Pero las meseras no atienden bien casi todas traen cara de amargada y les gusta atender mejor a los hombres que a las mujeres (Yo suelo visitar el lugar con mi esposo)“
“Food was amazing, fast, and affordable! Staff did not speak English but were willing to work with us through a translator and very patient. Being the only ones eating in - don't let that deter you - the highlight of our night was when they started a playlist of nothing but Backstreet Boys ?Would definitely recommend! And would go back!! Muchas gracias!Parking: Several spots in front of restaurant.“
“Absolutely obsessed with this place. So delicious and the best service. Since I found it, I’ve been here about 5 times. Best tacos in West Palm Beach. Get the chorizo tacos and chorizo quesadillas, make sure you add everything and choose the green salsa. You’re welcome.“
“Love the environment, grabbed some food and went inside the house which seemed almost like a speak easy, loved the art def a hidden gem a ifykyk type of thing… music was good vibes were awesome everyone was friendly l.. very creative establishment… my favorite was the Al Capone!! And absolutely obsessed with the coconut shrimp tacos!!“
“I love mexican food. My sister was visiting from mexico and i took her to eat some tacos but end up ! Ordering : #Sopes de barbacoa,#Nachos al pastor. We loved it and ate all our serving's.I took 2" Sopes" to go and my son loved it too.“
“That skirt steak dinner is Amazing it was soft not chewy who ever is in that kitchen cooking is doing it with love. There is also a greek place across the street that is amazing the food in this area is great. Staff was also great. Both great for dates but not full blown dinner parties due to limited seating. ??“
“Food was good but not as great as everyone makes it to be. I ordered a chicken, steak, and pork taco. Chicken and steak were good but the pork was all fat that I couldn't eat it. Once we got the bill I asked for 5 single dollars back so I could tip but she gave me a $5 bill back. Luckily I had change but she would have gotten more if I got singles back.“
“I believe they used to be over on Rosemary Ave, across the street from the Cheesecake Factory. The food is sooo good. Tastes like they have grandma in the back kitchen whipping a good home cooked meal. Highly recommended, can’t go wrong with anything you order. Service was exceptional as well. This place is officially my taco spot!“
“The burrito from is here is something I violently craved throughout my pregnancy. It is banging. So so so good. This is one place that I'll never forget from my time in WPB. If you're debating on getting food from here, just do it, you won't be disappointed.“
“Class A tacos. I've always sustained that the best tacos I've ever had are from Los Primos in Laurel, MD. Mi Patria just came pretty damn close. If you come here, get the tacos made traditional. There is no sense getting them made another way. No pics. A picture wouldn't do them justice. There are a lot of options in the area but these by far are the best in FL. If you want real tacos, made right, making you wanting to come back for more, this is the place.“
“Easy to miss restaurant when driving down Broadway. We come here every other week for a quick bite, we are local, the wait staff is quick and friendly. The food has always been delicious every time. The neighborhood is unsavory at times, so if you feel unsafe (I'm used to the riff-raff) it's best to order to go. But definitely worth a try!“
“FINALLY! We found some GREAT Mexican food that I didn't have to make myself. We had a Chicken Chimichanga and the Quail and Mexican Cokes (the good stuff!). The chicken was juicy and tender, perfectly cooked! My partner loved the spicy hot sauce. We arrived tired and hungry and we're cheered by the very homey atmosphere. Waitress patient and helpful.“
“Delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine that is fresh and made to order. Sometimes you can get tamales too, and they are some of the best I have had in a restaurant. The waitress is always friendly and tries to accommodate this Gringo, and she always accommodates me. I like this place and will always return when I get down that way.“
“While visiting Palm Beach with a group of 11 people, we ate at this really good Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was very happy and lively. Everyone enjoyed the entrée that they chose and the service was really good. If you are in Palm Beach, this is a great place to try.“
“We had a server named Meredith and she was very nice and gave the best recommendations. Even though my mom doesn’t speak much English, some way Meredith knew how to communicate well with my mother and was super patient. Best service. Food was spot on.“
