This restaurant is closed for good. It has been closed for quite a while and is being converted to a sushi restaurant someone needs to update this in TripAdvisor.

This place was very disappointing. Our first time ordering from there and we got tandoori chicken and chole bhature. They served us old and stale tandoori chicken and the chole were the canned chole. I expect fresh food when I order from a restaurant. Will not go there again.

Once upon a time, one of the best place.... i want to rate this as a restaurant with worst food.... I am posting this review after experiencing three times consequently....... GOOD BYE

I walked into this place and there was literally no one in it. It looked like a restaurant that was in the process of being built. I called out for someone 5 times. No one answered. "Hello, is anyone working here??" And no one came. But I could hear someone in the back. After standing there for 10 minutes, I was ready to leave, but finally someone came to give me service. For a restaurant that seems to have zero customers in it, the lack of service really doesn't help. Won't be back, it's not worth talking to an empty building to get subpar food. I would also like to point out that now my passenger seat is yellow bc their packaging was not good enough and some of the food spilled into my seat. There are much better Indian restaurants than this who will give proper service and take genuine care of its customers. Don't waste your time with this one

I like the food but it might be too hot/spicy for the typical American.

This restaurant is miserable. On more than one occasion I have placed orders with them and they have arbitrarily canceled orders, and claimed that the orders were never received even though they’ve personally taken the orders. They have charged my card and lied about the reason why the order cannot be fulfilled. With so many other good Indian restaurants in the area don’t waste your time here.

Not open between lunch and dinner and not available for dine in due to Covid despite Google Maps says open and dine in. Don't waste your time.

The good part: Clean and spacious. Attentive staff. Some feedback 1) hot chai should not be served in plastic cups. Please provide paper cups. Chai was also watery. 2) the paneer masala tasted like bits of paneer cubes floating in tomato paste. Absolutely lacked flavor. 3) peanut chutney had no salt 4) Sambhar was more like rasam/chaaru. It was super watery. Needs to be thicker and have some dal in it 5) baby corn/pakoras/dosas were oily 6) vegetable dum biriyani had no vegetables in it. 7) raita, some mint+ tamarind sauces for the starters, a dessert, an extra vegetable dish could be added. Very little variety for vegetarians.

If you are going to try this restaurant for the first time, save yourselves from the insults that the customer service/receptionist throws at the customer. Our first time experience at Godavari take-out was nothing but insulting and impertinent. We understand that COVID has impacted many restaurants including this one but we still wanted to give it a try even though they only had about 10 items (vegetarian) from their menu. So we call in and order for a takeout at about 7.30PM and we were told that the order will take about 25-30 minutes to be prepared. Since we were already in the area, I walked in 15 minutes early to see where things are and was encountered by the receptionist, and when asked about the food (infact i just gave him my name), I was told "you called 10 minutes back and i told you that it will take 30 minutes". I just didnt know what to say and just said okay and came out. This may not seem rude to people just reading from this review but the tone behind that comment from the receptionist was absolutely insulting. Now talking about the food, I understand the COVID impact and the management had to downsize a lot of things in terms of quantity, but why compromise on QUALITY. The taste was bad (never know you can screw up on Dal so bad) and the Naan was so hard that I had a bad jaw pain after eating through the Naan. I had no choice but to give the one star because the receptionist chose the option "No tip" while charging me for the food. Courtesy i guess!!!! And i had no option to give 0 stars. YELP, please change the option. And new/returning customers, if you still want to go there after reading this review or other reviews, GOD BLESS Y'ALL!!!!!!!

I would give a 0 star if possible or even negative. I have tried almost 10 times expecting each time it will be better. But I was disappointed all the times. And for the last time I was more than disappointed. I am angry and annoyed of their service. I am a kind of person who knows stuff happening in restaurant. I agree everything can't be prepared immediately as we make an order. Sometimes items may be of yesterday or mornings. I am completely ok with that . I have ordered chicken appetizer on Friday night expecting atleast they provide good chicken because of Friday night. But to my surprise, each chicken piece in dish which is deep fried is unable to bite, chew . When I tried open it into half , it is so black and looks like spoiled. I think these guys are serving more 2-3 day old chicken and deep frying several times. Dear Godavari guys, I only order from you even though you didn't taste good anytime because the name touches my heart . But you disappointed every time and this time I lost faith and never ever eat from you or recommend you. Guys, we are not eating for free. We are paying our hard earned money for this and is this what you gonna serve. P .S. I am not a person who reviews badly and this is my first review came out of my angry.

Sad to say that, biryani was very bad. No taste and no masala on chicken. This was not expected from Chef's Spl Vijaywada Chicken Dum Biryani. Hope this review reaches to the owner and chef.

The naan was really great to start along with the Paneer and 69 sauce. I wish I ordered more naan to go with my Kodi tandoori. Great takeout

Ordered takeout a month ago. Had chicken tandoori but it was completely raw inside. I could not eat it and had to cook it again in the oven. Tried a couple of curry dishes and they were OK. The following week i tried Spice Hut and the food there was cheaper and so good!

The environment is clean and the staff is friendly. Came in with a large and loud group and they were more then happy to accommodate. Food was amazing and will be coming back.
