Service was ok. Food was ok as well. I found it comical that with a $42 steak they give you literally ONE piece of brocollini. Steak was well done on one end and rare on the other. Waitress was a bit absent minded. Typical hotel restaurant.

Avoid the bar! We had dinner tonight and the food was really good but we had issues with the drinks. One of the featured cocktails is no longer available; our server said they no longer have the ingredients to make it and have taken it off the menu yet of course, it’s still printed on the menu.So I ordered one of the bourbons prepared as an Old Fashioned. The drink seemed to be just bourbon, simple syrup and maybe a dash of bitters with a garnish - no muddled fruit or granulated sugar on the bottom - but carried a $2 “cocktail charge”. And when the bill came I was surprised to learn I’d been served a double pour at a higher price because as the server said, “All of our cocktails require a 2 oz double pour!”.I spoke to the manager and he took off the extra charge, but overall the drinks just don’t match up to the food.

We had a fantastic dinner here last evening. The service was wonderful (Philip was great)! The food was absolutely delicious! We had fried green tomatoes, Wagyu steak, house salad with sautéed shrimp, all wonderful. The drinks were great too! Emanuel the manager came by to check on us, he is fantastic! He really knows how to run the show! Great restaurant!!!!

Upscale, modern place with an elevated southern dishes cuisine. Everything tasted great and was well presented.

Our experience was ok but did not meet our expectations. The food quality was lacking compared to the price. I am willing to pay for excellent service and quality but SCK did not fulfill either of these. I would not recommend this restaurant to friends looking for good dining experience.

We went to South city kitchen to have a date night and absolutely loved our food. The drinks were fantastic and our meals were delicious in our portions were generous. We will definitely be back.

I have been to South City Kitchen twice for dinner with friends. Each time the host and the servers were so kind and professional. The restaurant itself is so classy and elegant. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Still good but the menu is beyond tired. No reason to keep coming back when I've tried everything in the menu twice. Always good but please mix it up a little for the regulars!

Great food, great service! The Avalon location is very nice, especially if you would like to go for a walk after your meal. There are plenty of shops and also a movie theater just a few steps away.
I was surprised by this restaurant, but not in a good way. My husband and I went for a Valentine's Day dinner and we were really excited to try a new restaurant. Unfortunately, the food did not reflect the restaurant. The restaurant has a very nice ambience. The service was very nice And we have nothing to complain about there. They had a very wonderful staff. The restaurant was very nice and clean. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations for the prices and the scale of the restaurant. I had a Cajun pasta dish with crawfish in it and it was the smallest portion but the price was over $30. Additionally, it did not taste that well. The sauce to noodle ratio was off. It was a lot of sauce for the amount of noodles they gave me, my husband ordered a fried chicken dish that came with collard greens and mashed potatoes. The first time they brought out the plates his chicken was way overcooked and we had to send it back the second time they brought it out. It wasn't really any better, but he did not want to send it back again or complain about it. The mashed potatoes were subpar . Probably the best thing that we had while we were there were the biscuits and cornbread. For the prices they charge I feel like they should have much better food.
Service and food was great; however, the restaurant was not full but 2 tables next to us were sat after we were sat and those tables had young kids. It was Valentine's Day and just the 2 of us clearly on a date night was very disappointing...

South City Kitchen honors your reservation timely. The 3 piece jazz band is an added bonus. Their sound is great and just the right decibels to allow easy conversation. Enjoyable every visit.

Our server was extremely slow in everything, the wagu steak was like rubber and the server charged me $16 to add chicken onto my salad when the menu indicated it was only $10. She did have the manager remove $6 only after I had to argue with her about it. Over was just a great experience so we definitely will not be returning next time we stay in the Avalon hotel.
