My friend and I and our children decided to stop in for dinner. Not many patrons inside, and after our experience, I understand why. Most everyone at our table ordered sushi that was mediocre and had to ask for bowls for soy sauce. I ordered the filet mignon hibachi. It came with a lukewarm miso soup that was not palatable and salad drenched in dressing. The meat was not filet mignon; it's my fave cut of meat so I know for a fact that wasn't what I received. The meat was tough and drenched in some sort of brown sauce I've never seen in hibachi dishes. The vegetables likely only saw the grill for 30 seconds; they were barely cooked at all. I also watched an employee use her bare hands to add salad to bowls and served to patrons. The lettuce was not cold like you'd expect it to be; it was slightly colder than room temperature. We will definitely not return to this establishment.

The food was ok. However, this restaurant is very poorly managed. I typically do not write bad reviews on restaurants however this experience was just pretty gross. The bathrooms - nasty. Bus tubs filled with dishes from lunch in sight of guests. My mom and I both ordered beer- warm.

Ordered some to-go from there last night. It was extremely bland. There wasn't nearly enough seasoning on the food. The hibachi chicken and shrimp looked like they were boiled and then tossed in a bland sauce. The sushi rolls were mediocre and bland. The miso soup was weirdly sweet. You'll be better off ordering from the mall food court than here.

They literally argue with you if they get your order wrong. Tried takeout since the restaurant looked pretty rough. Never again. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I was teetering between 4and 5 stars. And it would be petty to to give 5 stars. Only thing negative to say is restaurant is a bit dated. However, as skeptical as I was. Our food was delicious. We frequent another hibachi place that is much more fancy. The flavor here is just a tad better than even there. My son loved his chicken hibachi. He has had hibachi at many different places... For him to give it good reviews that are saying something. I got a sweet mango roll which was delicious as well. Lastly our table was clean. And our waitress was a very nice. We enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent sushi, gréât lunch specials. Owner is the chef and his girlfriend runs the dining room. We love going there.

Tried to go to this place to eat today. The restaurant was disgusting. Looked like it hasn't been cleaned in years.. very disappointing. We left. Cleanliness is important in a restaurant.

Ume was previously a Ru Sans Japanese sushi buffet that we had enjoyed. We had not been to Ume so we gave it a try. Buffets are a thing of the past in this C-19 world so the freedom of choice is now limited to a menu. At least there is eat-in here. We had a calamari appetizer which were the size of onion rings and very chewy. It did come with a couple of flavorful dipping sauces. We ordered a couple sushi rolls and they were average. I had a ramen tempura dish and the ramen bowl was delicious. The broth was very savory and the noodles and veggies were perfect. My wife had a vegetarian dish which was also on point. The server was nice and the atmosphere appealing. A bit pricey compared to the old Ru San buffet.

To be fair, I haven't ever tried the sushi here and given the menu that may be their specialty. Really nothing special. I'd compare it to any other Chinese place in the area, there wasn't anything particularly noteworthy about it. I love Gyoza, theres were definitely fine. Also wend with the edamame appetizer and fried rice with noodles but everything was pretty generic "food court" Chinese food. Wasn't bad, the chicken was a bit tough and stringy but otherwise my only complaint is that it was indistinguishable from every other Chinese place in the area.

We used to love coming here for the buffet. Hopefully COVID will end and they open it back up. Service is slow now and food is expensive for what you get.

Excellent sushi, everything so fresh, beautiful presentation and great service! A nice surprise in a strip mall space.

Excellent service, exceptional sushi. This is a hidden gem. I have eaten at many of the sushi restaurants in the area and UMI hands down beats them all. I've been here several times. The presentation and quality of seafood is spot on. If you are looking for a great sushi / hibachi / tempura experience at a reasonable price then try them out.
