“We have meeting here 15 to 20 woman once a mo. We have a waitress Gail, she is great! Some times the mashed pot. are cool, but most of the time every thing is good. I get the Salmon or chopped stk.Wheelchair accessibility: Front door is not for wheel chairs“
“Best quality food. Full of flavor and inexpensive which is rare these days. Check out the express menu! Will post a pic. My favorite breakfast place in athens so far! The sausage gravy is made with chicken and it’s the best I’ve had and not greasy! Don’t miss this place of you visiting!Parking: Not many but dirt lot to the right and asphalt behind but requires about 100 steps to get there. There’s one handicap spot and a few regular spots right next to it.Wheelchair accessibility: In the single handicap spot.“
“Great ambience, especially for a Sunday afternoon. Seated right away. Food was good but the grits are a very small serving. The omelet was tasty and overall pleasant. Nice brunch or date spot. Go for the setting, moderate price point, and the food is decent.“
“Oh my, my my how it has changed since the last time I ate there. The service was waaaay more friendly than it was 3 maybe 4 yrs ago, maybe longer. I hadn't ate there in YEARS the man was so hateful & rude. Now tho, the food is so good I couldn't stop eating even when I got full & the atmosphere is way better. Little creepy cause it was almost like stepford wives cause they smiled so much and almost was to much , but I'd rather to much smiling over rudeness anyway. Definitely gonna start going bk“
“Ponko chicken is one of my absolute favorite hidden gems in the Athens area! The crispy chicken is phenomenal and always a hit with the fam! Not to mention the impeccable atmosphere and hospitality that is there everytime we go. Perfect for any event that you need a quick dinner on the go for.“
“Love the fresh veggies that can be grilled. Just feels like a more healthy alternative to all the fast food options. One thing I would love to see that would make this super fantastic is add cauliflower rice as a base for those who are eating low carb. Food is so good, I highly recommend.“
“Awesome all-around experience. Walking in, you are greeted with a smile from the sign atop the building, which is cool, but even cooler when the staff were smiling and friendly. Zac with a K, the manager, is a home run hit for this place. Treats you like your the most important friend in the world. I work for the railroad, so I am on the road and eating out all the time. This is by far one of the best establishments I have frequented in my traveling career. The food was healthy clean eatz with full on flavor. I was only in Athens for 8 days and ate there 5 times. That's how good the food was. Definitely check this place out!“
“First visit to Gusto! and I was impressed by the service and food. The dining space seemed a bit cramped but it was well maintained and well lit. We grabbed food to go so it's a bit of a moot point. In fact, the lighting in the restaurant is one of the factors to catch my eye. It sounds strange, perhaps, but every time I pass the restaurant at night it looks much more inviting than the neighboring spots.Gusto! Also has plenty of outdoor seating that I intend to try out once the weather is a bit warmer. The food was delicious, fresh and ready to go so quickly that I hadn't even paid for it when it was available. The portions were good sized- the bowl filled me up- and the ingredients were well balanced. While the menu appears limited, there is plenty of variety. I especially appreciated the opportunity to choose from several bowl bases and the ability to customize my meal with add ones such as fresh avacado. The person taking orders was friendly and helpful to an absolute newbie. They made some great suggestions.Loved that I could obtain a fresh and filling meal for less than $15 (bowl and no drink since I was headed home.)I'll definitely be headed to Gusto! again.“
“Came here this week and got seated right away because it was UGA's spring break and we opted for greenhouse seating outside. For appetizers we had crab cakes and it's the best crab cakes I've ever had. Not much bread filling probably all crab meat! For my entree, I had the trout and corn grits. It's the best grits I've ever had and I normally do not like grits!! It also came with okra. Everything was cooked to perfection. For dessert I had the peach cake. I had a bite and took the rest home. I finally got around to finishing it two days later (stored in the fridge of course) and it was even more delicious!! I want to come back here! It was recommended by my co worker and I will now recommend it to anyone going to Athens!! *chefs kiss* Also The greenhouse was comfortable to sit in this was about 7pm at night, second week of March and weather was 60s. A small heater was provided but not needed. There is a similar concept in downtown Atlanta but instead of a greenhouse it's an igloo and honestly this greenhouse was wayyyy better. I was more comfortable because there was better airflow and sound acoustics was not annoying.“
“Took my friend to Catch 22 earlier this week for the first time and Really enjoyed everything from the food to the staff. I can’t believe it was my first time going there as I have only heard Great things and I will definitely be going back soon. Bryan Whitlock“
“Went to Clocked for lunch Sunday, had the garlic and provolone burger special, with tater tots and feta dipping sauce. Had the Carrie Miller cocktail. Was very impressed with everything. Our waiter was awesome. He had curly hair and was very attentive. So glad we stopped!!“
“First time here - I've been missing out! Definitely a hidden treasure of Athens! I had the fish (tilapia) sandwich with onion rings - perfect! The ambiance here is great for a business lunch, family gathering or even a quick bite. Worthy of mention is the service - AWESOME; very focused on customers being satisfied. As a close friend of mine always says "I'll be BACK"!!!“
“The food is fresh and so so good! I had the coconut macadamia nut crusted fish dish and it’s was excellent! My husband had the wasabi fish sandwich and loved it as well. The food was plated beautifully too! We will be back!! ❤️❤️❤️“
“Chantelle is *the* best server--attentive, funny, and so real. The music is always top notch too! Can't say enough about the beer. Always have at least 2 stouts on tap, which I feel like not a lot of breweries do! Love Akademia, it's an Athens staple.“
“The food is really good! Lots of options. You definitely never have to eat the same thing twice. The food is hot and fresh.Service is good. The menu can seem a little overwhelming at your first visit. Just ask, they will be happy to explain. They also have menus at the register. The atmosphere is okay. Limited indoor seating and it's kind of a cafeteria feel. They do have outdoor seating if the weather is nice.Vegetarian options: 95% of the menu is vegan! They have some meats and she said the Mac n cheese was not vegan.“
“The customer service here is unbeatable. All employees are so polite and go the extra mile for their customers. They even let me come 5 minutes after closing time to pickup a medicine I really needed, which I certainly did not expect to happen. Hard to leave ADD drug without a smile on your face.“
“Amazing service! They were able to accommodate our party of 30 ppl the same day in a secluded section of the restaurant! We arrived 30 mins early, and they were already setting the tables for us.From the hostess to the server to the manager, every interaction was pleasant and professional. We could not be happier with our experience.“
“Raffertys is great! I had never been here before and a friend said we should go!! Our server was so nice and I had a blast!! The steak was cooked perfectly! Medium rare! And the mushroom appetizer was delicious! Not to mention I was able to peer up and see the scores of the games on about 50 different tvs there! I had a really good time!“
“Really intimate restaurant with low lighting and vintage decorations. Food options are fairly limited. We enjoyed the fish & Chips but were annoyed to be charged $1 for an extra tiny serving of tartar sauce for a two piece serving of fish. Cocktails were potent & good but extremely expensive and really small. Service was good.“
“I am honest and admit it all. I was forced to eat here. Mind you, I don't mind spending money in upscale restaurants, but refuse to be part of the Apple phone, Starbucks, etc followers of what everyone else buys or drinks. I thought this was another high price "be seen" place. Boy I was WRONG!!!! THE Italian was fresh, full of flavors, high quality ingredients, happy friendly staff, clean, great atmosphere, just a wonderful experience. $50 for 3, but the experience was a can't wait to return one and plenty of food!! Can I get a cheaper sandwich? Yes of course! Can it compete with these ?? NO! Thank you all!“
“Our favorite restaurant in Athens, by far! Service and food have always been top notch. I love that the owner mingles with the patrons. It is quaint and has a wonderful vibe. We love having a variety of things to try that comes with a tapas menu. The pimento cheese crostini are my favorite, with the okra and sliders a close second - simply delicious. The restaurant has a bar downstairs with a more casual atmosphere. My husband and I would love to eat here more often if parking weren't such a challenge, but that's part of being in such a charming and popular area of town!“
“My husband and I recently discovered this place and fell in love! He can't have gluten due to Celiac Disease, and they accommodated him so beautifully and in such a friendly way that we felt like honored guests instead of the problem table due to his food restrictions. We have gone in or ordered out several times and have loved every part of the experience, from the amazing food (our stockings were packed with their packaged foods this year), to the cozy and elevated atmosphere, to the top-notch service at all times.I'm so saddened that this place is closing down. If love and tastiness could save them, they'd be open until kingdom come. The beautiful gluten-free fried chicken, creamed sweet potatoes, pepper jelly pecans, and cheese straws will live rent free in my mind for all time, and if they ever sell anything at a market or open up another project, I know we will give them our support! Thanks for everything. Dietary restrictions: ?Their menu boasts many gluten-free options, and I'm not saying just a salad, minus the croutons - there's actual fried chicken, cheese straws, wonderful sides, and expressing dietary restrictions has always been met with seriousness and care. This place is a Celiac's dream.“
“It's a waffle house, just good waffles and hash browns. Love scatter smothered covered and chunked, friendly helpful staff. Although not too expensive times have changed and it cost us $30 to eat at waffle House when just a few years ago it was barely $20 for what we get.“
“I recommend EVERYTHING❣️ Lindsey’s is sassy, fresh, yummy cooking with love. Lindsey has been nurturing my family for many years, from graduation parties to funeral receptions, from lunches to birthday cakes during quarantine, they are the best!“
“We love Wing House .. they have several locations, but Normaltown is our favorite just for the ease of getting to it from our house. We drive an hour each way - (bc we like it that much!).The parking is tight - but there is off street parking near by if its busy or you arent comfortable in the close spaces. All of their food is amazing - but Appitizers: Fried Mushrooms / Fried Green Tomatoes / Cheese Sticks and / Fried pickles!Pro Tip - Order 1/2 orders of each and have a sampler for your table to share! We found them via a Food Truck outing at a local brewery - and knew we had to visit their restaurant - If you need a food truck vendor - These guys are delicious!!Flavors - SO MANY to choose - but Hot Honey Garlic is our Favorite - the Lemon Pepper is also delish.(Mild-Medium-Hot-BBQ-Honey BBQ-Hot Honey BBQ-Dry RanchLemon Pepper-Garlic Parmesan-Hot Honey Garlic-Teriyaki-Honey Mustard-Jack Sauce-Mango Habanero-Sweet Thai Chili-Hot Honey)Last but not least - CAKE! - Home made, delicious, just like grandma makes ... German Choc, Key Lime, Banana Bread, Peanut Butter, carrot, - you never know what is available when you go in - but you KNOW it will be amazng!A++++ - 100% - would reccomend!“
“Sandwich (avocado and turkey)was ok, bread could have been toasted more. Mac and cheese was good. Counter service was personable and efficient ( it was honestly the best part). I came around 6:30 on 11-21 and was helped by a pleasant young lady with curly blond hair. Overall it was a good experience punctuated by exemplary customer service.“
“Beer is really more than on average. HighNoon was 6.25They have a very few local beers and miller light mostly anheuser-busch products on tap and in bottles/can. As we no longer buy anheuser-bush products due to there past advertising mistakes. We got a bit thirsty. The atmosphere is great the staff was very professional and friendly. The band we went to see, Grains of Sand were very entertaining.“
“Came here with my wife and we had an excellent time, the oysters were fresh and the food was so good, I got the salmon pesto pasta and she got the scallops and it was definitely worth the money. Our server Lily was knowledgeable of the menu and made sure my wife and I had a great anniversary, we will be back soon.“
“Came here for a Saturday date night and had a great experience! Food was great, service was great, and even after a poor interaction with an unhappy customer, Avery, the manager remained high spirited and kept a smile. Love this spot!Dietary restrictions: Gluten“
“Love the World Famous. This is a locals spot that truly rocks. The bar food is unparalleled and the drinks are amazing. Get the poutine and add the pork if you eat meat. Try the SUNBOY Spiked Coconut Water if you want to have a hydrating coconut cocktail. This place is a must visit in Athens.“
“The setting of an old house is quaint. Not too stuffy but not too casual either. Parking was a little tight. We were sat right away with our reservation. 6:15 on a Monday, not too busy. The main dining room was a little chilly. We figured they were expecting more customers and it would warm up. Tables are metal legs with wooden tops, chairs were ok and everything was acceptably clean. The hostess was nice, we were given water and menus right away. Menus also included the happy hour specials and a list of bottle wine specials.Happy hour gimlet was good and the local lager was too.The charcuterie board was ok. We stretched it to feed 5. The Sun-choke jelly was ugly but de-li-cious!Our server was personable. We asked questions about the menu and various waitstaff members either could or unfortunately could not answer them. Our impression was that there wasn’t much of a ‘team work’ vibe happening.Beet salad okMushroom soup ok but needed a little kick of somethingThey were out of dumplings! We later found out that a large party of economic conference guests were sat in another room and we figured they were given dibs. We were offered extra sourdough bread which worked out as a good alternative for sopping up the juices. The trout okThe schnitzel was given a 9/10 from everyone who ordered it.We weren’t going to order dessert but because of the “no dumplings” and a late entree, we were comped and we ordered one of each. The lemon cake—needs work, tasted floury and heavyThe chocolate offering— too bitter but…the banana ice cream was amazingThe orange pavlova—-10/10! Best thing we ate—perfect treat. We enjoyed a leisurely very good meal and would recommend this restaurant for adult diners, date night, special occasion, or as a treat. There is outdoor/patio seating.“
