“Staff is super friendly, which is a plus in Atlanta. Food is superb absolute quality. No cutting corners in this establishment. My toddler literally finished his plate, which says a lot. Prices are worthy of your hard earned ?. Stayed away because of the stigma of the old Chinese ghetto restaurant was nasty af. Crazy I am amazed by the new ownership.“
“This place was so good. The menu is HUGE, but you call when you're ready, so there's no pressure to rush through it. But I recommend looking ahead of time because you only have 2 hours once seated. My friends and I ordered several dishes and shared them family style. I highly recommend this so that you can try more things.“
“This is the Best Ramen in Atlanta hands down. the Tonkotsu Black is superb. the noodles are fresh and all the toppings are top shelf. Yebisuya is my go to Ramen spot without question. Make note of their hours 1130-3 pm for lunch then they open again at 5 for dinner.“
“I hardly write reviews, but had to give a huge shoutout to our favorite sushi spot in Atlanta for their incredible service last night. I’m gluten free and 4 months pregnant so with those two things combined most sushi places would be off limits but not Eight! Our server took the time to walk me through everything on the menu I could still order and even things off menu they could make for me. We landed on the king crab nigiri and off menu avocado shrimp roll with gluten free soy sauce. Both items were fantastic. Our sweet server even brought out this adorable congratulatory dessert at the end! Thanks for another great meal Eight!“
“Lauryn C. was our server and Julian was the manager when we were at Oku. The food and service were excellent! They truly made our anniversary a special experience. If you’re looking for a whole other level of sushi, you really should try this place!“
“Out of the multitude of amazing things I want to say, I will concisely summarize my experience by simply stating: WOW! I really enjoyed the courses and unique style of flavor combinations and presentation. The atmosphere rocked especially thanks to Calvin being so present and affable and genuine. Clearly everyone at Norifish is passionate about offering a proper dining experience from top to bottom and everything in between.“
“Food was amazing and service was impeccable. The 8 course tasting menu and Sake pairing was worth every penny. Went for my birthday and they did not disappoint. Angela was the best. Very personable and knowledgeable in regards to menu options, Sakes and history. Compliments to the chef!!!“
“really amazing food. so fast and delicious! wonderful experience! Kaya Signature with the Karaage ...perfect spice, flavor, texture, broth. we were here at noon and had our food in 15 min from the moment we walked in the door and we did not rush to order.“
“This is not a restaurant. It is an experience.Although I've done fine dining, I've never been to a Michelin star restaurant, and they did not disappoint. They knew me by face upon entering, any waiter/waitress/sommelier in my vincity was mine, my water was never empty, the music selection was vast, and the atmosphere was chic, intimate, and neat.As the only single diner, I was placed right in front of one of the 3 chefs, so I had a clear view of all preparation. Since it is omakase, there is no point in saying what I had because you'll likely have something totally different. They do have "supplements" that are constant to my knowledge, and I had the foie gras monaka. Everything I ate had a layers of flavors. A literal oral symphony. The uni (sea urchin) is indescribable. The bathroom had a bidet, which is a first in any restaurant I've been to, everyone is knowledgeable and warm, they had Japanese chopsticks ( there is a difference in chopsticks!) and anytime I need to get up there was someone to pull my chair out and push me in.I could go on and on. As a teacher, I can't do experiences like this often, so it was just a pure delight for me.Just go. It is so worth every cent spent.“
“Really special experience, unmatched in Atlanta. Pricey, obviously, but it almost transcends dining. The food quality can't be overstated. Sake recs were top notch. The kind of "above and beyond" service you only get at a place like this. The chef is so personable and engaging.“
“This is the first Japanese restaurant in America that we can recommend to Americans. Is this Japanese food in most restaurants? There are many traditional Japanese flavors and dishes, but this one is just Japanese food, and when I miss Japanese food, that normality permeates my stomach. I recommend it.“
“My husband and I love this place! The sushi here is unique and top notch! The ambiance is low-lit, almost speakeasy-ish. We always get the legally blonde and a star is born. You have to get a star is born. It’s delicious. Mama Mia is also really good.Lychi martini is their best drink in my opinion.Sticky toffee cake for dessert. You can never go wrong here. They never miss.“
“Ate here tonight! Such a cute & decently priced place. The appetizer (spicy cheese karaage) I got was absolutely delicious and the matcha cheesecake was perfect. I can’t wait to come back again! Our server wasn’t the most present but it was quite busy (even on a Wednesday night).Parking: You can pay to park in a nearby lot but can get it validated!“
“Have been getting COVID-19 omakase with Yasu! And I cannot recommended it enough! Every single little detail is not missed even though it is take out. By far one of the best Omakase take in Atlanta currently for it’s price. The amount of food is easily 2-3 times the other omakase and yet the same quality. ❤️“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. The bento box was a delightful combination of fresh ingredients that left my taste buds dancing with joy. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the exceptional service provided by Jackie, my server. Her attentiveness, warmth, and knowledge of the menu made me feel truly valued as a guest. Additionally, the bartender, Blake, crafted some of the most exquisite cocktails I've ever had the pleasure of sipping. Their combined attention to detail and passion for the craft truly shone through in every aspect of my dining experience. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you, Jackie and Blake, for an unforgettable lunch!Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and vegan friendly options here!Dietary restrictions: Servers understand the menu well and are helpful with dietary restrictions.Parking: Plenty of parking in the shopping center.Kid-friendliness: Comfortable environment for families!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible and friendly.“
“Having tried thoroughly enjoyed our omakase experiences at Mujo and Hiyakawa we have been trying to find other similar experiences in Atlanta. I am happy to report that Brush's omakase did not disappoint. The service was outstanding. Both the servers and the chef spent generous amounts of time talking with us and making sure we had everything we needed/wanted.We did the 16 course menu and it was the perfect amount a food and I would say it is a better value when compared to Mujo or Hiyakawa. I would say the atmosphere sits in between those two. Mujo having a very chill comfortable vibe and Hiyakawa being more like a museum and culinary course. At Brush you get a more chill vibe and can get as little or as much information you want to the meal. I would also say that Brush is much less overbearing on the rules than either Mujo and Hiyakawa which was very nice. The quality of the fish and dishes were amazing. Brush has a unique rice and some unique presentations that the other places don't have. All things considered I think Brush my be the best overall place (accounting for price, comfort and experience). The only draw back of the omakase experience for me is the the space in not an intimate as the other spots I have mentioned. You can definitely tell you are in Buckhead.“
“Wonderfully located off Inman Park tucked in a calmer grove, you will find MF Sushi. A clean interior design with a warm ambiance will be the essence of your experience here. The perfect appetizer bite was none other than the spicy tuna avocado balls. Don’t forget the miso soup, the flavor profile is insane. They keep ginger & wasabi table-side & even the quality of these fundamental ingredients speak to the dedication of craft here. I have had signature nigiri, the toro, o-toro, but what I keep coming back to are the traditional maguro, hamachi, & kampachi nigiri. The simplicity of these ingredients that are so clean in presentation & flavors are hard to top, especially when you compare prices. Now we are talking rolls, number one in my books is the lobster tempura roll, narrowly followed by the negi salmon roll. I’ve tried several others including the box rolls & none have hit the spot like these two.MF Sushi will be one of those establishments where you can’t go wrong, so go ahead & book your table now.“
“I personally LOVED this place. Everything we ordered from appetizers to rolls to desserts were all a delight! I usually don't lean towards sushi rolls, but these are some of the best I've had! The garlic pepper toro roll and the 24k roll were both 5/5 stars! Everything we ordered we loved! The desert here is amazing as well! Service was good and attentive, parking here is Valet only so keep that in mind!“
“I have been looking for a great sushi spot ever since I moved out of the city and this place is a 10/10 for me! I loved seeing the chefs as soon as we walked through the door. The atmosphere was cozy and well-designed. The wait staff was very friendly. And the food was out of this world! We tried a few things- the vegetable tempura and shishamo to start, and then the Happy Roll, Yum Yum Roll, and Orange Blossom. Everything was fresh, cooked to perfection, and delicious! This will be our new go-to whenever we get a craving for sushi.“
“This is a good place to have a quiet late lunch/early dinner. The server and the chef were really nice. And getting your food won’t take long. The taste is very good. Especially the fried calamari, and its sauce.Since I am allergic to cucumber, I asked if I could exchange the cucumber for cream cheese or something else, but they wanted to charge extra for the other topping.Would go back to try the fried rice.“
“Super cute interactive things to do in the restaurant itself like a wall for drawings or cute notes along with games to play with your family at the tables. They also have super cool gachapon you just have to ask the staff at the counter for some tokens. The food itself is amazing, i will definitely be making myself a regular here. The staff are also really sweet and pleasant. I’m so happy I found this place“
“Sushi was really good and reasonable priced, tastes very fresh. Great and kind service!! Very homey and relaxing atmosphere. Food did take a minute to come but it was well worth the wait. This place definitely focuses on quality not quantity, and they deliver that quality very well. All in all 5/5“
“Japanese with a Korean flair. Great prices + great quality + _extremely_ great service. Surprisingly, they’ve been a “near-kept secret” in Atlanta for nearly 50 years. (Since 1970?)We’ve been eating here & picking up more-and-more regularly for only the past 3 years.“
“After a few visits to Katana, I have to say that the service and food quality has been consistently wonderful. The sushi is fresh and beautifully prepared & presented. The cooked items are cooked to order and have been delicious. The waitstaff is always welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is comfortable & nicely decorated. We look forward to each of our return visits.“
“I wish I could give it even more than 5 stars. This restaurant has been time-tested by us and we will return here again and again! The employees are always friendly and try to do everything in their power to ensure that customers enjoy their time! The food is excellent, as usual.“
“This was my first time eating Japanese food that did not come on my plate after a show. So I’m a little uncultured. ??♀️However, I will say that I really enjoyed this food. I don’t know if it’s authentic or not so don’t look for my review to symbolize that. But I felt like everything was very flavorful. I would return. I got the gingeryaki bowl. I also tried the Yuzu drink. Not sweet enough for me but I would try another drink for sure. Jenny was helpful.“
“I've been in here a few times for late night cocktails and small bites. I haven't had a bad thing yet. The cocktail menu is lovingly crafted by the in-house bartenders. They're more than happy to explain their methodology and engage you in conversation. It's a fairly small location and the skewers are grilled right in front of you. A very neat spot in the Virginia Highlands were stopping in“
“On our most recent visit, my wife and I started with 2 pieces of nigiri salmon and 2 pieces of smoked nigiri salmon. Both were delicious! The teriyaki steak and teriyaki scallop dishes with fried rice were also well prepared. The staff is amazingly attentive and friendly! This is also our favorite place in the area to get sushi rolls! We love coming to JP!“
“First time omakase and we landed in heaven. Every bite was perfection. Come early if you want to savor every bite! We only had an hour but still managed to enjoy it all; would have preferred about 1.5 hours or 2 really. The price tag is well worth it.“
“Place is under new management/ ownership atmosphere is awesome! Having edamame, short ribs steam veggies glabi ( short ribs) has incredible flavor must have when you come.come see chef Kevin and Annie, Ms Hannah The Dream team!!Don't forget to get the Amazing fresh Sushi!!“
“Our first dining experience here. We felt like we were eating in a cherry blossom garden. Fresh fish and flavor combinations we haven’t seen before. Lots of choices, beautifully plated. Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff is very attentive and nice. Can’t believe this gem has been in the middle of Sandy Springs for several years and we just found it. They also have a large outdoor patio that we will try on our next visit, soon.“
“We felt like Chinese food today and came to visit. Unknowingly, until we pulled up, it was my 2nd time here. We ordered the house lo mein, crispy half duck, hunan calamari, and tempura calamari and veggies. That lo mein?!.... omg so good! ? the crispy duck is always good. My son ordered the 2 calamari dishes and barely ate them. His most complaint was about the tempura calamari, he said it taste like fried air... so no seasoning. I liked the tempura veggies with the yum yum. And the hunan was good too. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. Not a lot of people so we got our food fairly quick.“
“Ru Sans is a ever evolving restaurant. The relatively new ownership has only improved an already great quality restaurant that has more of a friendly neighborhood feel. It has traditional Japanese sushi but many American friendly additions have been made over the years to the menu. I recommend it now more than ever.Parking: The Tower Place parking deck is paid parking but Ru Sans validates for 2 hours free“
“Excellent service, especially from the lady who is always very friendly. Soft music. The bubble tea she makes on the spot is wonderful. I tried the taro flavor. Delicious ? I don't know how to use the chopstick, so I take my adapter ???“
“Omakase by Yun is an incredible dinner experience! The service was impeccable, and the food was fresh, immersive, and delicious. We particularly loved the Big Mac, lean tuna, sashimi selections, sake tasting and cocktails. Chef Yun was welcoming and attentive. And the mixologist Chauncey (Taylor) created some of the best cocktails we've had. On top of all that, the music and vibe were 10/10. Highly recommend!“
“A Japanese couple operates the restaurant. Have very limited capacity and your order might take a while to cook, but it's always great experience!Because there is limited seating and the chef does not have unlimited energy, you should call before you enter the store to make reservations. If you are new to the restaurant, I strongly recommend you to order their bento box special (A, B, C).“
“They fixed it when I went back to get a refund.I ordered vegetable pho with tofu. I might as well have ordered veggies only because there was barely any tofu. I asked if this was the correct serving size for tofu and they said yes. I’m not ever coming back to this restaurant. For the same price, you get more at Pho 24 across the street. I should’ve went there instead of trying something new.“
“Amazing Udon noodle shop tucked away in a shopping center only serving lunch. The traditional udon was some of the best I have ever had comparable to udon in Japan. The noodles were thick, bouncy and chewy with a pleasant bite. The broth was packed with flavor and hot.The Tempura was perfectly and lightly fried not greasy at all with a mix veggies and shrimpExcited to try more items at this place like their Katsu and Modern and Cold udons“
“Alex was our bartender and he, alone, was AMAZING, let alone the cocktails he was serving!! The Yuzu was INCREDIBLE. 12/10 recommend! ??? The food sushi was perfect, we had zero complaints. SO GOOD! And fast service! But the cocktails are 1009% what sets this pace (once/if you get in) apart! SO. SO good!!!idk if I would have ordered the Yuzu without Alex convincing me that I would love it, and THANK GOODNESS I listed because DAYUUUM!??????“
“Kiosk self order system , since they don’t have a large menu so it’s pretty easy to place my order. Prices are very reasonable as well.Foods were good and didn’t taste like overly addictive foods that some other places offered. I’m obsessed with their side dishes—- Kim chi was sooooooo good. Unfortunately they don’t sell it separately, you will have to order extra along with your entree I surely will order more next time.We will be back again.“
“I have been living in Atlanta for 7 months and I have been getting circle poke every week without missing it. Everything about that place is amazing. They also have the best kimchi I’ve ever had. The only thing that I would like them to add would be cream cheese to their menu.“
“Ok Valentines Evening Dinner. Sat us immediately per our reservation time. It was very busy understandably. Our server was a bit stressed as it was obvious the restaurant was understaffed. I truly felt bad for him because he had no backup, not even to provide water for the table. Food was really good and fairly prompt/no delays. We ended up cancelling our last drinks because our server was so slammed. Overall good experience but the restaurant was not prepared properly for a busy night. We will return no doubt!“
“Everything is good, but the air conditioner is hot..The way of serving food is great..The flavor of the octopus didn’t like the other one; it needs more seasoning.” (Sweet & salt seasoning)I don’t like the chicken wing.. ?I need napkins, no one give me napkins..No oeyster and crab…And just an input, the waiters need more smile and don’t ever ask people “this is $30 buffet” I dont think this is an expensive restaurant…Give people more good attitude you will get a good tip.. I always give 20% - 50% for tip..But overall is good..“
“Fantastic and fresh! Chef Kong prepared us a wonderful lunch. There was a steady stream of folks picking up togo orders as the words has gotten out. We had heard about this place and drove from Stone Mountain. Everything is fresh, which is such a nice change.“
“The service was excellent, hostess gave us great recommendations for food. The food was delicious, I ordered the salmon bento box. Really nice atmosphere and would be great for just a group outing or date night. I e will definitely be back.“
“Had last minute dinner here while passing by and it was a great choice! The combo dinners are a great deal and you get a decent amount of food for the price, especially for Japanese cuisine. The only hiccup was they got our order wrong but was quickly fixed, but we had also seen a table next to us get the wrong order. Very small space but we were seated quickly on a Sunday night. Space is tight so it was awkward to balance a purse in the seat and also make sure it won’t get knocked over. There’s a designated parking lot in the back and other parking options nearby.Parking: Tight lot in the back. Host can tell you more options at a nearby restaurant/street.“
“EXCELLENT! We had 3 rolls and they were all perfection. My favorite was the Rolls Royce Roll, we also had the double decker, and the twilight roll. We also had a beverage (run for the pigs? lol) it was also delicious. The icing on the cake was the service. I wish I knew our servers name but he was so attentive. He shared all the info about the menu, drinks, and even brought us a dessert. We will definitely come back.“
“We ate here after seeing Cirque du Soleil nearby with our two kids, 10 & 11. The restaurant was clean, and comfortably decorated. I wasn't worried too much about having what amounts to a grill in the middle of our table with the kids. It's obviously hot, but it's not like you'll lose a hand if you get too close here and there. Service was great. Our server was Yuki. He was very attentive, and explained how it worked, and answered any questions. When our food arrived, Yuki told us exactly what each item was, and exactly how long to cook it per side. Not a cheap place to go, especially with kids, but a nice treat after an otherwise fun-filled day with other new first experiences.“
“Amazing food! Great service! The food is some of the best traditional Japanese food around. The ramen is great and so is the sukiyaki udon!**UPDATE **Everything is mostly the same; however, you now have to register for parking and pay. You do get 2 hours which is usually enough to eat there, but it does add slightly more hassle. Their prices have significantly increased. Things that were $15 are 17$... there was a dish that I believe was $11 is now $17. (Don't quote me, I could have misread.... but that's what I remember)“
“Peachtree Pavilion is one of the hotspots for good Asian food and drink in metro Atlanta. This U-shaped, two-story shopping center in Doraville has been home to Atlanta's only ITP (inside the perimeter) H Mart for over a decade now. For longtime Atlantans and Buford Highway enthusiasts, I kind of view Peachtree Pavilion as the "new" Asian Square. It's one of the centers of Asian and Asian American activity in town. For years now, Peachtree Pavilion has been busy and bustling. Occupancy is high and business is good. It didn't always used to be this way, however. I remember, circa 2010, when all this shopping center really had was H Mart (at that time, branded "Super H Mart") and Shoya Izakaya. The shopping center was built in 2008-2009. It wasn't until the mid-2010s onward when this place really started to take off. Over that time, some businesses at Peachtree Pavilion have become Atlanta staples while others have come and gone.Below are some of the highlights of Peachtree Pavilion. You can read my full take on each business by visiting their Yelp page.* Shoya Izakaya - yelp.com/biz/shoya-izaka…Now old-school, great for all-around Japanese fare, including sushi.* Yebisuya - yelp.com/biz/yebisuya-do…Located next door to Shoya, I believe this is a sister restaurant. It's good.* Sweet Spot - yelp.com/biz/sweet-spot-…Sweet Spot is unique in that they serve Hong Kong-style food, desserts, and drinks.
