We went there for lunch today and ordered the Thursday special - country fried steak. Between the 3 of us, sides were mashed potatoes, field peas and snaps, fried okra and Mac and cheese. They were out of okra, field peas and snaps was really black eyed peas, Mac and cheese looked and tasted days old, mashed potatoes were mediocre. The biscuit was good but lukewarm. When asking about dessert the choices were pecan pie, peach cobbler, brownie or banana pudding. They were out of pecan pie and we had heard the banana pudding was just jello pudding …..All in all very disappointing. The iced tea was good though.Signage showed this restaurant as a pick for Taste of Gwinnett for several years - most recently 2019. If today is an example - no wonder that’s the last time.Too bad — but we were grossly underwhelmed.

Just gross! The fried chicken was alright but from the biscuits to the cheese grits it was all prepared last night. The grits were more like grit balls. If I didn’t like cold chicken and wasn’t starving, I wouldn’t have eaten anything. Stay away. Ishmael was a great server/cashier/hostess. If I could give 0 stars or -5 that would be more accurate.

This was my first time in this cafe and we had friendly service followed with delicious food.. I would go back again.

This place was TERRIBLE!!! Not only do they pick and choose when they serve breakfast, but the food is awful. My son had grilled cheese (how do you mess that up, right?) It was so hard that it chipped as you tried to cut it. I got the country fried steak and can honestly say it's the only country fried steak I have ever had that I couldn't take more than one bite. The gravy on cfs and mashed potatoes tasted like no gravy I have ever experienced, incredibly bad. My wife got shrimp and grits... it was instant cheese grits with blackened over grilled shrimp.. My son wouldn't even eat the mashed potatoes. Never in my life have I seen a kid spit out mashed potatoes and refuse to eat them. Over all this place should just close. I would starve before I ever came back here. Beware! You have been warned. DO NOT GO HERE!! But maybe reccomend that the health in spector does..

This place doesn't smell good. You can see the kitchen from the sidewalk and it was so dirty. The fried chicken seemed like it had been warmed up in the microwave and the black eye peas was watery. Mac and cheese was watery also. Returned the food.

Omg! I never review restaurants even if they are delicious, but I had to warn others. This food was disgusting!! I never throw away a whole meal even if it doesn't taste great, but this was inedible. The cream corn taste like it came straight out of a can but worse!! It was a strange mustard color too, god only knows what they put in it. The macaroni and cheese tasted like burnt, sloppy, cheese and it was a strange dark orangey color. The "chicken fried steak" was like some pale old gray meat and the batter was completely separated from the meat. The dressing tasted like seasoned burnt cornbread with gravy on top. The only thing that was ok was the peach cobbler, and I didn't even eat that because I was so grossed out by the other food. If you are like me and know what good southern home cooking is suppose to taste like, save your money and don't bother. After $33.00 spent, this is a lesson learned for me. I wish I knew how to add photos just to confirm the grossness. Never eat at a restaurant with a star rating less than 4.5. ????? I would have given it -0 stars if I could.

Food was salty...cornbread fell apart and turned into crumbs once you touched. Pot roast meat was dry. Good service but poor quality food.

So at the Corner Stop Cafe, the atmosphere is very southern and cozy. Our server was Trish I believe her name was,and she was really sweet and charming.I absolutely loved there Mason jar glasses for drinking cups. And the fact that Trish, made sure my husband cup didn't go empty, was a huge PLUS for me.Now let's get to the food!My husband ordered the Country Steak and eggs with extra gravy and he LOVED his food. He said it was cooked perfectly for him.I ordered the on the farm omelet I think it's called. It comes with like 4 different kinds of meat, onions, bell peppers and you get a choice of 1 side. Which I got the cheesy grits.( being a southern belle in all) Well my omelet was WAY too greasy, that it has grease all on the plate and it was WAY OVER COOKED.BUT like a true lady, I didn't cause a big fuss. I just simply ate my OK tasting grits and left my omelet untouched. But the lady at the register (I'm guessing was the owner)Asked why I didn't eat my omelet and I told her. She was very apologelic. So even though my food & water tasted bad, I still give this wonderful MOM&POP place a 4 STAR rating.Because I'd rather support a local business than a franchise or Corporate company anyway. So thank you Corner Stop Cafe for the delightful Southern Experience.

Super friendly people and a great place for family and friends. They welcome everyone with loving open arms and it feels like home even on your first visit. Me and my family agreed we will be dropping in for regularly scheduled get togethers just because of the loving atmosphere. Not to mention the food is delicious and the homemade honey buttered biscuits are amazing and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t like honey. It really is like a small town type of cafe that you would see on Christmas on the hallmark channel and it’s only May so I can only imagine. I don’t think I’ve ever written a review about a restaurant but this one was worth writing, I’ve only been there once but I 100% plan on coming back.

Surprisingly nice place on the Lawrenceville square. Staff is friendly, and the menu is cheap and tasty. If you're looking for southern cooking in downtown Lawrenceville, this is the place to go! Definitely a local hangout joint!
Friendly service! Really tasty food. Great sweet tea. I will go back.

Good food but you could tell it came out of a can

I really enjoyed my breakfast. Then gives you a substantial amount of food for the price. I had the Barn Door breakfast . It is two scrambled eggs three pieces of bacon two pieces of Link sausages toast and two pancakes . It's a nice Homestyle breakfast. Just pack your appetite . The only thing I didn't like was they did not wear masks.

Meatloaf was ok. Did not like the potato salad. Mash potatoes were good. Like the honey on the biscuit. However the biscuit was cold. I'll give them another chance, though. I'll try something different.
