This restaurant was recommended to my group by our tour guide. It was awesome! I will definitely try it again when I come back to visit Hawaii
Some of the best southern food on the island. I drive from central Oahu when I can to get lunch or dinner. As always the catfish was amazing. The mac n cheese was perfection. Can't say enough about the food!
Mediocre oxtail and rice. I had much better. Need better communication from the chef. For 20.00 I should feel satisfied but instead I feel played
Food here is great but it takes a while. If you give this place a try and you're doing takeout (I think their dining room might still be closed?), make a phone order.
My first time going. Food is expensive and not worth the prices. Seems like all the sides came from a can. Nothing is homemade about the sides. They even forgot to give us the cornbread. I will not go back or recommend my friends because it’s just nothing special about the food.
Listen! I’ve been craving for shrimp and grits for almost 9mos and when I tell you this plate exceeded my expectations on yesterday, IT TRULY DID! My church friends and I found this place a few weeks ago but never went due to the restaurant only taking to go orders, but I wanted to check this place out and I’m glad I did.1. Shrimp and grits - five stars2. Okra - five stars with a caveat of it being extra crunchy so it may not be child safe but the parents can eat it right on up, lol3. MacNCheese - five stars4. Potatoes with gravy - five stars5. Cornbread - five starts6. Hush puppies - five stars7. Sweet tea - four and half stars but it’s hard to make good southern teaI’m impressed being a southern belle and all. Keep up the good work, Hughleys!!!
Delicious ribs, definitely on the saltier side though same with the deep fried okra-but def perfect after the beach type of salty. The hush puppies are perfect.
Me and my wife finally caved in and tried their food after numerous recommendations. I wasn’t expecting it to live up to the hype but I was taken by surprise! We both absolutely loved the food and the workers were super friendly!! I had the Catfish, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and hush puppies/ my wife had the brisket, fried okra, and collard greens. We will definitely be back soon!!
Tasty dishes. Good Service.
Tried to take a picture of the catfish poboy but I demolished it!!! Was AMAZING
there fried catfish is the closest thing to catfish from back home in mississippi. we go atleast 2x a month there mac and cheese is also really good. and you gey 5 pieces of catfish in your plate. its family owned business with some of the nicest people youll meet
We wanted some souther eats and this restaurant delivered just that. You won't be disappointed.
We ordered take-out for Mother’s Day due to the pandemic. I gotta tell ya, the food was absolutely AMAZING!!!! Catfish and brisket were absolutely unbelievable. So flavorful. Sides of candied yams, mac&cheese, black eyed peas, and hush puppies were to perfection! We also enjoyed sweet potato pie and peach cobbler. The food was the absolute best we’ve had in years. We do suggest that you remove the aluminum foil under the brisket before cutting to eat to avoid getting pieces of foil in your food. We wish we had received more BBQ sauce as we received only one small plastic container for our 2 meals. Simply was not enough.... because it was so YUMMY!!! ? Unfortunately, I’m allergic to cinnamon and was not aware it was in the cobbler. ☹️ I was SO looking forward to having it! I do suggest mentioning that it has cinnamon. I love cobbler and substitute nutmeg rather than never have cobbler. Imagine?? I can say without a doubt that us “Three mom’s” give you a perfect 10?? and we can’t wait to order again! You gotta try this place!!!
We enjoyed Hughley's food dining in the dining room before covid hit. They now offer only take out and they are busy. We ordered brisket and smothered pork chop. The pork chop was so tender it almost falls apart. The brisket tasted good, but looked naked without sauce. The corn bread is moist. The red beans and rice is so flavorful that it was the first item finished.Their desserts are all very good.
