Love the sushi and service here. The sushi is great...huge pieces of nigiri sushi and rice. Too large to eat 1 piece in 1 bite, which I know is not the way to eat sushi, but it's too much for one bite and I LOVE IT! Delicious, gilling and great personable, friendly service every time.

This little gem right here is tucked away in a mall under the overhang by the parking garage so it's a bit hard to find. However, don't give up, find it, you will not be disappointed. It has a small little storefront where you walk up and order at the register with seating outside. We were treated by a very friendly, helpful man named Chris. He helped us choose our rolls based on what we like. On the left wall you'll find all of the sushi options and straightahead are the bento boxes. They have so many options to choose from it was hard to decide. We ended up ordering the forever roll the goldfish roll and Bento box #2. The rolls are humongous! The slices of sushi that they put on top of these rolls is not your traditional thin slice of fish. They are very big, thick slices, and they are so fresh and oh so delicious. You definitely get your monies worth at this spot. The food came out so fast and the hot food was hot and fresh and the sushi rolls were made with fresh delicious ingredients. Chris even came out while we were eating to make sure we were enjoying our food. 5 stars all the way around! If you're looking for great sushi and great service visit Makoto Sushi!

Sushi so good, it'll make you say 'Aloha!' Just had an incredible lunch at Makoto Sushi in Aiea, and I highly recommend trying their Royal Hawaiian roll. It's packed with fresh ahi, unagi , and shrimp tempura, and it's absolutely delicious. The owner was also super friendly and made us feel right at home.

What a find! Found this place while searching for food when we visited Pearl Harbor Memorial.It was slightly hard to find but the food was worth it. Not only was it delicious but it was filling. If you look at the photos, the rolls rise above the container! Even better news is that it’s because the filling/center is PACKED AND it’s delicious.Flavorful and filling? Sign me up again.If we go back to Oahu, this place is a must visit again for my wife and I.Also the ?owner / man in the front was so nice and friendly.

Awesome Sushi hidden gem. Delicious Fish , fresh , great Service from the Owner, I just wish they opened on Sundays ! I drive all the way from Nuuanu to get my Sushi Fix on !
Large rolls at great price!! They are very generous with ingredients and so many options. Taste was quite fresh, as well! We ordered 2 plates for 3 people, which even then, left all of us full. We will definitely visit again. :-)

I ordered take out for lunch one day. I can't remember the name but it was sooo good and a lot too. I had spicy ahi and stuffed with crab. It came with a side of salad and wasabi and ginger. I will definitely order again and try the other ones. Can't wait.

I love supporting small local businesses, and as a bonus Makoto serves generous portions of delicious sushi. The mom makes the ginormous rolls in the back while the dad takes orders and brings out the food. Service is friendly and I was charmed by this family business which is open limited hours.This is a super casual, carry out only restaurant located on the lowest floor of a building, although there are some cement tables and benches in the front by the parking lot that you can eat at. I got the Royal Jin's roll which came with shrimp tempura but next time I would like to try a roll without shrimp tempura and get crab instead...They pack the inside of the roll with so much crab meat and just a thin layer of rice before adding the larger pieces of fish on top. One roll is plenty to eat as a meal, unlike other sushi places. A hidden gem...I highly recommend going out of your way to come here if you like sushi.
