Have been going to Zippy's makiki since they opened. As everything kind of changed during the pandemic so did zippy's. The food before for some reason tasted better. The portions have shrunk not to starving areas but shrunk and with everything else that we know about the price has gone up. The staff and whoever hires the staff is still doing an awesome job the people that come and assist you are Pleasant cheerful and very attentive to your needs. In town for business and the security guard told us to eat lunch at Zippy's and have the Zip Pack. Not only did we have the Zip Pack, we had the Deluxe. In my mind, to have a plate with all of these very different things makes little sense - but it works. Especially when you are hungry! It's about a pound of rice, lol, a piece of fried fish, beef teriyaki, fried SPAM and a deep fried chicken thigh! The waiter was excellent! Very quick in serving us. The onion rings & chicken katsu looked golden brown and easy to bite into and not overly cooked or burnt. The service was great up until I was ready to pay. There wasn't anybody at the register. The dining room wasn't busy yet, but while waiting for someone to ring me for my bill, customers were starting to come in. Some got seated & some had to wait for a table.
