“I had originally ordered a delivery through DoorDash, but some of my order was missing. I called them and he was so kind and willing to help make sure I was happy. He helped me think of ways to make the problem right, even if it had been on DoorDash, and not on their restaurant. I went to pick up a replacement item and he was very understanding and totally wanting to help make me satisfied. Very friendly staff. And amazing food!“

“I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to Indian food, so I did the basic thing and ordered what I saw everyone else on the internet get: Buttered Chicken and garlic Naan. Honestly, it was delicious. I ordered it with a level 3 spice, should have gone hotter, but I'm not a complete rookie and know there's a difference between Asian hot and American hot. It came with like some source of herb-sauce... not sure what I was supposed to do with it, but it was great. There's no seating, so that can be a bit of a challenge (we went across the street to Down to Earth). The service was great, the guy there was very sweet. It looks like they're still trying to get on their feet, but overall, I'd go back & try other menu items!“

“Fantastic Indian food. Not just fantastic for Hawaii. Fantastic Indian food period. We randomly stumbled onto the place and then it became a main stay for us during our stay. My 70 year old mom was astonished by the dal tadka and wanted to know the recipe. That is how good the food was. The chef is amazing and super kind. Can say he really cares about his art. Such a gem. Definitely try it during your stay in Honolulu.“

“Went here with my family & found this restaurant authentic to Indian cuisine. Butter chicken, butter paneer, palak paneer (homemade cheese) & daal tarka were all very delish & plenty of food. I mean service was great, place was very busy with indian ppl. Location Chinatown. Had to park a few blocks away & only 1hr parking so my Son ran back to add time. Masala tea was very good. Even though I'm white I know my Indian food very well live in the East Coast & visit Northern New Jersey regularly. This place is a ma & pa gem! Great Last Family Meal while visiting my daughter in the US Navy. Only took 1 pic before our last curry was brought to the table. Visit this Establishment it delivers. Spice level was on Point.“

“Had Tadka Indian cuisine bookmarked for a while and finally decided to try it. Called as soon as they opened for dinner take out and the phone line was already busy. Ordered a bunch of dishes to try. Pani puri - little hallowed puff balls that you can fill with red onion and potatoes. They have a sauce that you can pour into each one. Just eating of this appetizer can make anyone go back for more. Plus, it's not very filling so you can add it as a side to any dish or share with everyone. Samosa chaat: the description felt like a lot of toppings on a vegetable samosa. But surprisingly, I couldn't point one sauce out that was more distinct than the other. It all melded well together. Aloo matar: potato with peas in a creamy orange sauce. Very nice and pleasant. Lemon rice: interesting take and nice addition to the curry. Not overwhelming in lemon taste. Naan bread- we got the cheese, garlic, and plain naan. Nice and soft and the cheese one filled with a very soft and subtle tasting cheese. Butter chicken, chicken tikka were both good. The vindaloo chicken was super spicy and my husband liked it but was spicy for him he couldn't eat it all. 3 peppers on the menu so have fun! I am not sure if the to go options for the curries is similar to eat in portions but it felt so small. They were like soup bowl containers and I wished there was more. We had an over abundance of rice and bread to our curries. Parking is difficult especially with how small, tight, and limited the stalls were. My parents picking it up we're able to snag a stall but couldn't get out because the person wanting it blocked them and he ended up going around and lost it. That's how busy it was at 6 pm.“

“I heard that it was delicious, so I finally went there♪It seems like you can't make a reservation.Fill out your name and contact information and wait at the entrance. Please contact me when it's my turn. I askedWait in the car ?Since there were only two of us, we couldn't order a lot of different kinds ?For the curry, try Spice Up Special's Chicken Tikka Masala curry with medium spiciness.Curry comes with rice, soThe two of us also ordered naan. For the side, I ordered a cauliflower called Lasuni Gobi, which I didn't really understand. (by husband)The cauliflower was a poisonous color, but it was sour and had a ketchup-like (?) flavor that was delicious. The curry is moderately spicy and delicious✨Is naan also saffron? The rice was also delicious?I think I'd like to go with a larger group next time...The one mistake was the Salted Lassi that my husband ordered! ! !It's not just salt but also spices, making it quite addictive ?I thought I could drink it with curry, but I tried my best to finish it, but I don't think I can...Mango lassi is peaceful and delicious?“

“It's cool when you have colleagues who are foodies. You see, I work in a large office where you get to witness and smell the various foods that colleagues have during lunch time. Several weeks ago, a colleague mentioned Indian curry which piqued my interest as I do enjoy Indian food. The mentioning of eggplant and boiled egg curry really got my attention and I just had to investigate. Luckily, several colleagues were going to Lasoon, that specializes in Indian and Nepali cuisine, so I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered what was well liked amongst my colleagues. I have never been to Lasoon but found out they are located inside the University of Hawaii inside the Paradise Palms Food Court. They opened in Aug 2018 that also offers vegetarian options. One of my colleagues just raves over the boiled egg curry which I've never had before. To be frank, I've never heard of boiled eggs in curry dishes before, so I just had to give this a try. Follow them on IG for their daily specials, which lists their proteins and sides options. After submitting my order, I waited patiently for my colleague to return. THE VERDICT: I do understand the "Curry in a hurry." concept as this business is in the university and this grab-and-go carryout food exceeded my expectations. I'm no expert in Indian cuisine but I do appreciate the various spices used for their curries. Although this dish sounded odd to me, the boiled egg curry (Thursday special) works. Your mouth is familiar with the texture of boiled eggs, which are sliced in half lengthwise and cooked in a powerful curry sauce. For my palate, I didn't find the heat powerful, and this dish was just right for me. For those who know me, I'm not a fan of long grain rice but do like Basmati rice with curries. Solid dish. I also ordered the butter chicken which was okay but nothing to write home about. Chicken thighs are cut in large chunks and cooked prior before adding them into the curry sauce. I did appreciate the amount of food served but the flavors didn't really seep into the chicken. For the sides I sampled the cabbage, chickpea, and okra (also Thursday special) and I enjoyed both the cabbage and okra. Food was tasty and good volume served here. I also got their samosas, and I reheated them in the toaster oven and work and it was pretty good for fast food. I also got extra plates to surprise my family and they really enjoyed the food. Favorite niece by default and favorite nephew by default both commented on the tasty food from Lasoon and gave thumbs up. I did another attempt with Lasoon and sure didn't disappoint. This round we tried the lamb curry that was a winner. Most pieces were tender and flavorful. Loved the okra so it's a plus to order on Thursdays. I also got the spicy boiled egg curry that satisfied my tummy. Tip: reheat the roti and samosa for optimal quality. Absolutely satisfying. Overall, pleasant experiences at Lasoon where I'm game on getting their food again. I don't go to the University but luckily work with colleagues who appreciate good food and patronize Lasoon regularly where I get to submit my food order and have it delivered to my desk.“
