“So far the best authentic Mexican food my family has found on the island & love that it’s family and local owned. The atmosphere is also decorated really nice for Christmas. The only downfall is only having virgin margaritas so next time, we’ll just make sure to BYOB!Also, the best fried ice cream I’ve ever had :)Cheers!Kid-friendliness: The restaurant had a blow up snowman for Christmas which was a huge hit for our kids! Very family friendly where we would be comfortable making us regular customers“
“*CASH ONLY* Food was absolutely amazing! Diego was super kind and was patient as we looked over the menu. Can't recommend the Chile Verde Wet Burrito enough! Considering the cost of food on this island, three meals for $47 is amazing and the portions did not disappoint!“
“Love the tacos, some of the most authentic flavors on island. My only gripe is how tiny they are. Typically taquerias give 2 tortillas with street tacos and you can make a second taco with the leftover meat, so it’s a disappointing that these only give one. The salsas are so good and glad they don’t skimp. Sad that 100 bucks wasn’t enough to feed my family(2 adults 2 kids) given the small portions of food. Also, the horchata was so gritty, I’ve never experienced that before in an agua fresca. Overall good food and atmosphere, bummer prices.“
“Found the chipotle of Hawaii finally where I can make my own burritos and salad bowls it's not bad for roughly $16! They have 3 types of base you can pick - white rice, brown rice or salad. 3 types of beans - pinto, black or refried. And then various proteins to choose from. You can top that w a variety of toppings (choose 2 of the 4 types of salsa they have) and guacamole is additional cost. Perfectly filling meal with the salad bowl plus chips. I love it and would definitely order again!“
“Bowles Burritos has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Kailua. It was recommended by a fellow employee, so we all went there for lunch. The burritos are large - most in our group took half home for dinner. I had the chicken enchiladas and enjoyed them. Had them again on my next visit. Had the chicken salad on my third visit. (Yes, I love their chicken - so juicy). The employees are very friendly. It was such an enjoyable and delicious experience! We'll definitely go back when we have another employee outing!“
