“This place has been around for years but for some reason my wife and I have never got around to trying it. Now that we are not dining indoors because of Covid, we decided to try their takeout service. (They don't deliver, and it's not on Doordash.) I'd give it a 3.5, which I'll round up to 4. The young woman who took my phone order was pleasant and efficient, and the order, when we got it, was completely accurate. My wife wanted to try the Tuscan chicken but when I attempted to order that over the phone, was told they don't do that meal on takeout. So, after a hurried conversation with my wife, she ordered the cod parmesan with cheesy risotto instead. I got the chicken parmesan. Both meals were pretty good but neither was memorable. The portions were large, giving each of us a leftover meal. (My wife is somewhat leery of leftover seafood meals; she says if the food isn't fresh the leftovers can be "fishy", but she says her leftover cod tasted fine.) Each entree came with a salad, a roll, and what appeared to be a garlic breadstick. The salad dressings (creamy garlic parmesan for me, ranch for my wife) were both excellent, and the bread was quite good as well. This may be a case where the side stuff actually tasted better than the main meal. Bottom line: a decent meal, but probably not good enough to get us to drive clear across town for takeout again. It's too bad the restaurant doesn't offer outdoor seating in the warm months, or provide delivery.“
“Go ahead and stop in. We almost missed it driving by, even with gps directions. Choosing out of hundreds of nearby restaurants during ISU move in day, we chose this and I’m glad we did. It’s a little pricey but the quality is great. Their wine list included some great choices. They do have small plates but that equals room for dessert so after we both had the gnocchi, we ordered a tiramisu. The tiramisu is one of the best I’ve had and is clearly made in house.“
“It's a little Caesars. Probably one of the most consistent ones I've ever been to, you can always expect the food to be, well, the best Little Caesars can be.Parking: There's a limited number of parking spots available, and it is shared with the restaurant next door. The parking lot is also often used as the exit from the Culver's nearby, which can lead to people leaving the drive-thru deciding to block you in (there are other ways to exit the Culver's, they just choose to leave in the most inconvenient way possible for everyone else).If there is any parking in front of the store, choose that over the side parking lot“
“Look, I know what I expect when I order a takeout pizza, and so do you. I'm leaving this review because the service at this particular location was so nice that it truly exceeded my expectations. I was greeted with a smile, handed my pizza with a friendly comment, and left feeling that much nicer than when I came in. An elderly gentleman ordered at the front counter while I was waiting (this is generally considered to be a dead tradition after the outbreak and the kids typically hate it) but he was treated with dignity and respect and, again, it warmed my heart.This pizza I got was also criminally delicious. Jeff's Pizza can stuff it I really can't see you getting a better pie in Ames. The kitchen staff have to be commended because this was just a solid pizza by all accounts.And they had a cute Christmas tree set up in the lobby.It's normally enough to say 'Hey, you get what you pay for' and that's good enough for a pizza chain, but in this place, at least for me, on that Saturday night, everything came together and I've made one pizza memory I'll never forget. “This restaurant makes delicious Italian food and has many options so pretty much anyone can find something they like. The staff is also so nice, and brought me some cheesecake on my birthday last year. Ames has been seriously lacking in Italian food most of my life and this place is better tasting and more reasonably priced than plus 39 was. Much more authentic Italian food than you would get by driving to Ankeny for Olive Garden.The location may lead people to not bother driving out there, but I promise it is worth it. Ive seen many Italian restaurants come to town for a few years and close in my life, but this one truly deserves to make it. There’s so many things on the menu I want to try and I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who likes Italian food or wants to try something new!!“
