“The food is amazing & extremely well priced. I ordered the ribeye breakfast that comes with the ribeye, 3 eggs, hash browns, & toast for only $13.99! The waitress with the short, dark hair was very nice, polite, attentive, & quick, even though she was obviously quite busy. The steak was cooked perfectly & so were the over easy eggs. If I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely be stopping by!”

“Hidden gem just off of I-80! Ordered a cappuccino and it was perfect - foam was like velvet and not broiled/over-steamed, espresso had great flavor. The raspberry crumble bar was also delicious - just the right combo of tart and sweet. Space is also very chic, but the staff are the opposite of pretentious coffee-shop vibes - very friendly and down-to-earth. I’m not a religious person but really resonated with the mission being a non-profit that funds addiction support services in the region. The space felt very welcoming regardless of religious affiliation or walk of life.I moderated my expectations going in (figured if nothing else the money would be going to a good cause), but Sheepgate truly impressed! They could hold their own in Chicago or any big city. Will certainly be back next time I’m visiting family!”

“We frequently order pizza here and it is on our list of favorites. Plentiful ingredients. Looks and tastes great. They have a great BBQ beef pizza too, which can be challenging to find. We recommend this pizza!!”

“Took a nice drive to Goldie's today and had an excellent lunch. We had the Mingo Special (tenderloin and hot sausage) and a sausage sandwich, with a side of delicious onion rings. Treated ourselves to a pint of chocolate soft seve and a swirl cone. Goldie's is relaxing and the food is great. Good place for visitors to observe Iowans in their natural habitat.”

“Sugar Grove is an absolutely wonderful wedding venue. Nestled on an old vineyard among some rolling hills northwest of Newton, the property is both rustic and sophisticated in all of the right ways. It offers a main barn that can be used for both wedding ceremonies and receptions as well as several other ceremony sites around the property. We were among the first to make use of a beautiful ceremony location installed by the pond, just a short walk away from the barn. The venue also has a historic building on-site for hosting rehearsal dinners and other events.We cannot say enough about how helpful the owner, Colette, was in planning out our day. She is a huge part of the amazing deal that this venue offers as she acts essentially as a wedding planner, happy to help orchestrate everything that must fall into place at the venue. She did so much to make our experience as stress free as possible.We have included some pictures of our ceremony and reception from our wedding day. Everything went so smoothly for us and we are so happy with how our day went. There are so many more good things to say about Sugar Grove, but we'll leave you to discover them for yourself!”

“We were there last Saturday. We were informed that they didn't know anything about our reservation for party of 12. With a little work we made it work. The waitress told us that she was by herself. She really did an amazing job of taking care of us. She was on top of everything, and even changed the channel to a game for us. Only a couple of hickups with the kitchen, but handled it. She was outstanding and everyone was happy with the experience.”
