Food was good. Service was only okay, she was not polished at all! Given the prices, we expected a higher level of food quality, better service and better atmosphere. The setting was nice, but could have been more intimate if the lights had been turned down and jazz music was playing in the background. Friends who were with us had never been there before and they came away feeling it was just okay!
The setting is lovely at the historic Blackhawk Hotel. The food was fine, not great. I had higher expectations given the price and reputation. The electronic menus leave a lot to be desired. They aren't clearly marked lunch, dinner, etc as you flip pages. My son wanted a burger but was not an option due to being the lunch menu. Pricing is pretty comparative to other upscale sit down restaurant. My brunch with bottomless drinks was under $50 which included a 20% tip. They do have live music with Sunday brunch so it was a little on the louder side but you could still have a conversation. The food was pretty good, some dishes lacked seasoning but for the most part it was an enjoyable experience!
