The food is good. This used to be one of our favorite date night spots but the last two times we've gone there has been some kind of sewage smell lingering in the restaurant. It gets worse near the bathrooms.

The wait staff is amazing here but unfortunately I can't say the same about the food. I believe our recent visit was the 3rd time I had been here and had pretty much the same experience. Wait time for food was excessive and when food arrived it was cold and mediocre at best. I had the hot chicken sandwich and it was undercooked and cold. Had a side of mashed potatoes and they were refrigerator temperature. This has been the norm the three times I have been here. Sorry Americana but I don't think it deserves another visit.

Great downtown restuarant for your quick business lunch or weekend brunch! Great food and great cocktails. Happy hour specials are usually pretty good as well! Really, you can't go wrong stopping in at any time.

Stopped in for their weekend brunch buffet because I had heard it was incredible. Large selection of items to pick from but lacking in flavor and heat ( sausages and scrambled eggs were cold ).Service staff was cheerful and helpfulOverpriced In my opinion

My husband and I enjoyed brunch at Americana last weekend. We were blown away by the variety of food choices. Mashed potato bar, mac and cheese bar, bloody mary bar and mimosa bar, every breakfast food you can think of, Mexican dishes, salad bar and deserts. Our favorite item on the brunch buffet was the warm cinnamon sugar donut holes with carmel drizzle. We'd come back to have those alone. I encourage making a reservation and if you have mobility issues, I'd make sure to request a table on the first floor. It can be awkward walking up the stairs with a plate of food while others are walking down.

We were in town for a legislative recognition ceremony at the capitol... after the ceremony was done we asked for a recommendation for lunch, Americans was it and it was such a great recommendation!! Americans is very close and convenient to the capital and parking is also very easy for lunch. We had seven people in our party... service was phenomenal... Americana was not terribly busy, which is unfortunate because their food was fantastic. But was very fortunate for Ross because we had a nice spot to sit and we were taken care of very well by our server. The food was exceptional... We had a blend of a lot of different things. The Americana burger was recommended to us, and that burger was delicious and absolutely huge! I had the Pear and Gorgonzola salad with chicken.. it was absolutely huge even if they cut it in half. I don't think I could've eaten all of that... That was an extremely delicious salad perfectly tossed with a light salad dressing...just delicious. My niece had the truffle mac & cheese, and she said it was absolutely delicious and my sister had the bacon wrapped meatloaf and she was super happy with her choice as well. It was served with white cheddar mash potatoes and they were divine along with asparagus. If we ever get back to Des Moines... we would absolutely stop back to Americana was a great lunch and a great atmosphere... I'm sure it's happening place in the evening

Great birthday cake! The chicken with parmesan cream sauce was delicious. The ribeye was a tough cut of meat. I wouldn’t order the steak again.

Evening dinner with a small group. My dirty martini was very, very good! I had the pan seared chicken breast and my husband had the New York strip. Both excellent and the mashed potatoes were very creamy and great flavor. Our table shared appetizers of: crab Rangoon dip, seared artichokes and Brussels spouts. All delicious and nicely prepared. Our server, a charming young man, was great! For sure would return. One thing to change: now that COVID is over, I still prefer a printed menu so having both the QR code and a printed menu would be nice. Court Avenue Brewing, your sister restaurant offers both.
