Great food at decent price. Good service. Comfortable booths. Great salad bar. Excellent food, from burgers to prime rib.

Worth the wait! If you're willing to wait, this is a wonderful restaurant to go to. The salad bar has nearly any fixing you could think of, as well as fruit and dessert salads. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and decently spaced. The drinks were lovely. I had the seafood lasagna and my partner had a 16oz steak. Both dishes came out hot, and perfectly made. The only downside is that it can be a bit busy, and your server can be a bit absent but it is definitely worth it!

Been here many times over the years and always have had a great dinner experience. The salad bar is packed full with a great variety. Generally I have either a rib eye or a new york strip, always amazing. Excellent stuffed pork chop was delicious. Wonderful wine and drink selections.

One of my favorite restaurants in Des Moines, both their salad bar and prime rib is unbeatable in my opinion. Been coming here since I moved to the area in 06' and have yet to be disappointed. I'm here often on Mondays for their prime rib special. I also love and appreciate their lunch goes till 4 since I usually work nights.

We have been coming here for over 45 years. It is my husband's favorite place in all of the world to eat (and we've ate most of the world, believe me). So when his 80th birthday was coming I planned on having a small surprise party for him there (roughly 10 people). As it got closer to the time of the party, some expressed concern about what safety measures they may have for COVID Variant, which is currently on the upswing in Des Moines. When I ask the matron if they kept a 6 foot distance between tables in their party room, she rudely answered "Absolutely NOT!" like I'd just ask her to give us our food for free. I really wanted to make my husband's birthday a great one, so I ask if I could just rent the whole party room for an hour...again "ABSOLUTELY NOT". No compromise. After discussing it with the other members of the group, we decided to cancel. I was hurt because I wanted it to be special, because you only turn 80 once, but as a friend replied, yes, but he'll only turn 81 once too, so surprise him then. And that is just what I'll do, but you can be sure, it will not be at Chicago Speakeasy.

Service was fast and friendly. Food was good. Best salad bar in town is my opinion. Clean. Employee's constantly cleaning and filling salad bar. Great place for a nice sit down meal. The mini loaf bread is awesome. Love this place! Highly recommend.

The decor is nice. The parking lot is unique. The prime rib was okay. Mine was cooked correctly but was lacking when it came to seasoning. The salad bar is small and has the standard fare. The prices seem reasonable for the atmosphere and quality of the food. The drinks from the bar were pricy but they didn't skimp on the alcohol.

You get what you pay for here. Believe me, it is a good thing here. After dinning at several other places and feeling over charged on shorted portions I was amazed at the portion size for my stuffed chop. We also had a full order of onion rings. There was enough for our party of 8 with some left over. The bread was delicious and our server kept it stocked at our table. I also must say I do drink a lot of tea at dinner but, our server had the next glass on the table before each one was empty. Also the salad bar....oh the salad bar. I could eat just the salad bar. It has a great selection. One of my favorites is the apple salad. I could eat it forever. In short the exceptional service (which I should've tipped more becauseshe was amazing), the amazing food and salad bar. This place is at the top of my list from now on.

This is a restaurant I have frequented for years with my family as a resident of the DSM area. When we had family visit from out-of-state we thought it would be a great place to take them. We called ahead for a part of 8 and were told there would be no wait and they would hold our table. Upon arrival we were told another parted was seated and finishing up and to have a seat in the bar waiting area. We waited for 20min and noted multiple (6) people being seated in the back as well as 2 couples seated in the main dining area. When I approached the hostess booth the elderly woman who was seating was hostile. I asked if she had any idea how much longer our party might have to wait and explained the multiple other parties being seated. I was told, "They made their reservations weeks in advance." I explained that it was unfair to keep a party of 8 waiting and continually seat others. She asked "Do you want to sit in two separate booths?" I replied, "No. I want us seated together and we called in to reserve our table over 45min ago." She stated bluntly, " then you'll have to wait." I asked to speak with the manager and was told she was the manager. I asked when I could speak with the owner of the establishment and was told it is her husband, Jeff, and to call back tomorrow after 11am.Our family has spent thousands of dollars at this restaurant and had a party of 8 that were present ready to be seated for over 45min. They lost not only our business tonight, but our business for a lifetime. Word of mouth travels fast. Don't treat your customers like garbage.
