This place closed its doors 'for remodeling' on 12/5/21 and has yet to reopen - many have said it is permanently closed. So where are all these reviews coming from since then? Something is fishy at this BBQ joint!

Great food!! Fast service and the wings are good! I hope to return to the Des Moines area next year to try something else on their menu.

We came here with friends for dinner. The menu had so many selections it was hard to choose. We ordered the BBQ ribs and were not disappointed. There was a unique selection of sauces that were fun to try. While I did not love all of them, some turned out to be personal favorites. The server was friendly and very attentive to our needs.

Good service, clean restaurant, quick with food. Plenty of sports on TV.. the pork tenderloin is good. Plenty of sides to choose from

Stopped on Saturday very busy, got right in very friendly staff. Asked waitress to recommend something she suggested the Iowa platter comes with 4 sides and represents most of their choices. Thick bbq bacon, sausage, pulled pork chicken and brisket.with the 4 sides way to much food 4 the 3 of us

We come here every time we are in the Des Moines area. Always great food and good service. This is a definite must for anyone visiting the area.

Really delicious. I always just order sides because the main menu items are too large for me! The price is kinda up there but it's good food.

Stopped at Jethro’s For a casual business lunch. I had the crispy fried pork tenderloin. Wow, cooked perfect. The BBQ sauces are spot on.

Jethro's almost never fails to impress. We have been to all but the newer south side location. The Johnston location was the only one to ever not impress, and it was still good, just not up to the others. Altoona is the best, followed by 22nd st.

Ribs with burnt ends. With mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Ribs: Stellar, perfect, incredible. BBQ sauce also amazing. 15/10 Burnt ends: some pieces were good, some were very over cooked. 7.8/10 Mashed Potatoes: typical potatoes in country gravy. Homey. 8/10 Mac and Cheese: no taste of cheese. Basically just little shells in a thick cream sauce. -5/10 Overall: 8.3/10 So many other great options to choose from though.

Went here with colleagues from work. Food was okay. Service was okay. We had to wait a long time for our food. I had the boss hog sandwich. It was good. Waffle fries were okay. I suspect my food sat a bit while other orders were being taken out. Not a big deal, just a so-so experience.

Decent food but not exceptional. Atmosphere is fun but seems so loud to have a conversation with your table!
