Everything was great. Staff, food, drinks, etc. If there is a negative it is probably parking but to be expected in a DT environment. Good area too. Walk to many place easily.

THE 3 SORENSENS

Rooms are nice, location good, staff friendly. But my son couldn’t play his Xbox bc there’s no way to turn the tv down. Front desk told me the technician could fix it but he couldn’t. Tried just using headset but still came through the tv. Bad thing is we’ve already booked here for next weekend too. Guess we’ll be bringing our own tv which is a pain!

Probably the single worst hotel experience I’ve had.Pros:- service is nice- Rooms are cleanCons:- standard rooms are small. The bathroom is even smaller… and I’m a small person.- The showers were cold and it was -30 degrees out. All I wanted was a warm shower. On night 1 I mentioned the water not warming up. Front desk told me it was an old building and to run the water for 10-15 minutes (waste of water). The water was still not hot. On night 2, I tried again and called front desk to get the water checked out. Took a cold shower. On night 3, I checked in and they told me there was an issue with half the building and they were working on it. They offered to change rooms, provide a discount, or get points. That was nice. But it was my last night and I wish they had been more proactive about it all.- getting an Uber for my early flight was difficult. I think due to availability. I called downstairs in regards to the shuttle service and front desk told me that the shuttle driver COULD show up and that sometimes the driver just doesn’t show up. I ended up paying a crazy amount for an Uber instead.- Heard from a coworker that the platinum breakfast was subpar at bestJust really not a great time.

Absolutely no complaints here!Got a last minute reservation at The Savery Hotel for a Friday in December. Pricing was on point, especially for the quality of the rooms and central downtown DSM location. We checked in early (prior to the 4PM time)-- the front desk was more than accommodating and knowledgable. She directed us to the nearest parking ramp (to avoid the $35/day valet fee) -- it was literally across the street! Less than .1 miles away. Can't beat the proximity. The hotel was obviously renovated. I dug a bit deeper into that and the hotel has been around over 100 years. It has hosted Hillary Clinton, Eleanor Roosevelt, President Harry S. Truman and more. The furniture is newer and rooms themselves obviously got a face lift though I do appreciate the original marble lobby floors. It was thoughtfully done about five years ago.Our room was more than adequate with ample usb plugs/outlets as well as a mini fridge and Keurig. I really liked their window fixtures. Normally hotels have kind of gross blackout curtains but this one used blackout blinds. Very effective (and less gross). We were able to walk to Hello, Marjorie and over to the East Village for a show at Wooly's no problem. (A shuttle is available free to guests but it stops running around 10-11pm.)There is a Starbucks just off the lobby, which was uber convenient. Additionally there is the Coda Lounge for drinks and shareable bites. I believe even a spot for breakfast?Truly, my on qualm was where the toilet paper dispenser was in the bathroom? It may seem like a super strange thing to note (and of course I didn't get a picture) but I am rather small and the dispenser was hard to get at even for me. You have to reach completely behind you to the left to grab it. Larger folks would have a hard time navigating these narrow bathrooms and the toilet paper placement.Overall, you can't go wrong with The Savery. I'd definitely stay here again!

This hotel is gorgeous! Very swanky and the customer service is beyond! Shout out to Maddie at the front desk who was a difference maker. I would have given 5 stars but the register/vent made annoying noises all night long. Please see video for example. Would come back but would just make sure our room didn’t have this type of heating/ac if possible.Food & drinks: We ordered room service and it was absolutely delicious! Ravioli and flatbread are “must try’s”Noteworthy details: Maddie at the front desk was a gem! Friendly, helpful and made us feel welcomed. Thank you!!!
