“We stopped in for the first time for a mid-week lunch after reading that they placed high in the Iowa pork tenderloin contest a few years ago with their grilled tenderloin. I was not disappointed: it was a large piece of meat that was tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The price was a reasonable $6.50 (sides like fries are extra). They have a monthly calender of their daily specials (which includes things like casseroles), and the specials are also on their daily Facebook page. The server Robbie was very friendly, outgoing, and efficient. In terms of atmosphere, it's an older business (over 30 years) with one large open room, a bar along the back wall, a single pool table, and both high and low tables. It's clean, well lit, and the seats are comfortable. There is a very large parking lot (there was even a semi pulling a grain trailer there). There is also a picnic table outside. It was easy to find seating during the lunch hour. They had a good crowd of farmers/working men present for lunch. It was a friendly atmosphere. We were very happy with our food and our experience at Staby's, and will definitely return. I've already recommended it to friends and family.Parking: Huge gravel lot big enough for couple semi trucks. Easy access as the business sits on a corner”
“#84/2023 Compared to the prior years gone us the cabin feel the fireplace is gone. The old McDonald's at Walcott received the overhaul a few years back just around the time of covid I believe. It's still sits right next to the Pilot truck stop has room for a couple of trucks. It's been through different ups and downs through the time good reviews bad reviews good service bad service but over the last year I'd say they've had a really good solid staff I'm surprised I've never reviewed this to this day I've stopped here quite a few times through yrs It does have some nice new soft cushioned boots which are very comfortable to sit in same with the chairs. I came in was created immediately and do what I wanted the only drawback they didn't have Diet Coke on that day or in the back they were waiting on the truck to come with some more. So I had a Big Mac meal no pickle or onion french fries medium size no salt and I also went with a nugget small order four piece sweet and sour. And I opted to have unsweetened iced tea. Quality the food was very good everything was hot and fresh. Bathrooms are very clean. So definitely above average of other ones holding it at four stars it was an outstanding but it was very good.”
“This place is often overlooked and would definitely give subway and jimmy johns some serious competition if they expanded nationally.Anyway I ordered the original blimp on spinach wrap and it was delicious! The veggies have taste and are crisp and fresh, the meat has great flavor. The cookie bites taste nice and chewy. 5 star experience wish you guys were in Atlanta.”
“Service was respectful. They pay attention to the customers. Compared to gen Z'ers who are more interested in their own drama in front of the customers. The Salad was very fresh and excellent for a fast food restaurant. 5 stars. Great experience.”
“Drove from Chi to San Fran in a RV stopped by here for some grub and drinks, plenty of parking. Skip the "World Largest Truck Stop" and enjoy real food and real people. Had a great time thanks to Kutch the owner and all the employees and patrons. Will be back, Cheers!”
“I was standing behind Bud Pratt and he was incredibly rude to Evelyn. This man was unexpectedly rude. How dare he treat her this way? This woman was just doing her job and he treated her like she was nothing. She handled it like a professional and worked through his mean demeanor, regardless of how he treated her this woman is strong, and I commend her.”
“Even though the sign says there is an Orange Julius here, that's not really accurate. It's actually a Dairy Queen that can make a couple of their drinks...but I'll take it as they were still able to make my favorite, Strawberry. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were flies in the food court. Not specific to them at ALL but off putting all the same. I got my drink to go to avoid them.”
“Got fresh sub from subway...the lady was polite. The restroom was super clean.there were hand sanitizer besides every single door. The lady on the cash register was nice and showed nice gestures.”
“Easy on-and-off and not as busy as what is across the street. The restaurant was relatively clean and about what you expect for an Arby's. The lady behind the counter was very efficient and very fast though I don't know if she smiled in the last couple months. The food was exactly as ordered and was a great pit stop all”
“Oh wow. A pretty good coffee choice inside what they advertise as Worlds Largest Truckstop. Cool. Honey and a real Large size cup for pretty good Americano of6 shots. Just right. Lovely lass attending my request. And other good fast food options here as well. I'm impressed.”
“Best Pizza Hut pizza I've ever had hands down. Super fresh, perfect crust and the staff members were kind. Highly recommend whether you're local or traveling! And can't beat the price for a 9"”
“Kind of pricey but when you taste it, it's worth it! There are so many places nowadays that don't toast bagels, but they do! The bagel was the perfect texture, lots of cream cheese (but not too much), and the latté was half-sweetened like I had asked. Recommended!”
“Best nutrition shop in the area; HANDS DOWN. Marissa (the owner) is full of knowledge, and the employees are always so helpful and kind. The menu has wonderful items, and they offer something for everyone - even kids! Prices are very reasonable as well!”
“I came here for the first time and ordered the Cajun Reuben and let me tell you, as someone who orders Reubens alot, it was DELICIOUS! The added jalapeños really added a kick and the quality of the corned beef was great. The homemade French fries were crunchy and steaming hot when they came out. Would definitely recommend and come back.”
“Clark's isn't about the atmosphere. The food is definitely the star here. We came for the catfish meal. We will be back for many other items. The service is polite, timely and knowledgeable. The there isn't really a weak item on the menu. We had the fried catfish with the fried (yes, it's breaded with a beer batter) baked potato. Both were absolutely fabulous. The Cole slaw was some of the best that Ive had anywhere. Our server, Mally informed us of the deep family history of the restaurant and the team looked and worked like a family that gets along and understands customer service.Mally informed us of their Clark's burger. They make it by hand with special spices. All in all, this was one of the best dining experiences that we have had in a while.”
“I defy you to find a better burger in town. Can't give enough stars for such great food and prices! We decided to try a few things from the menu being it our 1st trip. We didn't get past the burgers, they were so well proportioned we were stuffed. We did order 4 entres, 1 side, and 1 appetizer. The other 2 entres are for later. My husband wanted to have a midnight snack. Those were the pulled pork, which he ordered the coleslaw on side since he'll be re-heating 1st. The cheese french fries could have been cooked longer but I'm guessing with fries with 4 entres plus those, the fryer was going non stop. Husband had the Mac n cheese, which I warned him had jalapeños in them. After eating some, he did say as I expected, better to leave the jalapeños out. But I think that's a personal opinion and he knew beforehand what he was getting. It should be listed they're in it on the menu though if they're not. All of this food only cost $50. You cannot beat these prices for this good of food. We will continue to get our favorite burgers and selectively choose items we haven't tried to see what they're like. A new after work stop to eat for sure!”
“Omg I'm so glad we finally got to try them out! Skip Clark's Janies has better quality and better service hands down. Thank you for the wonderful breakfast and great service! We will be regulars for years to come!”
“Every now and then I have friends I'll visit in West Davenport. After work one day I was planning to meet with a few of them but unfortunately our plans fell through on my way driving to the place we were meeting. Since I was already nearly in the area, I decided to impulsively stop at Probstei. It had been recommended on the Quad Cities Subreddit, so I was eager to try them anyways. This place is decidedly not the normal sort of venue I frequent. There's a large sign of sorts on the building exterior proclaiming "welcome bikers". To clarify, I am not a biker, nor does my general appearance reflect any sort of associated stereotype for someone who chooses to ride a motorcycle. The interior is fairly small. There's a bar that runs the length of most of the space, a single pool table, and a few other tables. The floor is a combination of wood laminate and pretty old looking carpet, while the overhead consists of primarily plain drop ceiling. Lighting is low - a combination of a few accent strips and the various neon beer signs in the interior. It's quiet and easy on the eyes - I liked it.I opted for the patty melt on the menu with a side of fries. Both were alright. The only thing I was a little bummed about was the bread - it was advertised as rye, but ended up being white bread. Still, it was greasy and delicious.Of further note is the eclectic patio area around the side of the building. There's a variety of seating, including a few picnic tables, individual chairs, and even benches of the size children would likely use. It looks like a nice place to hang out during the warmer months. This is well away from home for me, so I probably won't be back. If you're in the area and need a quiet place to crash and enjoy a greasy bar meal, this might be for you. Thanks, Probstei.Vegetarian options: Consult with the server/bartender what might be vegetarian on the menu.Kid-friendliness: This probably isn't the best place to sit down for a family meal.aybe in the summer months if you want to sit outside.Parking: For the size of the venue there's plenty of free parking around the buildingWheelchair accessibility: The front entrance is wheelchair accessible.Dietary restrictions: Recommend consulting with the server/bartender about your particular dietary needs.”
“Tuesday special: 6 pieces of bacon to build your own blt plus Mac and cheese plus stuffed bell peppers plus garden fresh corn on the cob and a salad and strawberry shortcake-$10.OMG! I wish I could eat here all the time. Not only were the employees warm and welcoming, so were the customers. The perfect neighborhood hang out.”
“This Pina colada and blended banana margarita drink was so delicious! They also provide options to go, so you can enjoy at home. We are always treated like family with great service and we have the most delicious food! This restaurant deserves lots of love, just like the way they prepare food for their customers (with love)!!”
“The BEST! mouth watering, Lemon Meringue pie, I've ever had. Homemade, made from scratch pie. full of flavor! I think im a pretty good baker myself, but...that pie is DELICIOUS! I would definitely go here for more desserts.”
“We drove through and stopped by. If you like small town ambience. This place is great. They only have two fryers but the food was out in a timely manner. Food was great. The waitress was super friendly. Worth stopping by.”
“Great experience at BeerTinis. The patio was beautiful. Great service from the restaurant “Smashes Burgers “ was fantastic. Really clean and refreshing atmosphere. Will definitely return!”
“I called in pizza and garlic mozzarella cheese sticks to pick up. I arrived and the staff was very pleasant and friendly. The establishment was clean and tidy.My cat loved the cheese sticks. The pizza reminded me of my mom's homemade pizza...Purrrfect.”
“This is the best pizza in the quad cities area. It's hard to believe such an awesome pizza comes out of a super small building in a little town out in the middle of nowhere but it's true. Drive to Donahue if you want the best pizza within 100 miles.”
“Great food. Great service. Good atmosphere. Plenty of food. Have not out to Blue Grass for ages. Some might think prices are high for small town but the are about right compared to eating out at other like establishments.”
“LOVE THIS PLACE AND EVERYONE THAT BAR TENDS N ALSO EVERYONE WHO VISITS... MOST HAVE BECOME FAMILY TO ME IN SO MANY BEAUTIFUL WAYS!!!I DONT DRINK ANYMORE BUT I STILL GO IN TO VISIT AND SHOOT SOME GAMES OF POOL AND TALK WITH EVERYONE!!”
“The servers were friendly. Clean and was easy to seat a large group. Buffet style for Easter. Had breakfast and dinner choices, we arrived at 1pm. Good selection of food items - salad bar through dessert tables.”
