“Placed an order the day prior to when needed and they had it ready at the exact time we’d requested. We ordered two family feast, an extra pound of brisket and 6 additional muffins. Our only complaint would be the meat on both feast orders seemed to be way less than the last time we ordered. If I hadn’t ordered the extra pound of brisket we wouldn’t have been able to feed everyone. These are supposed to feed a minimum of four each.No way could it have been enough. But we made do and everything taste wise was great.Big shoutout for it being ready and packed to go as we walked in. Great staff.“
“The blackened pork tenderloin was a first for me. Pretty good but wow, a lot of food. The sandwich had bacon, pulled pork, jalapeno sausage, and pepperjack cheese smothered with a sauce crowned in a white bun. Pretty good but too much. The jambalaya had good flavor but was buried in a large serving of rice; the proportions could have been flipped. Decent drink selection. Plenty of parking with easy access. Overall a pretty good place to eat , have a drink, and catch a game on one of the numerous TVs.“
“It was our first time trying this place and we loved the food and Juan's service was great, from the moment he saw us thinking about what to order he was more than willing to help us and recommend what to try. Thanks to him we had a very nice experience“
“I had them cater lunch for a meeting in West Des Moines. Brisket, pulled pork, Mac n Cheese, and Kue Salad. All of it arrived hot and delicious. Delivery was prompt and the on-site setup was perfect. They helped create the lunch atmosphere my event needed. I have not eaten onsite, but I can't imagine it would be any different. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 10/10.“
“TL;DR: you will have a good time here.Overall the service and atmosphere are fantastic. The owner, Mike, happened to be in the restaurant and came over to our table to check on us a few times. Personable guy, funny. The food was in a weird spot for me. The sides were dynamite (creole mashed potatoes & and corn bread), the mains that I had (ribs, brisket) were just ok.The rub from the ribs was very smoke forward (my hands and clothes actually smelled of smoke for a while after we left) but I didn't get much in the way of flavor past the smoke. The rib meat was fine, if not a little bland. The brisket was less smoke forward but still that was the primary flavor I got. Additionally the brisket was served in one big hunk and it had the taste and feel of a pot roast moreso than what I expect brisket to taste like. The homemade sauces did a lot to impart flavor though. I would go back and try some of the other offerings though.“
“Went here to eat w/ my girlfriends and had a fun time. :)We devoured the bread, they were so soft and fluffy. My 8 oz sirloin steak was okay - I realize that restaurants like this never really cook it the way you want, so why ask? I asked for medium rare, came out well done. Oh well. Still enjoyed my time. We will definitely come back to get the drinks they have! :)Server was very friendly and attentive, didn’t catch his name but everyone was very nice!“
“DZO is an all around amazing experience! From the appetizers, to the meat, to the banchan, to the table-cooking, to the full bar, and the amazing staff, you will enjoy your meal here! Des Moines finally has Korean BBQ!!!! If you have wanted to experience Korean food, you do not need to wait any longer. Go to DZO, you will love it!“

Young staff really great!Wheelchair accessibility: No steps easy access“
“First of all I want y'all to know their was ONE man working and he did a fabulous job. This is a hidden gem in DSM! This man was doing everything and his system was down so we had to go get cash and he told us how much ever the fee was he would take off! Like went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience ?. Which we did. Everything tasted great and was so delicious! I love the Mac and cheese! Fiancé and me are stuffed!“

“We love their food. But the Sunday brunch e-mails notice fails to mention the hours for brunch or supper. The brunch ends at 2 pm and the supper starts at 4 pm. We drove there today expecting to enjoy brunch but were about 30 minutes too late. So please mention the exact hours on your advertisement and we will be thrilled with your restaurant.“
“I have always left any of the Jethro's Restaurant..full, smiling and ready for a nap !! ?I love all pork products and Jethro's Stuffed Pork Chop is no exception. Tender, juicy Boneless Chop stuffed with a perfectly balance mix of Bread, Mushrooms, Butter, Onions and Sage. I also ordered a side of Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and a side of Pit Ham.Jalapeno Corn, a sweet Corn Meal Muffin and I was set.Half of it went home in a Styrofoam "Just as good later" box !! ❤❤“
“A nice rustic atmosphere typical for BBQ restaurants. I would say the sandwiches & platters here are a little on the pricey side. The good is the barbecue. Very well done & tasty. The bad is the sides. I always try the baked beans when trying new bbq places, but their beans reminded me of a restaurant supply bulk beans out of the can. Its a bbq joint... put in some meat trimmings, add flavor, make them unique.“
“We were visiting from out of town in late January. Des Moines had just had a heavy snowfall and the streets were not in great shape so we wanted to find a BBQ restaurant close to our hotel and found Rrackss via the Yelp app. We were there at 6:00 on a Friday night and there were no customers in the restaurant. We thought they might be closed. Parking was limited as they share a small parking lot with other businesses. It was dark, raining hard, and the street in front of the building was very narrow because of the piled up snow and it did not feel like we could park there. The food was delicious, served quickly, and really hit the spot. Another couple came into the restaurant shortly after we did and with only four customers the waiters were able to be very attentive. Come on, Des Moines, support this great restaurant!“
“We walked in it was a small restaurant but I still had my hopes up I ordered chicken fingers, fries, and there cactus ranch the food came after 15 minutes ish but also we had a lot of people order as well my dish arrived as ordered besides the cactus ranch being replaced with regular ranch but the employees happily gave us the cactus ranch for free I went to the men’s restroom and there was a hole in the wall but I just went to wash my hands I walked out and when I took a bite of the fries they could possibly the best fries I have ever had crispy and great the chicken fingers were okay but the cactus ranch was amazing 5/5 stars“
“We were in Des Moines for a couple of days and given that it’s only 3hrs from KC, lol, we decided to go for some BBQ food. The vibe is legit and they got some decent beer on tap. We ordered 2 plates of 2 meat dinner along with some honey sriracha dry rub wings. The 2 dinners gave us 4 meats and 8 sides. Everything was absolutely top notch. Brisket was a bit dry and jalapeño sausage was decent. Ribs were tender and perfect. Smoked wings were also on point. Cornbread, cream corn, fried pickles, waffle fries, potato salad were all incredible. All in all, a great meal and def a must try spot if u in Des Moines. Enjoy…Vegetarian options: Not much but u can get a Salad without the meat. Watch out for sides, as they may contain bacon.“
