This is your basic Mom & Pop Diner, writ large. Food was good, but not great. Coffee was excellent. We were seated in an unfortunate location; just off of the restroom hallway and the smell of the 'piss biscuits' in the toilets permeated the air and that bad fortune affected my taste of the food and impression of the atmosphere. First, the staff and service are a compelling reason to dine. Super friendly, fun, and they work hard. The building is older and there's a nostalgia with this kind of space for me. It feels welcoming and relaxing. Food is generous and hearty. Not fancy, but comfort food. The rating systems are a poor reflection of reality, because they aren't categorical enough. Have not been here for probably a year. Very disappointed in breakfast hashbrowns not very warm & tasted of old oil. Eggs n bacon fine. Cinnamon roll was tasty but tough texture. Food used to be considerably better.
