During the Lenten season, we like to visit the local fish fries. American Legion Calumet is by far the best in the area. The fish is fresh, battered, and fried to order. They have lake perch, shrimp, cod, and a combo plate with a mound of fries, a roll, and cole slaw. We have never been disappointed. We always enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and the new friends we meet. I highly recommend the American Legion Calumet Fish Fry on Fridays.

The venue was nice and I didn't even know it was there until my cousin had his football banquet there. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the food could use a little more seasoning. It was kind of bland, but you could probably request them to add a little more seasoning, but I'm not sure.
