Went on yelp to look for a restaurant in the local area of Chicago,Baxter American Grove came up. Wanted to try just a steakhouse in the area.. Arrive there before the dinner, crowd, or any of the AARP members would show up. to my surprise, the hostess and the bartender were very friendly but it was obvious to me that management believe that two individuals can control over 60 people within the restaurant by an hour later very slow service I ordered my drink and my meal at the same time, understanding that I would wait another 40 minutes. as I said the bartender . yelp gave it a five star Edward recommend only a three star because of the dinner I received was burnt didn't want to send it back realizing it probably be 40 minutes before I saw anything as a return I would recommend going there just misunderstanding that the food is not a five star.

Good steak. Not the best but for Bloomington it's OK. Had a burger on a Pretzel bun once. I don't think the pretzel bun is a good idea.

Food was good. The ribeye was good, but had a chunk of fat.

We were seated promptly during a busy time right before a basketball game. We were served promptly and the food was good. I was disappointed however that they didn't have the bistro fried chicken that was on the menu displayed on Open Table.

It was very busy our server was too busy entertaining the next table and forgot about our table. Very noisy but I can excuse it because it was a table of about 20 people or more so that's where all the excitement was coming from. Overall I would come back to try other foods on the menu I wasn't to pleased with my entree which was the shrimp and crab meat pasta

The food was top notch...had the shrimp scampi with scallops.....was to over the top. The service was excellent. If in champaign must go..also the Baxter salad was excellent as well.

My fiancé and I love going to Baxter's for the occasional date night. Our latest visit, we had another couple join us and they enjoyed their first time dining there. I always get the Baxter's salad and filet kabobs and my fiancé always gets the mixed greens salad and smothered grilled chicken. We have never had a bad meal or experience at Baxters and we will return!

Our party of 4 was there Saturday February 10th.Our server was Lena (hopefully I spelled that correctly) was absolutely the best! She was kind a courteous. The Manager Bart on the other hand was terrible! Even the general manager said that Bart was well "Different". This review is 100% for the general manger and our server Lena.

As always, Baxter's never disappoints! Megan was our server and she was fantastic! Excellent service and well as making some great dinner selections! She took such good care of us!!

Easy close parking, large, very reasonably priced menu, experienced wait and bar staff, perfectly prepared dishes, and prompt service, including from bar. Only complaint was noise level, dining area was full, music level was turned too high, conversations at our table required loud speaking. Everything considered, Baxter's is the best fine dining restaurant!

Excellent date night spot and also a sweet place to watch sports. I got the ribeye steak and it was cooked exquisitely. The garlic butter seasoning enhanced the tenderness of the meat paired with solid mashed potatoes and broccoli. Been there multiple times and would go back.

Definitely a higher end meal in the CU area! We had the ribeye steak and it was so filling! The meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare, was juicy, and was very nicely flavored! Mash potatoes was just the perfect amount of chunky and creamy. Broccoli was okay, of course not the star of the show. Staff was kind! Check this place out for your next date night, fancy celebration, or hangout with friends!
