Original review follows.Extremely limited hours, poor value, but delicious food.Bizarrely, this restaurant is only open 25 hours per week, closed Sunday and Monday, exacerbated by the owner seemingly looking for any excuse to close even more days. Closed for end of summer? Wow.They used to have a decent value, with 5 dollar boxes, but those were raised a dollar, and their meals come with a slice of white bread that nobody wants, which you have to pay 2 dollars to substitute out for the rice and peas that the meals should be coming with in the first place. They also charge you for extra j*** sauce, which comes in tiny little containers. This is one of those restaurants that will charge you for every little thing.The Champaign Urbana area really needs another Caribbean restaurant to open to force this place to become more competitive, stop their shenanigans, or go out of business.But if you don't mind the expensive prices and small portions, you'll find their food is very delicious, if you can manage to find them actually open.

The food is always good. I got the oxtails with mac and cheese and cabbage. It was so delicious. The service was ok. The restaurant is pretty small, so you have to get your food to go.

I enjoy this place and especially the food.There are lunch specials, which are great, but limited.The have so many choices of sides and if you buy only sides, they are fairly good portions.Ask for thee sauce on the side of you want to control the heat of the meal.They have drinks that are a bit pricey, and I wish they would refill, but otherwise delicious.You can order ahead for a pick up. The packaging will be sealed and include knife, fork, napkin, etc. There is no extra charge for pickup.If you order in, they are still not open to the public to sit down and eat, but you can relax and enjoy the music. There is a bench outside and under an overhang.I am unsure if the restrooms are open to the public.I have seen safe food handling every time I have been there.I once splurged and ordered food for everyone at work one day. The only complaint I heard was it was a bit spicy.I suppose not everyone is up for the hint of heat they provide.If you don't know this place, learn about it, try all the sides, they are all good.If you have to wait, it is worth it.The parking is free.The worse thing is remembering how to get to the little mall they are located and their hours are too short.

Doesn't look like much but is great. Food quality has went downhill a bit in the last year, and the hours of operation kind of difficult to work with for dinner but still pretty good.

I have been here about 5 times and has been excellent every time. The chicken is always tender and spicy. I would recommend both the Mac n cheese and steamed cabbage as sides. If you sub rice ‘n peas for bread the total cost with tax is $16.15. It comes with napkins and silverware.

Decent food, terrible service. I ordered my food at 11 and was told on the app that it would be ready at 11:30. Showed up at 11:30 and it turns out they're opening at 1pm today. I show up at 1pm, order has been cancelled.I will not be eating here again.
Hands dwn my favorite place. But u gotta plan ahead n catch them as there hours are tricky

For those of us that like unique cuisine with a little spice, the Caribbean Grill has the best food in Champaign-Urbana! I routinely order the 1\2 Chicken Dark Meat Meal with the upgrade to red beans and rice instead of a slice of bread, fried plantains, and an extra side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is without equal in CU. You will not regret ordering it!
