“I frequent the la grange area quickly and if I have a taste for Mexican food, you can catch me at Brothers. I get take out 99% of the time, and usually get the burrito or steak dinner. The steak is really great, and all of the other ingredients are fresh. In terms of the size of the burrito, it's average although very flavorful. The only thing I'd wish they do, is to not cut the burrito in half. The torta is delicious, and the rice/beans compliment well. I've never had issues with them getting orders wrong either!I did sit down to eat once, when it was relatively slow(like one other customer in there), and the service was a little slow - had to wait a bit to get a check. All in all, a very solid spot, prices were decent, and the food hit the spot.“
“i go to taco bell because i know im gonna like the food even if it's not the greatest quality. you can never be mad about food that you had low expectations for but when i tell you the two ladies in the kitchen making these mobile orders? i have never had taco bell that hit the taste buds so good. everything was hot, seasoned, fresh, yummy.“
“It’s so nice to see the old Pepe’s back in action as LaPlayita. The place was packed, but we didn’t have to wait long. The drinks were great, the food was great, the and the service was wonderful! We met the owner, Jerry, as we were leaving and he was so sweet! He has done an amazing job sprucing the place up! Highly recommend!“
“I had recommended this place to my friends as they had never had birria before and this place did not disappoint! I had a smile every time I took a bite out of the tacos de birria. The staff were very friendly and nice, and the overall this place gets a 10/10 outta me. I can’t wait to come here again and try the “
“El Solazo's triumphant reopening heralds a new era for Mexican cuisine aficionados seeking an elevated dining experience. Located in the heart of the West Elsdon neighborhood, this sophisticated upscale restaurant effortlessly marries tradition with innovation, presenting a tantalizing array of traditional Mexican dishes infused with gourmet flair. As I stepped into El Solazo for the first time since its revival, I was immediately captivated by the vibrant atmosphere. The warm hues of ochre and terracotta, coupled with soft ambient lighting, created an inviting yet refined ambiance. The subtle strains of Mexican melodies floating through the air added to the restaurant's charm, setting the perfect backdrop for a memorable culinary journey. Deciding to savor a trio of tacos, shrimp, cochinita pibil, and al pastor – I embarked on a gastronomic adventure that exceeded all expectations. Each taco was a masterpiece in its own right, showcasing the chef's dedication to craftsmanship and flavor harmony. The shrimp taco showcased plump, succulent crustaceans nestled within a delicate homemade tortilla, harmoniously complemented by the crunch of onion, cilantro, and tomato. Following that, the al pastor taco whisked my taste buds away with its layers of marinated pork, roasted to perfection on a vertical spit. Each bite melted in my mouth, a delightful fusion of savory meat, caramelized pineapple, fragrant cilantro, and a hint of smoky chipotle. However, it was the cochinita pibil taco that truly stole the show. Tender, slow-cooked pork infused with a symphony of smoky, earthy flavors and adorned with pickled red onions transported me to the heart of the Yucatán with every bite. Each taco at El Solazo was a culinary revelation, a testament to the chef's dedication to quality ingredients and authentic techniques. From the first bite to the last, every morsel transported me on a sensory journey through the diverse landscapes of Mexico, leaving me eager to explore more of the menu's delights. El Solazo has undoubtedly reclaimed its place as a culinary gem, offering a sophisticated interpretation of traditional Mexican cuisine that delights the senses and leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a connoisseur of fine dining or simply seeking an unforgettable meal, a visit to El Solazo promises an experience that transcends the ordinary and celebrates the extraordinary flavors of Mexico.“
“Can't believe it took us 3 years to find this local gem! The food was amazing, to say the least. We tried the chicken milanesa & steak tortas, and the carne en su jugo - everything was spectacular!! Reminded us of a place that didn't survive the pandemic - so to find another authentic restaurant that puts so much love into what would normally just be a torta, we were ecstatic!! They even make homemade corn tortillas, the flavor which immediately took me to my childhood - soooo good! Worth every penny!Update: Went back today. The tlayuda con carne was amazing!! The presentation was beautiful & the taste was unreal. Too good!! Can't wait to bring my family back!“
