“Holy smokes this place is good, like michelin star good. Me and 3 coworkers arrived around 6pm and they actually had a seat available immediately but it got super busy by the time we left. The service was fantastic, food arrived within minutes of ordering, drinks came extremely fast, the second a plate was finished they were there to clean up and keep things going. Food is meant to be shared here but you can certainly just make a meal out of the items. We ordered at least 10 dishes, all pictured. The beef tartar and the bacon wrapped dates were my favorites along with the desserts. All the dishes and ingredients were purposefully selected and tasted delicious together. I don't know if there was a single bad thing to say about this place.“

“EDIT 03/29/24:Got an email today saying I got a refund for the booking fee as well as the surcharge. I was also told that "The restaurant surcharge is in place to help us offset the rising costs of food, beverage, labor, benefits, supplies, and more. It is added to all checks but can always be removed upon request."I've upgraded my rating to 4/5. I appreciate the response, but I still don't agree with those fees. Just raise your menu prices.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Another toxic Chicago racket. In this one, booking a reservation actually costs you money! Yep - they do not apply the deposit to your final bill or refund it - they just keep the money for you making the reservation. Then, they charge a 3.25% “restaurant surcharge” on your final bill. A surcharge for what exactly??? Covid is over. At least fake it and call it “employee benefit” or some other made up thing. It’s a shame because our waitress was top notch and we would have tipped her 20%, but after deducting the silly surcharge and the deposit it came down to 15%, so good job on screwing over your waitstaff.Vote with your wallet - don’t let them get away with it.“

The A5 Wagyu was more delicious than I imagined, and the oysters are definitely a must-order item at their restaurant. The only issue was personal; I’m someone who doesn’t like being frequently asked "how is everything" while eating. “Update: We were generously welcomed back to Ever for a second go at the experience and it was starkly different and very enjoyable. The food was well executed and the service was incredibly personal. They somehow recognized me and addressed me by first name when entering which was very impressive! Ryan was our sommelier for the evening and his personality and descriptions of the wines were amazing to listen to, and his passion was evident. Paulina's attentiveness and care for our experience was a bright spot as well on the evening. Based on this experience we could definitely recommend Ever, but hopefully you get this the first time around. Thanks Ever team for a great redemption and treating us to a very special evening!Original review for reference:My wife and I dined at Ever for our anniversary this year, and I had contemplated leaving a review but decided to share our experience. We were unfortunately let down. Overall, the food was not what we expected. There were a couple dishes that were very salty, and at least one that just lacked flavor in general. The hamachi was incredible, though, i wish the rest was just as good. The service, although very professional and consice, simply lacked personality and any sense of individualism. It also just felt a bit rushed and that they were on a mission to complete the job. We were asked to supply them with info on special occasions before we arrived, which I did. I expected at least the service staff to be aware of our anniversary but as we walked in the hostess asked us if we were celebrating anything and us telling her was clearly the first time any employee there had heard it. We've dined elsewhere at less rewarded and reputed restaurants where even the valet knew, and we were greeted with a special glass of wine and handwritten note. I don't want to sound pretentious here...but the bill was not light. We spent a significant amount of money at Ever only to leave feeling unfulfilled, and we are not partivularly wealthy. However, we are both in the food industry and looked at this experience as a sort of pilgrimage. Perhaps we should have said something while there but I think we were just a bit shocked. I would not recommend the Ever experience.“

“Truly enjoyed the Puttery experience! We came in on a Saturday during St. Patrick’s day weekend. Fortunately, Ryan advised us to come during a time in which we can enjoy the game and the ambiance. The restaurant/bar area on the 2nd floor was great for eating and obtaining our amazing drinks. They have some of the best mixed drinks in West Loop! The BBQ on Saturday Night was my favorite. We took our drinks to the 3rd floor in the lounge/bar to have a nice, cozy conversation before the game. The patio had some great views of West Loop.We took to the holes when we were all warmed up for our mini golf session. Although the 3rd floor course had flatter and more adventurous areas, the 2nd floor course was more intimate and challenging. There can only be up to 4 people in a traveling group though. My date and I ended up having a fun time.I want to thank Ryan, the manager, for helping to make this a memorable experience. We will be back soon with friends.“

“I LOVE Cindy’s. Been coming here forever. Not sure what the deal is with the silverware. Spending ~$150 on lunch to have a waiter take your fork off your finished oyster plate and put it directly into the table cause you need to “hang onto it” made me wonder if I accidentally went to the Texas Roadhouse. I then got a soup, which was amazing, but didn’t come with a spoon. I asked a lovely young man for one, who then handed to me with the spoon end in his bare hand. It just makes the entire experience feel so tacky. (The silverware they’ve chosen is also terrible and bulky, but that’s really neither here nor there.) I DONT get it. Are they saving water on dishes or something? Make it make sense. You’re ruining the customer experience by simply not replacing silverware between courses. I KNOW it’s busy and tourists can suck, but there’s more than enough support staff to figure this out.“

He should have said something. Errrr. Seats opened at the bar. (Only can order food if seated) We ordered the mussels which had a lemon vermouth sauce. Why get anything else when the was SOO good the first time. I just got the classic little wolf burger and fries. That burger has two patties, cheese, pickles and a mayo with pieces of onion chopped into it. I'm not big on pieces of mayo so I get it on the side. The fries come with a chilli pepper mayo and it's THE BEST. I dip my burger in it. It's not spicy as you would think. The fries are great too. “My first true Michelin experience and it did not disappoint! The staff was excellent and the food was next level. Here's what I had when I visited on 3/6/24:- Caviar with potato, spinach, and smoked sablefish. I was surprised how much I liked this. It was my first time having caviar. It was not overly salted like I expected. It had the perfect amount of salt and the flavors from the smoked fish really pushed it over the top. Possibly my favorite dish from my visit.- Foie Gras Custard. This had a sweet and warm top layer and a cooler bottom layer with persimmons and brioche croutons. Very good and really rich.- Crispy Ricotta Gnudi. These were little semolina pasta filled with ricotta and breaded.- Monkfish and grilled lobster. First time having monkfish. It had good flavor and firm flesh. It actually reminded me of a crustacean. The grilled lobster was cooked perfectly.- Coconut Key Lime Custard. The dessert probably my last favorite dish but was still good. The citrusy and tangy flavor from the lime and lemongrass was so strong that I couldn't taste much of the coconut from the meringue but the white chocolate sorbet helped round it out.The staff also brought out a few more items throughout the service: house bread with cultured butter, an amuse bouche (so buttery, so good), and a truffle (I think) and caramel.I ordered a glass of orange wine and a cocktail (Unique, New York) as well. The cocktail tasted great and the flavors weren't overpowered by too much alcohol. The cocktail does have a bubble with ginger smoke when it's brought out but I was too slow with my camera to capture it.Overall, it was a great dinner. The staff made sure I was being taken care of and the food (possibly with the exception of the dessert) was on point. Well worth the cost for an occasional indulgence ?.“

“My guy and I dined there last night and I can only say that every aspect of this visit was, on a scale from 1 to 5, a 10. Atmosphere, service, cleanliness, promptly being seated AND served with a reservation, courteous waitstaff, and last but not least...every dish we tasted was superbly plated and tasted amazing. We had the restaurant week special with 3 entrees. We chose the pot roast, blackened salmon w/creamed spinach, honey chicken with fried pound cake, short ribs /mashed potatoes, shrimp n grits. Well done! We will be coming back!“

“Eden, located in Chicago, provided a delightful dining experience for my first visit. Arriving late allowed us to secure a table swiftly. I indulged in a couple of dirty martinis to kickstart the evening, accompanied by the exquisite wagyu tartare, which left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied. For the main course, I opted for the crab bucatini, savoring each delectable bite, while my companion thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful chicken dish. The service was exemplary, and the restaurant exuded cleanliness, with the added luxury of real hand towels in the bathrooms, a detail not often found. The ambiance, with its well-thought-out lighting and decor, further elevated the experience. Overall, Eden offered a memorable dining venture, leaving me eager to return for another culinary adventure.“

I would go back just for that, but now I really want to try their other food as well. The menu looks amazing. The atmosphere was cozy yet upscale. I highly recommend this place!“

It was pretty packed since most people were there for brunch and we almost turned around but we were able to get a table as soon as we walked in. We ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich and fries. It was really good. Great atmosphere and our waiter was friendly and very helpful being that it was our first time there. We’ll definitely be returning to try more food options.“

“We visited this establishment for Chicago black restaurants week. According to my partner the fried chicken was phenomenal. The moist cornbread was not sweet with actual corn niblets - which i can appreciate. But the star was the mushroom and grits. I love a good savory vegetarian option. The mushroom had a very nice flavor. I hope this is an actual dish on their standard menu. The atmosphere was warm and would be beautiful during the summer months in Chicago.“

“Are you ready for the 411? Here we go... Are you ready for the 411? Here we go…our son’s rehearsal dinner was hosted at Remington’s. The servers were very good and attentive to our needs. We had one server, who are the New Yorkers appreciated. We did not get her name but completely reminded the New Yorkers in the group of Cardi B. She was sweet, courteous and funny and although she is from Chicago, she would truly make it in the Big Apple with her level of customer service and bubbly personality. My only disappointment was I ordered a mock-tail from a male server and he completely forgot and left me hanging until the main server that was assigned to our party came back and saved my thirst. The aesthetics and food was on point which we all enjoyed. The salmon, prime rib and chicken perfectly seasoned and flavored well. The sides of asparagus and mashed potatoes were excellent.Again, another good restaurant to visit if in Chicago!“

“A not so hidden gem as of late now that reviews are catching up with the imaginative menu and exceptional dining experience Community Tavern has been consistently providing over the past several years. Menu is full of unique dishes… elevated dumpling and noodles are a signature. Beautifully plated and generous- but not overly. Cocktail menu is fun, with zero proof options that are spot on. Save room for baked Alaska. Oh, and ambiance is chic but allows the focus to be where it belongs. On the food. Upscale West Loop experience in modest Portage Park for a lot less and no pretense.“

“Tried this place for the first time because I wanted a bottomless mimosas brunch. I'm no longer at the point to call brunch brunch without bottomless mimosas, but I digress. It was recommended in my research that we make a reservation (it was 2 of us), so I did. We got there shortly after they opened. There were a few parties there but pretty empty, so that was nice. The host was wonderfully welcoming and her French accent really called out the vibe.Service was quick and great. The drinks stayed flowing (they refill your glass). We both ordered the butternut squash soup to start, which was SO GOOD!!! I then ordered the quiche Lorraine while my boyfriend ordered the salmon eggs Benedict. Both were yum. Mine was a small portion but that was good and enough to prevent overeating. He ordered the Alaskan something as a dessert. We got 2 spoons. It was also yum.Street parking was easy at 10:30am on a Sat. Right across the street. Def incentivized to come back with my girls!“
