“This place is so cool. Upscale speak easy. We sat downstairs and if the Rat Pack had strolled in I wouldn't have blinked. The food was amazing. Great steaks cooked to perfection but the stand out was the bone marrow. Great wine list and fairly priced. Go and start with a Martini up (three olives)“
“Love it here! It's pretty difficult to get a reservation, so we tend to go at odd times (late lunch or super early dinner), but we have a great time every time we go. Service is excellent and warm, drinks are gorgeous, every single dish we've eaten here is delicious, but the sticky date cake is the absolute STAR. Would come back just for that.“
“Upon arrival, you are transported to a new and invigorating experience. We sat at the bar in this intimate eatery. We were happy to meet Archie and soak up some of his expertise. I enjoyed one of the best cocktails I've ever had. It had ghost in the name and it is still haunting me. Then we enjoyed some wine from the porron. That was additionally fun. But wait! The food was exquisite. We enjoyed the almonds and olives along with the crudo, followed by the skate and chips. My husband had the crab claw fideos and is still raving about it. Every once in awhile you fall off the earth and into a heavenly experience. MFK is just that. Thanks to all of the staff who contributed to this memorable dining getaway.“
“Eduardo, our server, was absolutely phenomenal. What a nice young man. He made our experience unique and unforgettable. He had fantastic recommendations and was very polite and outgoing. We wish him the best as he's got a bright future ahead of him. I urge everyone to try the filet mignon, prawn, and lobster tail. Don't be afraid to try a varied assortment. Ambience, Construction, Service, & quality were all top notch. Added to the list of repeat restaurants.“
“This was our second visit, and we brought friends from out of town. Paige was such a joy, and so attentive. Amber gave us great wine recommendations. All of the support staff was on top of everything. We had such a truly wonderful experience, I couldn’t recommend it more. It is pricier than what we would normally spend on a dinner, but so worth it. Definitely get the Mezza platter with extra pita, and a lamb dish. What an absolute treat.“
“Great views, portion sizes, and atmosphere. We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance, did not have to wait for a table at all. Food was ok overall - very heavy overall with sauces and oily. It was very fragrant, but not well balanced in that factor - lamb smell was very strong and overpowered every other flavor. Had to wait a while - while the two groups of 2 that came after us one group that came 20 minutes after we were sat got thier food the same time as us after we waited about 30 minutes and they waited about 10. The table that came about 5 minutes after us didn't get thier food even after finished ours an hour later.Wish they had sound dampeners because it was quite loud with all the conversations. A waiter did spill something behind us, soaked my inside jacket with a liquid. Got a monotone "oh no" and walked away, very disappointing. View was nice - but the Propane bonfires were quite crowded.“
“First off, the vibes here are immaculate. The restaurant is located on the second floor of Soho House, and the ambiance is very intimate--perfect for a smaller party. The menu is pretty straightforward. There aren't a lot of options to choose from, but each item is very unique. What we ordered: Caliente en los Trópicos: pretty yummy! Supposed to be spicy, but the spice is not overbearing at all. An interesting cocktail. Ceviche: a great way to start the dinner. Very shareable; love the balance of sour and savory flavors. Tuna Tostada: my favorite! I've never had a tuna tostada before, and it's nothing like what I expected. Mussels: you cannot go wrong with the mussels. The bread goes so well with this. Considering the dishes seem so original and the quick service, I'd definitely recommend this spot to my friends.“
“Happy Birthday to me!Everything was on point!!!The ambience is what you’re looking for to make you feel worth of life’s greatnessThe food received 4 Stars because sometimes when we try too hard to be different, you would do better with simplicity. Some of the food had a bit too much salt ( I eat very little salt) other than this the dishes weee definitely delectables. ?I do recommend this place and I definitely will return“
“A Gastronomic Delight at Gioia Chicago – A Harmonious Fusion of FlavorsRecently, I had the distinct pleasure of dining at Gioia, an unassuming culinary gem nestled in the heart of Chicago. From the inviting ambiance to the impeccable service, Gioia provided an extraordinary dining experience that left an enduring impression on my gastronomic journey.Commencing with the culinary focal point – the food, Gioia's menu encompasses a tantalizing array of Italian dishes, meticulously crafted with precision and care. Livio's, an entrancing seafood dish, served as a prelude to the evening, highlighting the establishment's unwavering commitment to ingredient freshness and culinary finesse. The Carciofi, an artful artichoke creation, and the impeccably crispy Fritto further exemplified Gioia's dedication to culinary excellence. The Polenta at Gioia transcended expectations, offering a luxuriously textured and rich palate that flawlessly complemented the robust flavors. The Cacio e Pepe, a seemingly simple yet sophisticated dish, captured the quintessence of classic Italian cuisine. The Milanese, boasting a perfectly breaded and fried exterior, was a manifestation of Gioia's culinary prowess.Transitioning to the realm of desserts, the Crème brûlée and Tiramisu emerged as sublime delicacies, each spoonful unveiling layers of decadence and sweetness. These desserts are unequivocally a requisite for those with an affinity for the saccharine. To accompany the epicurean journey, Gioia offers an artfully curated selection of beverages designed to harmonize with the flavors of the dishes. The 520 Insoglio del Cinghiale, a red wine boasting robust and velvety notes, heightened the dining experience. For aficionados of caffeinated indulgence, the Espresso Martini and Jungle Cat served as a fitting denouement to the culinary symphony. The solicitous and erudite staff at Gioia contributed to the overall enchantment of the evening. For those seeking an authentic slice of Italy amidst the urban bustle of Chicago, Gioia emerges as the epitome of culinary excellence.“
“Dinner was great, but the service wasn't. We had to wait at least 40 minutes before our server came to our booth. Too her defense, she was apologetic and included a free desert item for our trouble. However, the damage was done, I mean forty minutes is a long time, especially when you're hungry. The Manager (Zach) gave me a free drink with my cigar, which I enjoyed in the restaurant's cigar bar. Overall, I rate the experience a 4 star because the staff did put forth an effort to accommodate us, but that wait in the beginning was brutal. The fact they have a cigar lounge is unique. You don't see that everywhere. It's definitely a plus for cigar lovers.“
“Delicious food as always and service with a smile. Shaws is unique with a nice atmosphere and a welcome departure from other big name chains in the city. Our waitress on this occasion was a little pushy and I can say that is the first time I've experienced this in my many visits.“
“Stopped in for a meatless Friday and had the best lobster in all of Chicago! The perfectly toasted bun was LOADED with luscious chunks of lobster and a homemade sauce that put it over the top. Also tried the fish sandwich was absolutely perfect. Started with oysters on the half shell were so succulent and salty that those alone I will be back for. Met the coolest owner who made us a killer craft bourbon infused cocktail that started our lunch out just right. Definitely my new favorite spot!“
“A Culinary Symphony: Gibsons Italia Delivers a Chicago FeastNestled along the iconic Chicago River, Gibsons Italia stands as a testament to the city's culinary prowess. Recently, I had the pleasure of indulging in an exquisite dining experience at this esteemed establishment, and suffice it to say; it left an indelible mark on my palate. From the moment I stepped foot into Gibsons Italia, I was enveloped in an ambiance of sophistication and warmth. The sleek, modern décor juxtaposed against panoramic views of the bustling cityscape created an inviting and cosmopolitan atmosphere. My culinary journey began with the Chicken Parmesan, a dish that transcended mere comfort food and elevated it to an art form. Each succulent bite of tender chicken, enveloped in a crispy coating and smothered in rich marinara sauce and melted cheese, was a symphony of flavors that danced on my tongue. It was a dish that paid homage to tradition while embracing innovation, a true testament to the culinary expertise of the Gibsons Italia kitchen.Equally impressive was the Steak Salad, a harmonious blend of premium cuts of steak, crisp greens, and vibrant seasonal vegetables. The steak, cooked to perfection, boasted a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness complemented beautifully by the freshness of the salad components. Every bite was a celebration of quality ingredients and impeccable craftsmanship. What struck me most about my dining experience at Gibsons Italia was the exceptional food and the undeniable sense of pride and passion permeating every aspect of the restaurant. From the attentive service to the meticulous attention to detail in each dish, it was evident that Gibsons Italia was committed to delivering an unforgettable culinary experience. One thought resonated as I savored the last morsel of my meal and reflected on the gastronomic journey I had just embarked upon: Chicago truly knows how to do food right. Gibsons Italia pays homage to the city's rich culinary heritage and elevates it to new heights, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Chicago's culinary excellence.“
“The attention to detail this restaurant has is unmatched. Was greeted with complimentary soup and each table was purposely separated by a translucent curtain. Food was fantastic, and great portions for an upscale meal. Must visit if you want an intimate, romantic dining “
“I saw the chef on a local tv show and had to come out and support: My waiter was not the most attentive. Great guy but he didn’t keep a steady flow of drinks and/or food. Since they didnt have Uncle Nearest (insert side eye emoji), I ordered a Basil Hayden Old Fashioned…IT WAS AMAZING. Next up: West Coast oysters. Kumamoto horrible to me (tasted like a fish market…yuk). I loved the Kusshi BC oysters. They were small oysters with a perfect balance of fresh with a punch of salt. Then I was served the yellowtail jalapeño roll and hellfire roll. Everytime I put one in my mouth, I wanted to slap my momma. It was delicious. The spicy paired with the crunch in the hellfire roll….the flavor. Omgahhhh. It was amazing. I will definitely return with friends! I can’t wait until the summer months. I wouldn’t recommend the brownie desert. For the brownie cake, they don’t give you enough ice cream (I’m talking a baby scoop of u e cream).“
“Delicious and wonderful atmosphere. Staff was attentive and friendly. Restaurant had many private areas to dine, so nice for conversation. We loved all we ordered: black orchid cocktails, goat cheese mushroom ravioli, crab cakes, scallops on risotto. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience. Take elevator up to top floor for stunning view after dinner. :)“
“Fantastic experience at Diego. We went for Brunch, and the ambiance is really nice during the day. We were able to sit in their enclosed and heated patio, where the garage doors open into a unique and eclectic space playing fun music. The food is mouth-watering; the breakfast tacos have soft eggs that melt in your mouth, and the carne asada burrito has fries inside that give it a delicious crunch. Both dishes were also full of flavor. The chips and salsa were freshly made and crisp, while the drink menu is versatile and authentic. The staff is extremely welcoming; the owner/manager conversed with many of the customers, making Diego an extremely friendly atmosphere. They are dog-friendly, posting pictures and videos of canine guests on their social media page, while also taking Polaroid photos of the dogs to hang on the wall. 10/10 would return and recommend!“
“All the hype for this restaurant did not disappoint.Seafood tower is a must. It’s the best thing on the menu aside from the steaks. We normally do not order seafood tower because it’s served cold. Not from here. It’s got steamed and served warm with smokiness that just adds to the flavor. This place is also good for any type of celebration since they do offer birthday sign on a menu that you can bring home. It’s on the pricier side but great for special night outs.“
“The setting is great. We were there for lunch and found the range of options adequate. I enjoyed the clam chowder. We split a Ceasar salad which had too little dressing and thus, too subtle. Service brought more dressing on the side and it addressed out concern. We also split the tenderloin sliders and were delighted that they cooked each tenderloin to our specific wishes.“
“This is truly a 5-star ? establishment. Everything they do is top shelf. This is now my go-to and the prices are well worth it. There is a guy who is waiting to get dishes, silverware, and anything that you don't need out of your way. It makes for a more comfortable eating experience. Thank you to the Staff.“
“This place is popular according to their Michelin Guide recommendation, but they're just average compared to any other Chinese dimsum place in town. The service is really good and can get crowded on a weekend night. On a Saturday night, I had to wait maybe an hour.On a Saturday morning. No wait with a party of 3.They validate parkingParking: Use the chinatown lot. They validate“
“Hugo’s has the best sea food in Chicago. They can cook fish or seafood anyway you want it. Such talent. The clam chowder soup is the best I have ever tasted. The service is better than outstanding. If you need something it will arrive before you ask. Dessert huge chocolate mousse slice can feed five people or a lemon meringue slice is heavenly. If you drive door service valet parking. When in Chicago this is the first stop.“
“Only complaint is the picking and choosing of who they will seat before the entire party arrives. It should be an all or nothing because people will certainly feel a type of way.The handwritten note they give for special occasions is a very nice gesture. We were recommended this restaurant, the service and food were delicious! The assistants to the waiters are on it! The food, staff and ambiance is five star.“
“Just had our best dinner so far in Chicago at The Dearborn. We tried the bone marrow (never had it before) and it was delicious. We also ordered the fried Chicken which was insanely crispy and tasty as well as the fish and chips. The fish portion was huge and just so light, crispy and delicious, best fish and chips I've ever had in my life. Finally our server Cooper, he was funny, attentive and charismatic . Outstanding experience!“
“Totally enjoyed dinner at Lena Brava! The host was super friendly, the meal was delicious. We had the empanadas, the chips and guacamole, the bass fish with the tacos and it was all a 100%. Couldn’t eat the oysters but my friends loved it. Service was incredible, drinks were great. 100% “
“Love this place. Just the smell of the smoker upon approach is enough to brighten my mood. The smoked salmon and whitefish are beyond incredible. The fried smelt are also amazing, as is their fried codfish sandwich. I'm looking forward to trying all the other types of smoked fish available, the various salads, and everything else on their fried food menu. Again, I love this place.“
“Lawrence fish market always hits the spot. I don’t think I’d ever get tired of them! I don’t know how many times I’ve ordered from them before, but I’ve definitely ordered 6+ times. My man and I always get some kind of Maki tray and some extra rolls. 10/10, so worth it. It’s cash only btw!!“
“We came here for a casual dinner. Ordered a buffalo sandwich and a grilled white fish dish. The seasonal apple salad was tasty but the other ones were okay - not bad but nothing too impressive. I’d probably come back here for happy hour to enjoy the drinks and good vibes. I was not too impressed with the “
“My friend and I had a delicious Sunday lunch here. This was my third visit, and my friend's first. She can't eat spicy-hot food, and ordered the Curry Plate with Chicken Traditional and Lamb Traditional, very mild. She loved it. We had an order of Samosas, which were the best I've ever had. With a very nice crust, not oily, and fully stuffed with garlicky mashed potatoes and peas. I ordered Cauli Madness, because I love cauliflower and spicy food. It's a side, but comes with rice, or paratha. I got the rice, so it's good as an entree, and it's a very large portion. We also ordered garlic naan which was fresh and hot, and delicious. And two excellent mint teas. We brought leftovers home and will definitely return. Sorry, I didn't take photos - next time. Go check it out for yourself!“
“Absolutely would go again! The signature tacos were crispy, juicy, really tasty, and very filling. Perfect amount of spiciness for me.The house margarita was on spot!Booth the waitress and cook were very attentive and made me feel very welcome ?I had such a good time I forgot to take pictures. Thanks again for the lunch!“
“First time at Lil Baba Reeba and the service and food was fantastic! We had the best waiter named Eslam who really added to the whole experience. Eslam patiently described each dish we inquired about and helped us with some great suggestions. We will definitely be back!“
“Great place to start my St Patrick's Day. Perfect location - I saw the Chicago River turned green while upstairs. The staff was very cool and well-prepared for the rapidly increasing number of bar hoppers like myself.Darts booths can be reserved, but there are also first-come-first-serve boards available on the first level. I will definitely be back next time I visit Chicago.“
“Costumer service was incredible. We were 20 mins late for our reservation and even though they were busy they still accommodate us. The food was ready super fast and everything we tried was delicious. Great amount of food and dessert was the best.“
“Had the gyro dinner and it was amazing ?The place is always busy during lunch. The ladies providing service are always outstanding and provide energetic service :)I have come here many times and I can honestly say all the menus items are delicious . Gyro sandwich or dinner is always my go too.The steak sandwich is also great :)Place is always clean and the food is always consistent .Urfavorite_realtor“
“Came to this restaurant by myself and sat at the bar. The waitress Karen was so sweet and amazing. She recommended good food. Also Miguel and Josh both bartenders were really friendly and attentive. He recommended me the Mexican candy! Great drink. Also Derek the manager came by and made sure everything was good. Amazing hospitality. Definitely will be coming back. Really great staff!“
“Great experience overall for a client dinner!Grateful the restaurant staff was willing to be flexible with our arrival time since my client was running late due to traffic. Service was great. NY strips were cooked perfectly, unfortunately the skirt steak was overcooked, but still tasty!“
“A bit pricey but so many places are anymore.Had a special cup of soup, didn't realize we could've ordered a bowl (tiny cup), and each ordered a different salad. He shared his chicken as I didn't realize my salads primary protein was bacon (my fault). They were both great and kept us mostly full til 5.“
“Food was hot, flavorful, and served fast! Automatic tea with the table which was SUPER good. BYOB, but there’s a Target across the street and they provide glasses. Seems like a popular local and tourist spot. Def recommend!Wheelchair accessibility: Two relatively wide doors to get through on a slight ramp, but I witnessed both a wheelchair user and cane user navigate the doors and restaurant with no problem. Staff was attentive to holding doors, pulling out tables, and asking if they needed anything else for their meal.“
“I ordered the taco dinner with al pastor and steak. The portions were well served and the salsas they have are tasty. They bring out a small bowl of soup when you sit down and it was great way to start the meal. The micheladas are also great. I will definitely return and try something from their seafood menu“
“Came here to celebrate my friend passing his finals Lol. Really chill place overall ! We got to catch up on a lot of things. The only reason why im not giving it 5/5 was because the food took a little long to come out. Overall it was all good, especially the drinks they had ! Thanks guys !“
“Well-priced dim sum spot in Chinatown that serves dim sum all day. They have all the traditional dishes but their siu mai is probably one of their best dishes, a perfect blend of shrimp and pork. They also have a lot of options for main or side dishes that one can order as well from a separate menu. They serve chrysanthemum tea.Service is fast and the servers speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, although one can order by marking the menu“
“As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by a warm and energetic greeting from the hostess/owner. From there the experience only got better. Food was delicious (I got the steak sandwich and tortitas) and service was excellent. I also thought that the prices were very fair for the great quality and taste of the food. 5/5, definitely going back soon!“
“Happy to have caught their happy hour today, 4-6pm. Got to try more of their dishes and all great! Their lobster rolls were so go last time, we wanted to check out more of their menu. Such a good option to have near the Millennium Park area!“
“Best BYOB sushi in west town, located close to liquor store. They have endless selection of rolls from simple maki to signature rolls. The variety will blow your mind - no kidding! The staff is very friendly and food comes out quickly from the kitchen. We like to dine in here or order pick “
“An amazing hidden gem in the heart of Albany Park! There are few Colombian restaurants in Chicago, but this one competes to be on the top. The arroz paisa is a pleasure if you are a meat lover. The arepas are huge and delicious. Portions are what you pay for. Bring an appetite!“
“This is a really nice place to go for a celebration. Really fancy and upscale sort of vibe. Free coat-check, stuff like that. We had a reservation and were seated pretty much right away. The menu is a bit pricey (for instance, the bread cost money but it did have cheese in it). I will say that almost everything we ordered was incredible. I would avoid the mac-n-cheese. It was bland. But the steak, beef wellington, and meatloaf were amazing. We got the cheapest bottle of wine (because why not?) for $60. You can buy that same bottle at Walgreens for $12. Not judging, just putting that information out there. I'm not much of a wine person, so maybe the higher end stuff is priced better. I had a few sidecars and they were good. The prices may be a bit high, but I will say that we all left feeling very full and still each had a to-go box.The staff was very nice and helpful. Our server was busy but kind and attentive.Overall, we had a great time here and will definitely be back for celebrations and special occasions.“
“Great food, the chicken was outstanding and the service couldn’t be better. It had this comforting atmosphere and wouldn’t change a thing about it!Kid-friendliness: The owner is very kindhearted and trustworthy! He treated my son very kindly and even helped him by giving suggestions based on his favorite foods!“
“Hands down best neighborhood seafood joint in the city. Always busy, but doesn't negatively impact service. Atmosphere is casual "Wisonsin"; nothing fancy, just comfortable! Started off with oysters on the half shell. Then had snow and king crab, clam chowder, steamed shrimp and crusted tuna (which was cooked perfectly!) Will definetly be going back!“
“Delicious food and drinks! We have been coming to this beautiful restaurant for over 20 years and it only gets even better. New dishes added all the time and happy hour dinner and drink specials. Enormous vegetarian and vegan menu items. And the servers are impeccably trained and fun.“
“Do not listen to anyone who gives this place anything less than 5 stars. They are wrong and clearly have very bad taste in life.Au contraire, Chef’s Special does everything right- it’s a beautiful space (+ patio when the weather’s nice), cool bar, stellar rotating dinner, dessert & drink menu, my fave happy hour and even the freakin’ bathroom.. I would live in.I will never not order the crab rangoon, green beans, egg rolls, dan dan noods and sweet potatoes. Their ube custard makes me feel things love never has.Chelsea, Terry and all the staff whose names I do not know (and I’m sorry for that!!) are wonderful- charming, knowledgeable, friendly, talented.Lifelong customer cuz I’m nothing special, too ;) thanks for all the good times, behind and ahead.“
