“Go there. Beats subway. I needed to pick up something from the nearby Home Depot on my way home and stopped in. The sub was great. “I know this is not gonna be popular, but it tasted exactly like the food you find in a hospital canteen or high school lunchroom. And I gotta think someone else has had the same observation because there is a sign in the bathroom that reads something like they are cool with you believing your mother's chicken salad is better. Well, there is a lot of truth to that. And my mom's is much better... and my mom is a terrible cook. The food was just ok. I think people go here for the kitsch and the down home sayings onto the wall. The staff was awesome. However, being greeted by a newspaper clipping featuring Paula Deen... well, just not sure that endorsement has aged well. Look, the place is spotlessly clean and the employees were incredible, but the food wasn't nearly as special as they claim it to be. We tried the potato soup, broccoli soup, pimento cheese, chicken salad and desserts. I will try it again and update my review if the food knocks my socks off.“
“If you want a really yummy sandwich, this is the place to go! They will make it anyway you want, plus they have the usual favorites. I love it because they warm it up! The sub roll is my favorite bread. It's always fresh and soft. The staff are always friendly. It's decorated with lots of fireman pictures and signs. It's laid back and clean. But the best part is when you eat here, you're helping out the firemen! Win Win!“
“The food is some of the best around. However, it gets annoying being ask would you like to round up to donate. Because, 1)their prices are high enough, 2) I have been rounded up 92 cents. I always donate, but maybe they should lower their prices. And, though I like their sandwiches, I am always reminded why I end up going to the other sandwhich places instead.“
