“This restaurant defines family dining. The owner named my daughter after a decade of not seeing her... Delicious food with phenomenal service! I highly recommend the breakfast special cinnamon roll french toast combo! THANKS AGAIN ANDY'S FAMILY!!!“
“My kids and I love this place! It’s the only place in town where my dairy free family has zero issues eating great food. It makes my life so easy! Plus, the outdoor seating is perfectly situated so that toddlers can eat and watch trains…it’s perfect for us! The food is great! The staff is just awesome! We’re big big fans and will be. Ack again and again.“
“If you're looking for an American fare restaurant the Around the Clock Restaurant is a great choice. They have a fairly typical American style menu with a little bit of something for everyone, and the small bakery area has a good enough variety to soothe anyone's sweet tooth. My wife and I both had skillets and although my wife didn't necessarily like something about her steak (maybe the marinade?), we did generally enjoy our meals. I mean, they're skillets, so there isn't much to judge as most skillets are very similar and hard to mess up. The service was great, we were checked on quite a few times during our meal, with our waters being filled without having to ask. We would definitely eat here again if we're passing through Crystal Lake.“
“Great food and staff. Love going here! Kosta is an amazing server! He is on top of everything no matter how busy it is. He makes you feel like you're the only table he has. Friday and Saturdays are busy but if you get there at the perfect time, there's no wait!“
“The gentlemen at the counter were courteous, enthusiastic about their products, and very entertaining. I could have stayed all day! They had a sample platter with turkey and ham salad, bread slices, and pimento cheese spread. It was delectable. I can't wait to go back with my girlfriends and enjoy a quaint lunch in their café.“
“Celebrated my fiancé 30th birthday there and it was the best. Kenny made sure we had everything set days before the party, showed up to the party to help out and make sure everything was great. He would keep up with checking in every so often which was nice to have the owner involved and actually care how it was all going. The bartenders were super awesome and made sure to check on everyone who was in the golf simulator on drinks and food. Overall I’m so thrilled we did his party there. Would 100% recommend lulu’s to anyone who is looking for a nice, clean, laidback vibe and overall fun. Thank you guys for being so awesome!“
“Places like these are based on service. Of course the food is great and the atmosphere is busy with great ambiance and the music is tasteful. But our server, Nick is the reason i will frequent this place until i die. He was attentive. Not once did i have to ask for a drink refill. Not once did i have to ask if the food would be ready and this was a Saturday night and the place was packed. For a young man like Nick to have such a positive attitude and suggest such great choices for us to eat, it’s unheard of these days. We had so much fun and were well entertained. I really hope he’s there next time we go. I look forward to it dining there again. Thank you, Nick.“
“I've attended and hosted many events at The Quarry over the years. It's a beautiful space where I've made many memories and met new friends. Several years ago I hosted a surprise party for my sister's birthday and the Quarry staff made everything so seamless so all I had to do was show up with the guest of honor. They are so thoughtful and accommodating and really know how to throw a good party! I HIGHLY recommend this venue. I've also been here for drinks after SUP yoga or a nice longe bike ride in the summer. It's so fun to enjoy a nice drink in the sand and the fire pit is such a nice touch. The prices are a little high, but it's to be expected with such a unique venue with tons of free amenities like live music, sand volleyball, and baggo. Totally worth it in my opinion. Also, their themed events are always so much fun with awesome decor, live entertainment, pop-up booths, and delicious themed drinks. My favorites are the Galentines event, the Speakeasy, and the Mother's Day event.“
“It's a small bar on the corner of Berkshire and Virginia Rd. Cutoff. I didn't get the chance to order food. Good place to grab a drink. It has a patio/deck for outside seating. Limited seating at bar, some table seating offered. When I went, the place was full in the parking lot and full inside. I remember this place being the old Frank N Stein. Its interesting what they did to the place and from what I remembered of business that use to be in there. Stop in and have a drink or nibble... It's a small interesting place. Update 03/08/2023 - Had Italian Beef, Fries and tatter tots... Excellent. Long Island ice teas are a great finisher. ?“
“The order was brought quickly. My husband loves to order fish here. The staff is very friendly. Everyone is good-natured. I like this kind of service. The only negative is the constant smell of fried meat and fish in the room, probably the air hoods need to be “
“I was there for a fundraiser last night. The food was really good, especially your salsa! Our server was attentive and kept track of our large group really well. We hadn't been there for a long time but will definitely be back again! Thank you so much.“
“Duke's Ale House stands out as a certified green restaurant, showcasing a commitment to sustainability by sourcing ingredients predominantly from local farmers practicing organic or sustainable farming methods. The establishment boasts an inviting atmosphere complemented by an impressive craft cocktail and beer selection. The meatloaf with mashed potatoes and the fish fry with homemade French fries are notable highlights, offering a delightful culinary experience. The chicken sandwich, observed at a neighboring table, adds to the anticipation for our next visit. Duke's Ale House emerges as a highly recommended dining destination worth exploring.“
“The food is OUTSTANDING. The beer can chicken was so delicious! We ordered online, and to no fault of the restaurant’s- the app we ordered on never sent a delivery person to pick up the order. The restaurant sent their own person out to deliver it to us (in a different town even), which they absolutely did not have to do. They even re-made the food (again not their fault) to make sure we had fresh, hot food that was delivered. It was so fantastic, we had to immediately write a review because we loved it so much. Highly highly recommend.“
“My wife and I had dinner on Saturday, March 23 at The Cottage in Crystal Lake before a show at the Raue Center. It's a pub atmosphere. Very nice. They brought us popcorn and peanuts while we viewed the menu. Had the Saturday special, 6 oz. filet with a baked potato, mushrooms, broccoli, bread roll. Steak was perfectly cooked and tender. Potato was best I've had in a long time. My wife had the steak salad. Steak was thinly cut and tender. All in all, meal was delicious and perfectly portioned.“
“If you like wings this the place to go. Lots of sauce options and they will do whatever you want on your food order. The wings are bigger than other chains and aren't dried out. Great sides and the blue cheese dressing is the bomb. Super thick and creamy. I ate at the bar and Chrissy and Agnes are very attentive and nice. Lots of televisions to watch sports. The establishment is clean and is family friendly. The beer on tap is cold, fresh and clean. No yucky chlorine/soap taste from unproperly cleaned lines or glasses. They offer points which is great for future purchases“
“The food, portions and value are pretty good. The wait staff can be hot or miss, but I would put that more on management for not training (i.e. knowing menu/specials, checking in once in a while, laws for packaging remainder of wine bottle, etc.). Not a USDA Prime steakhouse, but decent. Would love to rate higher, but honestly only deserving of 3.5-4 stars in my opinion.“
“Love eating at this place! Great food for either dining in or carry out. On Tuesdays the dining area is closed and they just have a drive-through "buy one get one free" pizza deal which we participate on a regular basis. The workers are very friendly and food is always good. Also they have peanuts you can eat and toss the shells on the floor which pairs well with the Northwoods, rustic themed atmosphere.“
“Chilis is a favorite spot for my kids when we go out with Grandma and Grandpa! My youngest has some severe allergies and he is now old enough that he wants to be ordering his own kids meal when we eat out. The manager and staff were so kind and accommodating on our last visit and let us know the items that were safe for him. We are happy to have another place where we know we can safely order food together as a family. My little guy was so proud to be able to order his own kids meal. My kids also LOVE their chips and salsa.“
“Pricey, pricey, pricey! At least for bar food. The drink specials were decent and there's a bunch of options for beer. We were here for a post-season celebration and we had the upstairs to ourselves. The service was great and attentive. The food was good, the standard greasy spoon you expect in a place like this. The vibe was loud, but not overwhelming, so the perfect environment to watch a game. I'll be back.“
“Always fast and fresh. But the last two times we went, our beefs are never dipped when we ask for it. Thats a bummer. But they are always good at getting the orders together correctly, like we get all things but the minute errors happen. Food still tastes good though.“
“Five stars all around for this wonderful restaurant! As first time diners we weren't sure what to expect as all dishes are gluten-free, however every dish was delicious and satisfying. Our party started with 2 very tasty appetizers of Mussels and Cheese Curds. We then enjoyed the House and Seasonal Salads, both having a wonderful honey mustard vinaigrette. For an added touch, the Seasonal Salad was topped with goat cheese. I can't say enough about our entrees. Not only were the presentations well done, all tasted as wonderful as they looked! The Skate Wing with Snap Peas was a mild white meat fish, with caper brown butter sauce. The Short Rib was perfectly done and topped with brown sugar glaze. The Hanger Steak, ordered medium rare, had a roasted peppered chutney, charred on the outside, and two roasted whipped sweet potatoes. Our meal was topped off with the Julian's Frozen Custard dessert and espresso. The restaurant itself is somewhat small, with a cozy and charming feel to it so reservations are a must! Our service thruout the evening was exceptional so kudos to the attentive staff. A final note there is additional parking across the street so take advantage when the main lot is full. Will definitely be dining here again!“
