We had a 50th anniversary party for our parents scheduled at another restaurant that overbooked us. We frantically searched for somewhere comparable six days before the event. Fortunately, we found Gatto’s. It was not comparable; it was far superior than our original restaurant. I honestly expected it to feel like they were doing us a favor by hosting our party. Shame on me as this review is long overdue!! Gatto's Downers Grove catered my sons wedding and it was phenomenal!! These days, venues are the new thing, but nothing is included in the venue rental. That had me a bit concerned as the venue kitchen was minimal to say the least. Everyone at the Wedding raved about the food, the servers, the service, and the bartenders. We decided to dine here last minute on Valentine’s Day w/o a reservation and was able to be seated within 2 minutes. Food was good as always. We did get charged twice due to a glitch in the system but it was rectified within a few days, no problems. Nice place for a casual family dinner.Kid-friendliness: Children were still dining close to closing time.
