“A charming Mexican restaurant right off the highway. It has a nice atmosphere with paintings on all the walls and plants on ledges.I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was well seasoned (though definitely on the salty side) and the mixture of rice and cheese was wonderful. Very filling. I also ordered the fried ice cream. It is good, but misleading. It's not actually ice cream IN fried dough, but rather, a scoop of ice cream on top of a fried tortilla shell. Worth trying. The service was okay. Our waiter was attentive when he stopped by, but it was a busy lunch period, so we were waiting a while to place our orders. Then, we waited a long time for the orders to be fulfilled.Overall, would recommend for a nice lunch outside of their busy periods.Vegetarian options: Most of the menu items have a choice of meat options to include. You could just as easily opt out of adding meat.Parking: Free parking in a plaza. Plaza can get busy near the restaurant, so the available parking might be a little far away.“
“I just love the gorgeous carved wood furniture and the people are just amazing. Best shrimp nachos ever! I love to dine in (the queso is perfection) and to order carry out when i don't have time to sit. Always such a treat!Vegetarian options: Such a great Vegatarian menu, I always go for the Tosta-guac, yum!Dietary restrictions: As somebody who is severely gluten intolerant I love this place. There aren't too many places I can safely eat and I have such a large selection! Queso is the only really good, really safe cheese dip. And sub any flour tortilla with chips and you're golden! Don't forget to ask for jalapeños! They have fresh and pickled Kid-friendliness: They are wonderful with kids and even have some treats for purchase at the register. I used to take the baby here when she was tiny, she would eat handfuls of my rice and beans and chips. Such a great oasis to relax and enjoy some amazing hot food. The outside seating is also quite lovely.“
“Taco johns has become my default Mexican restaurant. They've got some pretty great deals, and their burritos are sublime. Every item I've tried has been fantastic. I've tried most of the menu at this point, I would say the burritos are the main things driving me back in. But the tacos are alright, if a little boring.Taco John, if you had something like the taco bell Doritos tacos you would probably get me in even more. More flavor options for the tacos would be great.Everything about Taco Johns is starchy, but that just makes it much better after a night of drinking with friends.Be the envy of your friends and order for an NFL game, or DnD night, doesn't matter. It can be Taco Tuesday any day.“
“It's like Chipotle with a few more options and queso. They seem to be but with staffing issues, as the dining room was dirty and the soda machines were busted and out of ice.Parking: Building the Freddy's killed traffic flow and took up a lot of parking.“
“Birria tacos were great and the Carne asada burrito was probably the best I've tried in town. The beans were a little runny(doesn't bother me though) but the Spanish rice was well seasoned and perfectly fluffy(best ive had down here period.). Guy in the front was friendly and it was clean.“
