A very long overdue review, but Hunan Spring is my favorite place to go for Chinese food in Evanston. I'm lucky enough to live essentially right next door, and when I want something quick and delicious, there they are! I especially appreciate the lunch specials. About $10 will get you an entree, side of fried rice (which I sometimes sub for white rice), and your choice of eggroll or soup. I usually have enough left over for a second meal later. I highly recommend their fried rice and anything from their wok. I always get their shrimp fried rice. They load it with decent sized shrimp that is perfectly cooked and fresh tasting. Rice is great; it's got that authentic subtle smokiness from the 'wok hei'. Not overpowering not too salty. Nice clean interiors. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Great food. Nice portions. Always ready on time. This is our Chinese go-.to. We drive 20 minutes for it even though other places are closer. We always get Szechuan chicken, chicken with broccoli, hot and sour soup and almond cookies. All are delicious.
