“Great food..get the cheesecake if its not sold out....the staff is super friendly. Some local regulars are brain dead but most people are normal and good to talk to. Fun atmosphere to have some drinks and some food.”
“My husband's birthday was great, thanks to La Pizza Via! With Ben's help, I surprised him on a Tuesday after work with an intimate dinner gathering with a few close friends in their dining area. It was the perfect setting for a quick surprise celebration. Ben took care of absolutely everything, from the ambiance to the food. All I had to do was send out invitations and get my husband there! The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. We can't recommend La Pizza Via enough – it's a wonderful spot for a special occasion.”
“Tucked away in the charming town of Fox River Grove, El Sombrero stands as a beacon of authentic Mexican cuisine. It's not just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey to the heart of Mexico. The menu is a delightful showcase of Mexican flavors. Each dish, from the tangy and tantalizing Alambre to the heartwarming Siete Mares, bursts with authenticity. The Fajitas De Cameron are a must-try - perfectly seasoned, with a balance of sweet and spicy that dances on the palate. And let's not forget the fresh made guacamole, adding a light touch to your meal. The service deserves its own accolades. The staff at El Sombrero are not just servers; they're ambassadors of Mexican hospitality. Their recommendations are spot on, and their attention to detail is impeccable. You're never left wanting for anything, yet the service is never intrusive. For those in Fox River Grove and the surrounding areas, El Sombrero is more than a dining spot. It's a local gem where the flavors of Mexico are served with love and pride. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, you'll leave with a satisfied belly and a longing to return. In short, El Sombrero is a testament to the richness of Mexican cuisine and the warmth of its people. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic, flavorful, and joyous dining experience.”
“Nice bar with a large pool/darts area. They have slot machines as well. Drinks are reasonably priced and on certain days they have deals. Haven't tried the food yet but it looks good. The menu is fairly extensive so there are plenty of options. Looking forward to trying the food next time. The staff are awesome too.”
“Food and service was very good. They are super friendly and accommodating! The sushi and appetizers were very yummy and the presentation was a pleasant surprise! Highly recommend!”
“Had breakfast here for the first time and was not disappointed! The hash browns and the corned beef hash were perfectly crispy. All for a great price too. Will def be back!”

“They say everything is made when you order it and it feels like it. Food is hot and tasty. Also, they have frozen custard and cheese curds so you know I'm happy.”
“Starbucks itself is overpriced and a corporation that profits. The employees at Starbucks are the real gift and they've made my morning a good morning everyday for as many years as I can recount. I love matcha green tea with brown sugar syrup. They make it so well at this location, but make sure you tip the staff please until Starbucks is ready to pay its employees a livable wage. TIP YOUR BARISTAS IF YOU CAN - THEY MAKE THE WORLD GO ROUND. Love, a fanViktoria Cowen”
“Okay so I've ordered from this particular location probably over 50-100 times and while I have never had poor customer service I don't think I can say that I've ever had great customer service. Until my call with Matt. Said he's been there a couple months and he was not only very polite but sounded pleasant and like he knew what he was doing. Made the whole process really simple and pleasant. The food is always good too, rarely have I ever had any bad bread or missed toppings and if I have they hooked me up the next time.”
“Came here this morning and was helped by Caitlyn. Such a kind, generous young girl at the cash register! She was very patient and so helpful, I really hope her work doesn’t go unnoticed! Juana by the counter was also very warm and welcoming.”
“Ordered a breakfast sandwich and two coffees. Order was correct and quickly served. Location is on the first floor and has a drive-thru, which I used when ordering. It was early in the morning so there was no line or waiting.Vegetarian options: They do have veg sandwichesKid-friendliness: It's DD, how can it not be kid friendly ?Parking: Plenty of spots”
“This location has greatly improved over the last couple years. The staff is always friendly. Orders are correct. I love the app and being able to order before I get there.”
“Authentic Italian flavors and hospitality. Virginia S. represented your establishment very well. Knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent dining experience that we hope to enjoy again soon.”
“A suburban gem! The appetizers are so good and a wonderful way to start a meal. We have been here for two special occasions and have enjoyed the whole dining experience.”
“The owner took great care of us knowing I had a longer drive home with the pizzas by giving us extra hot honey packets, extra sauce, and not cutting the pizza beforehand. The pizza (hell raiser and the kids loved their cheese pizza) was outstanding, as expected based on the great reviews, I just wish we had even more and were closer because now we dont have leftovers!”
“This place is really good and super fresh. I have now come here 5 times and just brought my husband and kids today. 3 of us got bowls, one got a Cali salad burritoand we all shared the Hawaiian chicken noodles- all excellent! plus they checked to make sure we were good a couple times! “What a delight! We went for my son’s 5th birthday and it was phenomenal! The show kept the attention of my two yo (which says enough in and of itself). The falconry was spectacular, the horse work was true craftsmanship, and the nights gave a wonderful performance. Greatest thanks to our “man wench” Christopher who made this evening truly special. His attention to character, wittiness, and above and beyond service made the evening truly a night to remember! We look forward to coming again.”
“This place has great food and drinks! The ambiance could be warmer but it's worth the visit. The times I've been there I sat in the bar area and the service was great. Friendly people”
“We love to try different restaurants and I would say this place is one of the best Ramen places we’ve been to. The food is delicious and the staff are very nice. We will come back again for sure. Highly recommended if you wanted to try ramen.”
“I’m a photographer and I like to edit my pictures at coffee shops while sipping on my iced latte? This place hits the spot! I recommend coming here if you want to do some work while drinking coffee and listening to some music. They play very chill music as well ! Service was great, the barista was helpful. I liked the coffee?? very refreshing”
“Very friendly people work here and make you welcome from the get-go.Had the chorizo casserole. It was delicious and filling. Had a $2 16oz Hamms as well. They had PBR and Stroh's as well.In addition, they have poker machines for entertainment.”
“Several creative desserts with a churro spin. The churro shake was delicious, and can't go wrong with any of the options. Would highly recommend this place.”
“What is wrong with me, I've haven't talked about Sal's? There are many things wrong with me, and that 4000 page book is for another time. The little pizza places are what I always look for. Sal's is a staple. Don't be fooled by it's location and exterior appearance, this workhorse is around the corner of a 7-eleven building. The appearance is small but internally, thanks to the hard workers doing their thing, they produce some great pizza. Their tavern style is classic, thin (but not cracker thin) crust has generous, tangy sauce, and hearty, fresh toppings. I like that the sausage isn't too salty like other places. Don't sleep on their wings, they are meaty and done right. Sal's is 100% pickup or delivery. They have other options for pizza, appetizers, hot sandwiches, pasta, ribs, salad, etc. Dave Portnoy recently put them on an extended map..beyond word of mouth from locals. I never expected him to show up near my neck of the woods, but if he was in search of a "real deal" or "go-to" tavern-style pizza, he made the right decision. Even without One Bite, Sal's was already award-winning. Be sure to use their coupons as they gladly accept them.”
“A very tiny restaurant, cozy and personal. The sushi chef is excellent, the fish is very fresh. Miso soup that came with sushi was incredible. Service very friendly and pleasant. I'm so glad i found this little gem.”
“AMAZING AMAZING. I ordered the super combo with garlic rice and some extra BBQ sticks. Every bite was delicious, quality is really unmatched. I’m excited to try out their special dishes next time!!Follow them on Facebook to find out where they are cooking for the week. if that doesn’t work you can buy at their central kitchen spot”
“I love coming in for celiac friendly treats. Picked up 11 lemon cookies for a friends bday. It was $40 unfortunately I won’t can’t afford that all the time. Why does gluten free items have to be so expensive? Also could use a bit more lemon for that price. Still 5 ⭐️ but I wanted to share a couple suggestions.”
“Food Again, bigger group. We all ordered from the lunch menu. I had miso soup, spicy tuna roll and a crunch roll. Tuna could have been spicier. I asked for extra wasabi. Service Good service however a little disjointed. I asked for tea and our group had asked for refills and they were slow to fill. We a group of 5 and there was one other table that was seated halfway through our lunch. We did eventually get our tea and refills. Ambiance We all appreciated the video poker machines placed in a different room. Tables were clean. The room was inviting. We were curious as to why there were notes at the tables "please do not take chopsticks". Who steals reusable chopsticks from a restaurant?”
