“Small, but great. Server was having a little bit of an off night but nothing was really bad. Just a little uncomfortable, like not realizing what dressing was on a salad and other minor things. Both steaks were perfectly cooked, unfortunately one was supposed to be medium well, it was beautifully medium.Bar and main dining room in one, but not too noisy with no bar seating. We will be back!”
“If you want to watch the game this is a great place to be. Service is always friendly. Food is pretty good bar food. Wish there were a few more high tables. We often go with a large group and that can be difficult if you're not there early enough for tables. But that says good things as its a busy place.I will say it seems several families think it is an indoor recess setting letting their kids run wild. I've never been to any other restaurant where parents think it's ok to let kids run between tables, up and down stairs, toss food around etc. While the staff has tried to control this (and there is an under 21 curfew) some parents think they can let their kids do whatever they want. It's a shame because this is clearly a sports bar restaurant. I've taken my little one there several times and managed not letting him run around like it's a playground.”
“Chimichanga plate was delish. Guacamole is a bit on the spicy side for my liking, but I don't usually care for spicy food. Reasonable prices and food came out very quickly. Yummy! I will go back. The place was packed on a Tuesday night at 730pm.”
“Lucky Joe’s is like going to your best friends basement to hang out. You get what’s on hand and you can bring your own snacks. Everyone is cool with whatever is going on and it’s cheap. The bar girls are cool af.Sometimes the porch catches on fire, sometimes it smells bad but it’s ok, just drink more Stag and have a good time.”
“I have been going to Gary's since I was in 7th/8th grade (after sockhops). I was addicted to their ice the whole time I was pregnant with my son 20 yrs ago, plus I went into labor there. Gary and his wife are family friends and everyone that works there works their tails off to keep the good home cooked meals. I just wish there was a way I could get my semi truck and trailer in there when I am on a 10 hr. I will always have fond memories of not just hanging with friends after school dances but also you all are great people. With respect and love from a trucker Angel VanHoose otherwise known as Lashbrook to alot of the community since I am class of 95.”
“I have never eaten in the restaurant. I really never have seen anyone eat there. My husband loves their chicken fried rice without onions plus extra chicken so I always get him it from there. Service has always been good except for one time when the woman taking my order said I didn't order it without onions so I thought she was a little rude. There are lots of tables there and I suppose it would be okay to just sit there and eat the food... not cozy or romantic but what Chinese restaurant is romantic. Prices are reasonable and it isn't a long wait for takeout.”
“I've always had great service here. Whether it's inside or the drive thru. When ordering for a family of 4, we expected it to take some time to make our sandwiches. Made it back to the ball park before the 2nd game and kids got to eat before the game.”
“The food was really messy, but tasted terrific! Would have given 5 stars, but they don't serve Marinara sauce (for my cheese curds), and I was really disappointed in that one. Oh well.”
“We enjoy Reifschneider’s when in Freeburg/Columbia. I usually opt for the chicken finger platter-it’s consistently delicious. The chicken fingers have a tasty and crunchy batter that make them perfect. We also ordered loaded nachos. It’s an appetizer but you get enough to make it a meal. My son ordered the potato soup. This was the only item that we didn’t love. It had a smokey flavor that we didn’t care for. The service was fast and friendly. We will be back soon.”
“I usually go there anytime between 5am and 1:30pm. I most usually have great food, and service. There are some times when I don’t have a great smiley face but their turnover is so bad.”
“This was my first time here. The food was amazing! It's only take out. You order at the door. Staff was very friendly. I will tell my friends they need to try this place! I will definitely be back soon. Prices are really affordable.”
“Delicious food, the staff is friendly, Try and adult beverage (classic with a twist of southern charm, that does not disappoint), Order at the Clara B's window separate from the Long Story Coffee Counter. Get there early as the favorites tend to sell out.”
“Long Story is a nice coffee spot outside of the city with decent espresso. They have beans, and canned cold brew ready to take home. Try to visit outside of peak weekend breakfast hours to get the best coffee/service, they have a small crew behind the bar so they get overloaded during that time. I went during peak breakfast time and waited 20 minutes for a cortado, and a latte for takeout. The cortado was over extracted and was a little burnt, but I could attribute that to the breakfast rush.”
“This is my first choice when I go out for lunch. Delicious and fresh food and it always comes out really fast! They recently expanded their drink menu to include several types of beer as well. My family loves eating here.”
“OMG they have the best macaroni and cheese in the world. I don't even like macaroni and cheese! But literally it just melts in your mouth and it's so delicious. I dream about it! The food is truly excellent and the service is amazing. The people that work there are also sweet. It's just fun to go out and hang out.”
“Had an amazing birthday experience... ? ?. Everything about this place is top tier and the vibe is outstanding. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. We will be returning!”
“I went here a while ago, got some ice cream and it was really good! Ive never tried the food, but have heard good things about it. I would 10/10 recommend this place for those who haven't tried this place before. You're missing out on a real gem!”
“Better than most Mexican restaurants. Service is fast. It’s not haute cuisine folks just good food fast and priced reasonably. Good guacamole. Very busy. Folks are nice!”
“I ordered a pork pulled sandwich: it was tender and flavorful. I didn't care for the fried onions, but I was able to slide them off. I added a little BBQ sauce and pickles. Oh, and there wasn't too much bun either: that's a good thing.”
“This is a wonderful place to sit and relax. They have great food and wine (with some beers and cider) that makes for a nice visit. It is really nice for small groups to meet and enjoy each other's company since there is no music blasting. It is kept at a nice level where you can still talk without yelling.”
“I'd be happy to help you make the text more engaging! Check out this revised version:At first, I was bummed when My Bowl and WIT parted ways, but the sadness was short lived when I experienced the new Wit cafe. The staff and Nguyen family are simply delightful and make you feel right at home. But the real stars of the show are the drinks and bowls - they're absolutely amazing! Trust me when I say that they put "smoothie kings" bowls to shame! I wouldn't know about their paninis though, as I have some dietary restrictions.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options”
“Very cozy and homey breakfast spot. The food looked fantastic but the star of the show is their drinks! The honey lavender coffee is absolutely amazing! I cannot wait to go back. The shop itself is small but so adorable with a very relaxing atmosphere. There's extra seating upstairs and you can tell they use the space wisely.”
“Pleasant bar. Clean, good prices, and nice staff. I found it not a little strange that I was at Roger's Place all night and never once saw the guy. It makes me wonder if he is like Bruce Wayne, like maybe there was a crime in progress he had to tend to that night.Either way, Roger has a nice place.”
“Everything about this place is 5 stars! Food is great, employees are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming.Parking: Parking in back entrance and street parking in front.Kid-friendliness: Kids are more than welcome.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp at the front and the back entrance is flat.”
“Just what I was looking for! It was my first time downtown and I was looking for coffee and a cookie for me and my son, they were great with him and let him look at all the different kinds of sugar cookies and played along with his games while I figured out what to order. My iced latte was perfect and everything was reasonably priced. My only complaint was it didn’t give me the option to tip when I used Apple Pay and I didn’t have any cash on me.”
“I have been here a couple times. The owners are very nice and have been quick to make my drinks. My favorite drinks I’ve had here are the Green Tea Matcha and the Banana Milk. This place and Tastea are the best boba teas around!”
“Angie, I have been going to the bullpen for quit of few years. Never once did I have an experience you are describing. We have been there when they have been very busy, never a problem!! I can’t imagine any waitress saying she needs a break and hope you’re not eating. I have never heard any waitress complaining about being busy or tired. They are a bunch of friendly hard working women. Their service is impeccable and so is the food!!”
“This place is amazing! Literally something for every picky eater in my family. When the weather is warm the kids can play while the adults enjoy the outdoor bar. My favorite is the marcos BC pizza with a sweet Nutella crepe for dessert!”
“Quaint little coffee shop that also happens to be part of the Southern IL coffee trail, which is how I found out about it. In checking out their FB page, I saw them mention a gingerbread latte, so I made the drive. When I got there, they didn't have their holiday menu out yet, but the staff was happy to make my GBL anyway, so that was much appreciated. For people like me who prefer to make their coffee more like a dessert, they have lots of different flavored lattes on their menu. I also had a breakfast burrito, which was fine. If you're not familiar with the area, your GPS will probably lie to you about the location. It's right next to the visitors center, with a good sized parking lot. Not a bad coffee option if you happen to be in the area.”
“I have been going to The Coffee Pot for about 8 months now since I first got transferred to Cedar Trails in Freeburg, Illinois. Their coffee is always on point and I love their cute set up they have. If you are looking for an amazing cold brew or even some specialty lattes and sweets and you are in the Freeburg area, The Coffee Pot is CHEF APPROVED!! :)”
