“In summary: Typical bar grill atmosphere with better than normal food and an excellent server.Food I sampled: rueben tacos (5 stars), cajun pork and rice (my meal; 4.5 stars rice was a bit bland but they had soy sauce), fried mushrooms ( 4 stars), provolone cheese logs( 3.5 stars needs better dipping options) and fries (5 stars great large cut with crumble fries)“
“First time ever eating here and I am super impressed with the menu, atmosphere, and staff! Love how you walk in and are automatically transformed into a whole different era and time. Lots of old knick Knacks, comfortable seating, quick service. Lots and lots of history here. I highly recommend the Coney Dog!“
“This is a new favorite lunch spot. I've enjoyed the shrimp poboy and a catfish dinner, and the flavors were really nice and authentic (having moved to Illinois from the south, I applaud their chef). The team is friendly, and the food is always delicious. I especially love the chips!Parking: There is street parking all along Main Street, and it's usually not full. There are also a number of free parking lots throughout the downtown area, within a block of the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: There are two glass doors to enter through, but the ground is level and smooth.“
“Well its CASH and CARRYOUT ONLY. We came in on the motorcycle and there wasn't an area outside to eat. Its ok we sat next to the building in shade. Food was very good. The waitresses were running in and out quickly but suffecntly. Prices aren't to bad. Plus cherry cola was yummy!!!“
“The flavors in their barbecue are amazing. The sauce is killer, the sides are always good, and the meats are usually done right. My only complaint is that, a few too many times, the meat is a mix of hot and cold. Not lukewarm, not room temperature, but actually cold. I'm pretty sure that they refrigerate the meat then microwave it... Which is sad because it's AMAZING when fresh. I've literally watched them set down a sandwich with a pile of steamy pulled pork only for my girlfriend to find the centre of it icy. And my dad is always getting ribs where some are hot, and some are fridge temperature. If not for the cold spots, the place would get 5 stars EASY. Wish I could give 4.5 instead of 4.The service is... okay. You order at a window and they bring your food, which is fine. But, drinks, refills, napkins, condiments, etc, you get yourself. Tho, they do check up on you on occasion. As far as drinks, I don't drink myself, but they seem to have a decent selection according to the people that I frequent this place with.Their soda situation leaves a bit to be desired. You get a very small cup of mostly ice for 2 dollars. And if you want more, it's 50¢ a refill. Oh, and you normally have to go to the bar yourself for all the drinks. Depending on the night. The dining area is nice. It would remind you of an elk's or moose Lodge, or VA hall... because, well, that's what it is. Except it's in really great shape and very new looking. Nothing too fancy, but really cozy. And the place is kept ridiculously clean. Including the facilities. Only con is if you happen to go on a night with live music. It's happened to me a few times, and the "bands" were loud and lacklustre, borderline annoying.Memorial Day weekend, they did have a professional stage and sound system setup in the parking lot with a handful of pretty decent local bands. I wouldn't be surprised to see more of that during the summer. All in all, if you're wanting barbecue and you're in the Burg, this is the place to go.“
“An old firehouse converted into a very cool restaurant and brewery, the Iron Spike delivered perfectly on atmosphere, service, food, and craft brew. We started off with a tasty appetizer of thai shrimp. Extremely flavorful and fabulous way to start off the food adventure. Our entrees were pulled pork sandwich with homemade bbq sauce, Asian crunch burger, Peanut Butter and Bacon burger (added a side of their homemade jalapeno jam), and Jalapeño Popper burger...all with crunchy fries. Sunday they have a happy hour that offers 1/2 priced drinks, which was perfect for a flight of 5 beers to sample their offering. We did add the peanut butter porter with the peanut butter burger for a perfect pairing! If you are in the Galesburg area, I highly recommend you give this place a try!“
“Title: Quick and Tasty Bite Near Amtrak Station!Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)I recently stopped by Jimmy's Pizza while waiting at the Amtrak station across the street, and it was a delightful surprise!Firstly, I have to mention our server, A.M.B. She was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal, making the experience all the more enjoyable.I decided to try something different and went for their burger and fries, and let me tell you, it was worth every penny of the $11.32. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the fries were perfectly crispy. A great choice for a quick and satisfying meal.If you're ever in the area and need a good place to grab a bite, Jimmy's Pizza, with its convenient location across from the Amtrak station, is definitely worth a visit. Fast, friendly service and delicious food – what more could you ask for?“
“Food was good and served Hot? Employees were nice...1 soda on fountain machine needed refilled, plus no lids or napkins that needed refilled..I told a employee but never did till 10 mins later...acted like he didn't wanna work and seemed lazy ..“
“Cherry Street Brewing Company is a wonderful family owned brewery with a great food and adult beverage menu. My favorites on the menu include the Pretzel Bites, traditional Jumbo chicken wings, Bacon & Beer Cheese Burger, Black Bean Burger, Breaded Portabello Fries, Wedge Salad, and Mozzarella Sticks to name a few. The Service (waiters, bartenders, etc) is top notch!Vegetarian options: Black Bean Burger is phenomenal!“
“Good spot for local grub! When you enter, you'll see the bar and lots of bar-height tables. Past the bar to the left is another room with regular tables and booths (better for our family dining). The room is also sparsely filled with game machines for all ages. The atmosphere isn't the bar area was hyped up, as everyone was watching sports on TV. The other dining room was almost eerily quiet and subdued. The service and food were good. We all enjoyed our meals - burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc. - but didn't have anything special to draw us back. We felt like we were a bit forgotten sitting in the "other" room.If I want to watch a game, I'd definitely come back without the kiddos and sit in the bar area.Parking: Street parking is available along Main Street, and there are various free parking lots all around the area within a short walking distance.Kid-friendliness: A kids menu is available. Our 6-year-old liked the food but thought her burger was too big/tall to bite without cutting up.There are a few electronic games for some fun, but the atmosphere is pretty low-key otherwise.Wheelchair accessibility: One main door entrance right off the sidewalk leads to a single-level restaurant with clear aisles between tables. Extra dining room has chair-height seating and plenty of space for maneuvering.“
“The Landmark is a Galesburg institution! They have fantastic breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Some interesting dishes include savory and sweet crepes, quiches, and a variety of other fare. The space is warm and relatively intimate. They also have an awesome outdoor patio.I don’t know if they still have spinach bread, but that was something we had weekly in my house growing up.Would highly recommend.“
