“Came on a Wednesday morning and were seated promptly. Started with a caramel machiatto, which was excellent. Eggs were perfectly cooked. I had them with the bacon , which was thick and crispy. The breakfast potatoes are seasoned perfectly. Pancakes are bomb as well. Fluffy, but not too dry or dense. A little pricey but everything was delicious.“
“Atwater restaurant was superb. The only down side was the aspect of handicap accessible entrance and outside entrance handicap parking. The ramp wasn't very conducive for handicap wheelchairs, scooters or walkers. It is my request that the Herrington really examine accessibility to all would be ideal for future guests.“
“Small restaurant with a dark, moody vibe that offers great drinks, food, and service. Been here twice and both times were enjoyable and the food is definitely memorable.Wings- maple bourbon dry rub with the good ranch and homemade blue cheese dressing these are a mustBrussel sprout salad- fresh and the acv dressing me feel better about myself before we consumed all the delectable food we ordered.Brie burger with seasoned fries- pairs good with the multiple cocktails I am sure you will order here.Grits- I didn't even know I liked them until nowChicken Shawarma Sandwich- I knew there was a reason I kept seeing everyone order this. It's amazing. How do they make better shawarma than most shawarma places around here?!Birria grilled cheese- good but the wings and shawarma have my heart.Seriously you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't try these things at least once if you come here. Personally, I would recommend the wings, brie burger, and chicken shawarma sandwich. Legit I still think about them and it's been a month since we have been there. Oh, and the fries as a side .. just get them your stomach will thank you later“
“Carried out tonight from the Walrus Room. It was our anniversary and we had some beautiful grass fed t-bones but needed a sweet treat and a little app that we just weren't in the mood to prepare (got 2 under 5). And I have to say it was still phenomenal as always. One of our absolute favorite staples. Dont hesitate, just go and try for yourself. It truly is the “supper club” of the tri-cities. Hard one to beat. Keep it up!“
“Small, quaint, family restaurant. Very busy the day we stopped by, but the staff keep customers moving, we had a very short wait. Food was very good, staff was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable & kept customers moving. Highly recommend checking it out. Has that home town atmosphere!“
“I have been coming here since they opened. I've seen this restaurant survive covid and thrive before and presently. Always delicious, but service and food runners could be better trained and more attentive. The manager who also tends bar is quite delightful. He was extremely attentive and gracious with the issue we had.“
“Came here with friends. Ambiance was really lovely and warm set in a gorgeous old building. Good selection of drinks, service was professional and pleasant. The food was on the better side of average. Perhaps i ordered poorly. My Arctic Char was overcooked. Spatzle was drowning in sauce. My husbands slow-cooked ribs were good, the fennel in the lamb was slightly overpowering. The octopus starter was slightly overcooked. The shrimp bao was a winner. Desserts were delicious. The plating for everything was attractive. Would I return? Unlikely, given that we travelled for this.“
“UPDATE: We've been back 3 times since my first review and it keeps getting better. The hostess is cordial, friendly and sweet, what a nice change. Our latest visit we had Kyle as our server, super friendly, knowledgeable and spot on without being overwhelming. There were 6 in our party and he didn't miss a beat. Started out with Joan's Rolls, super soft, warm rolls with a chive butter, so good. 3 of us had the miso salmon, the other 3 had the apple & pear salad with a protein. Everything was delicious and done perfectly! We like how the chef changes the menu a little bit every so often.“
“Went here for brunch with my family on a Sunday afternoon. Upon stepping inside, I knew this would be a nice place to spend the afternoon. The host greeted us promptly and gave us two options for seating; and asked if any of us had food allergies...this was a nice surprise since my kids have a food allergy and nobody ever asks us. The host made it a point that he would notify the waitstaff and kitchen staff. The service was fast and efficient, our food was awesome, and the entire staff was accommodating to our two kids. As my kids finished their meals, our waiter told them to check out the art upstairs...this gesture gave my wife and I a few minutes to finish our coffee and beer. The pricing is as you would expect for this type of exclusive restaurant.Brass tacks: excellent food and high-end atmosphere without the pretense. I'm going back.“
“A busy Sunday afternoon in and we sat at the bar. Had Pot Stickers as an Appetizer. A nice start Had a few of the in-house suds. Very nice. Especially liked Viking Red Ale. Did a Pub burger with Swiss and fries. Tasty. My friend did the French Onion soup as a main plate. He enjoyed it. Menu had many options. Service was amazing. Very attentive and friendly. Brant, out main server, but all the bar staff helped out. Liked all the historical photos. First time, but not the last time! A gem in Gem in Geneva.“
“Smaller than I’d expected. But well organized and comfortable. Had the ale house burger with fries - the fries are the reason for the 4 stars on food and not 5. They tasted fine but were soggy with grease. Perhaps that’s their style- not for me. The burger was great. Good perfectly. Beer selection is amazing. People are super nice. Service was spot on quick and attentive. Highly recommend. Hope they crisp up the fries some day!!! Will be back. Soon.“
“I took my husband here for the first time for brunch and we can't wait to come back and work our way through the menu. My Florentine Benedict egg was perfectly poached and the hollandaise spot on; and my husband's biscuits and gravy, rich and flavored with bacon as well as sausage. My grapefruit/hibiscus mimosa--loved it. And the lingonberry pancakes were a taste of my childhood. The environment was casual and friendly with a little cozy-industrial vibe. Can't wait to go back!“
“We recently celebrated a 50th birthday at this fantastic event venue, and it exceeded all expectations! The 80s rock band took us on a nostalgic journey with their classic hits, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The upstairs area was perfect for our private party, providing an exclusive space for dancing and celebration. The combination of great live music, delicious catered food, friendly service, and a well-stocked bar made it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to host a lively and memorable event!“
“We sat on the patio on a cold day. The heaters helped, but we needed to keep our coats on. It looks like a great space for warmer weather. Excellent Ruben sandwich ranked 8.5/10. Got a cup of delicious French onion soup for $2.50 with the sandwich, ranked 10/10 for that price. Overall, I'd give Preservation an 8/10, which would be higher if it wasn't so chilly on the partially enclosed patio. The cold hastened our departure. I'll definitely be back when it warms up!“
“Some of the best BBQ I have had in Chicagoland. Great drink selection and the portion sizes are ridiculous. Great for a night out or a family dinner.Kid-friendliness: Went with friends and their 3 kids and there was something for everyone. The mac and cheese was super popular with them.Wheelchair accessibility: One level dining.“
“Great food and atmosphere. Every table I've eaten at felt intimate even though it is an open floor plan with plenty of seating. I've never felt like I was crowded or uncomfortable. The food is amazing. I had the filet and it was cooked exactly as requested and seasoned perfectly. The bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese is a must try for everyone!Always a must eat at when I'm in the area!“
“Reasonable to high prices, food was very good, service was OK, not great. I'm just not sure this will be our, "go to" but we did like it.Kid-friendliness: Not really that kind of place, it's already loud, and the menu really isn't kid friendly.“
“Friendly staff and nice large restaurant. Was seated quickly and waiter arrived promptly. Options from salads, burgers, sandwiches and pizzas. Prices are on the higher side but you’re paying for the atmosphere and experience here. No complaints. The BBQ Chicken Pizza was tasty.“
“It was about 5:00pm on a Friday night. We got there after our friends had already got a table. Seating was a little cramped but we were comfortable and wheelchair accommodations were readily available. We were near the kitchen door so it was a high traffic area but still okay. The decor was very on point for Christmas, there was a beautifully decorated tree in the foyer. We got our meals quick and they were all so delicious! Pretty decent prices for the Geneva area. I'm an absolute wimp with spices so my southwest chicken pasta was a little much for me. I know, I know, why did I get southwest and think it wouldn't be spicy....I have no good answer for that! My sister tried it and said it wasn't spicy at all so if you have any spice tolerance you should be fine with it. My food was still great even though I'm a wimp. Our table also ordered the Chicken Sandwich and the Ruben and both said they were delicious! The atmosphere was pretty dark, almost too dark as it did cause me to have a bit of a headache but that could just be a me problem. Our server was very friendly and refilled our water and offered us desserts but our meals were so filling we had to pass this time. So many good choices on their menu that I want to go back again.“
“Cool little spot in the ice arena with plenty of tvs and seating for a lot of people. Can be a little hectic at times just by virtue of all the people coming and going for hockey games and the like, but otherwise a cool atmosphere with a window that allows you to see one of the rinks and whoever happens to be on them at that time. The food is typical bar food, but it's good bar food, in my humble opinion. My wife says the wings are better at the St. Charles location, but I find it hard to believe that they would do anything differently than the other spot. This picture is the Greek wings, which were pretty darn good. Very crispy and good flavor.“
“Stopped in after a wake down the street. Cool old space, beautiful spaces around outside, and is right along the river. Staff was friendly but not super on top of it. It was a weird night for all of us though so chalking that up to just a day. Rueben was good and balanced well, but could have had a bit more on it. Fries were really good. Husband and sister god wraps and said they were decent. Overall, a lovely space with decent food. Would be a good place to have a hang and chill with a cocktail.Kid-friendliness: As long as not seated at the bar, kids are allowed.“
“The cheddar biscuits are always a hit with Dad & I. Had lobster bisque which we found out they're discontinuing. But will still have their clam chowder. Also had fried, breaded, calamari - tender but nothing special. Clean place, friendly waitress.“
“We were a party of 7, had a 5:00 reservation. As usual the service was fine and the food was great. From lasagna to the special (ravioli with beef filling and a meatball) everyone's food was served hot and delicious. Desserts were great too! I had a marvelous tiramisu and others had their great lemonchello cake. My only concern was for 7 people they should have brought us 2 loaves of bread instead of 1. Plus no EVOO and parmesan were not offered for the bread.“
