“My Fraternity Brother Anthony Williams and partner Byron Diggs when not bringing great joy as a part of the Our Lady of Our Lady of Africa Parish, Chicago Eucharistic Ensemble have a great Cafe in Maywood right off of I 290. It is called Meal of the Day and has some great southern cuisine in an establishment on the 4th floor of a business complex overlooking I 290. It is appointed with some great art from notable black artists . There is also a banner from Hales Franciscan Class of 1979 , not sure what that’ s all about .. lol! They also do on site catering and have fed the masses after masses at their home church . Check them out ! My fraternity brother has been telling me for years to make the drive and wifey and I finally did and it was so worth it ! .”
“Regular price and size tacos al pastor are really good. On Monday and Tuesday tacos are supposed to be 1 dollar but if you don't ask they won't tell. Why would you advertise that in social media if you don't offer it to your customers and instead just give them regular tacos and when customer ask, you say that you need to ask for those ? ? If you opt for the special taco be aware that you would get 80% tortilla and 10% grease scraps.”
“I stopped for lunch while I was in the area. I had the two hot dog special. The hot dogs were very good. The toppings were all right, could have used a little more. The dog only had one small piece of tomato. The fries could have been cooked a bit longer, but they were plentiful. There are about 5 tables and one that runs along the window. The people were friendly and helpful.I will return the next time I'm in the area.Bicycling: The streets are very busy and don't seem bicycle friendly. I did not see any outdoor seating.”
“The combo sandwich with sweet peppers was huge and delicious. Fries were good ? I asked for ice for my water bottle, and they did'nt have any. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the mild sauce.”
“I regularly go to Slice Factory in Maywood on Roosevelt Road. The pepperoni ? slice a dilla is a very creative idea. They take a giant slice of their pizza and fold into multiple pieces then grill it. They offer multiple dipping sauces (my favorite is the ranch). ?. They also have freshly blended passion ? fruit drinks. The service is excellent and the manager and his crew there takes a lot of pride in their franchise. They are always there providing great customer service!!!???”

“Pumpkin's Place is in the heart of Maywood. The atmosphere is what is expected of a carry-out neighborhood "joint". However, the food is great! The Turkey Tips, Rib Tips and chicken wings are so quite delicious. The meat is seasoned well, then the amazing BBQ sauce makes this one of the best places for BBQ. I've never tried the sides because they don't look appetizing, but I did have the cobbler once. Surprisingly it was good. I say that because restaurant cobbler is usually unremarkable. The only downside is that it closes at 5 p.m. and the tips are usually sold out early. The great thing is it's open on Sundays so I can get my meats right after church.”
“This is the kind of place with regulars that all know each other. The food is good and the prices are great. Maybe not the nicest interior or the most expensive menu, but the value is outstanding.”
“One of the best carnitas I've had. Highly recommended!Order carnita meal for two with meat only but received a mix. Still enjoyed it. Hand made tortillas were also very good.”
“The food good and they have alot of options to pick from. They are very nice, they made a mistake on my order and they remade it and gave me the mistake order as well. The gyro meat tasted delicious. I like going to this place when I can't figure what I want and it's near me.”
“I was in the area and had been craving a Cemita for a while and we found El Carmen Puebla snacks, we ordered a Cemita and two Arabic tacos to share, which was an excellent decision because the Cemita is Gigantic and the Arabic tacos quite generous ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️. This is of course my honest opinion, I think that the Cemita is good but it can be improved if instead of the meat being so spread out it is thicker so that it stays juicier inside but in general it tastes good, regarding to the Arabic taco “OMG ???”, I felt like I was in Puebla for a few minutes, the flavor is unbeatable, exquisite and the sauce is perfect. I will definitely return as soon as possible because I live in the city. Highly recommended.”
“Ordered online for delivery. Will be one of my goto's from now on!!!Fried Zucchini, Mozzarella Sticks & Fried Ravioli were crispy & the breading was seasoned very very well. Thank you for having Garlic Salad Dressing. Game changer & soo much better than Ranch.Deep Dish was also fantastic.Gonna have to try a thin crust cause it also looks good.”
“Parking: It difficult to find parks cause you have people sitting up there doing nothing taking up parking space.....I recommend you order your food first so it want be a problem with you looking for a park....”
“I celebrated my birthday yesterday in this great restaurant. I am glad to say that we had a pleasant evening and the restaurant was evidently one of the reasons for this strong event. The waiters contributed in a sweet manner, the cooking was appetizing and my buddies were very overjoyed. We shall surely visit again for more events. Thank you very much.”
“Very pleasant person on the phone even on a busy Saturday. They gave me an accurate ETA for my food. Very warm atmosphere when you walk in, and it seems to be a favorite weekend lunch for the locals who know where it's at. Reminds me of a drive in from my small hometown in Utah. They nail the fries and fry sauce. I got the Western Burger. Reasonable prices and good portions.”
