“WOW! The main meals at this Mexican restaurant were out of this world good! We stopped by this location on Sunday during Black Friday weekend on our way back home. Even though the location is small and the salsa for the chips had very little flavor.....the service and main meal we ordered were some of the best tasting Mexican dishes we have ever had!”
“This was first time eating at this little diner. The food was delicious, fresh, and that's including the coffee. The waitress was very nice and attentive. On top of that I was waiting for food news for 3 weeks and I just received it as soon as I walked in there. My new spot ☺️ must be lucky.”
“This café is very well decorated with the tin theme throughout. It’s cozy and adorable. The barista taking our order was friendly. The one making our drinks seemed put out by us asking for extra espresso shots. We both ordered Horchata lattes with extra espresso shots. The strength of the coffee was good, but the lattes were way too sweet for us. I’m not dinging them for this, as some people may like it that sweet, but we ended up pitching them and hitting a coffee stand down the road. The flavor of both the chocolate chunk and apple cinnamon scones were great, but the texture was more like a soft cookie or a muffin than the crumbly scones we’re used to.”
“The best caldo de Pollo. Burritos were tasty. We didn't realize they came with cheese on top. It was too rich. Steak taco, the meat was seasoned well. However, the meat was rather dry. The tamale was delicious. We will be back, I would say it is worth trying other foods.”
“I love Hay's foodVegetarian options: Has different soup dailyHawaiian salad, fried chicken salad,Broccoli Soup, Bean Soup, SamwisParking: There is a lot of disposable spaceKid-friendliness: Suitable for childrenWheelchair accessibility: Has enough space and accessibility”
“The restaurant's name is El Navegante now and been there a few times since the new owners took over. Never been disappointed by the food or their service! Honestly, Aurora was serving the last time I went in for some steak fajitas, which were delicious and seasoned perfectly, and she did a really good job making sure I was taken care of!”
“My husband and I drive over from Galesburg(15-20 mins) for the best Mexican you can get. We love this place. Aurora and family always stop to say hi and have a chat with us. The queso I thunk is house made and AMAZING. Tried places in Galesburg and they just don't compete. If you want Mexican, come here. I always get the supremo fajita nachos that come with steak, chicken, and shrimp and almost always need 2 boxes to bring my food home.”
“Nondescript building. Looks more like a dive bar, but it's really more of a barbecue restaurant. I was very surprised about how fabulous the food was! I ordered a smoked Turkey sandwich, and it came with thick, hot slices of freshly smoked Turkey. I tossed the sandwich bread out, and slathered some of the bbq sauce that was on the table on it. Soooo good! (The bbq sauce is sweet and sour, vinegar based, and was fabulous.) The service was quick and the server friendly. We made a pit stop here just off the highway to stop for lunch on a long road trip. Totally worth the detour!”
“THE BEST TACO’S AROUND!! Many things to choose from and staff is awesome! Today was freezing outside the lady was coming to cars taking orders so we didn’t have to get out of car!! Just phenomenal!”
“Had supper there on this past Friday night. Superb service and great pizza. Highly recommend. Had the stuffed taco pizza and there was no way it could have been better and the service was prompt, polite and the best I could have asked for. I wish I could give them more than five stars honestly”
“Food was great, cash only, but wasn't notified ahead of time and couldn't get the ATM machine onsite to work. Ended up driving to the Casey's down the street to get money to pay the bill. Come with cash on hand and it's worth the cost for sure.”
“We’ve been twice and have had great experiences both times. Classic take-out comfort food. All the regular standards of American Chinese fare, really freshly prepared. Maybe the only place in town to do really yummy things with tofu. Crab Rangoon and vegetable spring rolls are great. Portion sizes are very large. Minimal seating inside, but super clean, polished and organized. Staff are friendly, professional, and helpful. Definitely will be regulars if they maintain their current quality and level of service.Vegetarian options: One of the few places that offers vegetarian protein (tofu) in addition to many vegetable entrees. They seem to be able to accommodate many of their sauce options with their crispy tofu (general tso, sesame, Mongolian are all good).Kid-friendliness: Chicken teriyaki on a stick is a kid pleaser and staples like sweet and sour chicken are accessible for picky eaters.”
“Super yummy food! ❤️ We came as part of a child's birthday party and had a blast! The taco bar at the party was great! Everything tasted good!Bathrooms were clean. ❤️I'm looking forward to coming back and trying out other menu options!”
“Enjoying a little weekend away - decided to order from here our first night in. Absolutely INCREDIBLE pizza! The Garlic bites are also amazing! Wonderful, quick, and kind service! Highly, highly recommend for your next pizza night!”
“Nice, cozy atmosphere that highlights the historic downtown. Great place for families or gatherings of any sort! We made a pit stop traveling and were glad we did. Service was quick and Shirley provided top notch service.”
