“Small local bar that serves a good burger and has typical selection of beers. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The Tap has adequate seating during colder days, and in the summer there is outdoor seating. The decor is your average bar scene. Good place for car enthusiasts, bikers, and families who like to venture out.“
“I've been to this location several times and to Five Guys at several other locations. The food is always consistent location to location. In my recent visit, they were slow but completely slammed. There was not a single table open, and several people were standing and waiting. I'm NOT complaining about the speed at all. I know they cook everything to order. What was life changing, though, were the fries. I don't know what the difference was, but the fries were super crispy and phenomenal. I have always had floppy, soggy fries from other locations. Even if I got fries like these once out of every 10 visits, I wouldn't be sad.“
“This was my first time. I was greeted promptly at the door and seated in the bar in a booth. The bartender asked if I had any questions about the menu. I made my selection. The food came in prompt fashion. At the burger was cooked the way I asked. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger. Thank you to Red Robin for an excellent first-time experience.“
“The food here is usually really good. It's a nice burger joint on campus located in the Student Bone Center. One thing I noticed is that some of the staff is usually unfriendly, but not all of the time. The food does take a really long time to come out though.“
“The Burger Den is Dennys and, well... it's Dennys. Good food, but not spectacular. I had a bacon chicken ranch sandwich that was supposed to be on "artisan bread", but tasted like it was on Texas Toast. Not bad, just not what I was expecting.“
“Worst experience. -20 if possible. Took my order at 2:12 for coffee. They had me go to space 1 to wait for brew. At 2:21 still nothing. No one behind me so I backed up to the window. They looked surprised I was asking for my coffee. I asked if I could just have a refund. I could if I AGAIN pulled to space 1 to wait for that.I donated the money you could say, thanked them and left. Never will I go there again.“
“I've been eating here late night when there's limited places to choose from and this review has been deserved long ago. Everytime I've ordered here the food has been fresh and delicious. I believe there was a time or two my order was missing something when I got home but this happens everywhere so it's no worse then anywhere else. “Did you like Steak 'n Shake in the past before the pandemic? Did you witness a decline in service and food? That is still true in many locations in Bloomington, Normal. I recently tried them at the location on 325 S Veteran's Parkway in Normal, right across from O'Brien Honda. OMG!! I ordered a traditional meal of double cheese burger and fries Combo with a Coke Zero. I noticed a very diligent manager giving every patron his full focus, and happily bringing everyone their meals as they came out of the kitchen. I soon realized he is what made this location stand out. Steak 'n Shake almost always is a reflection of the leadership qualities of their store manager. This is the case in point at this location. They no longer have waiters or waitresses, but you can easily custom order your meal from the four kiosks in the store. It is not long before your inviting meal comes to you piping hot and ready to enjoy. The second I bit into my double cheese burger, I felt like I went back in time to the day I used to get one of the best burgers out there. Even though there was no waitress, I experienced a burger, the quality ever bit as good, as they used to be. The fries, were also always a favorite of mine, and they were also just as awesome. I felt the need to compliment the manager, who seemed to show pride in his team of cooks and kitchen staff. This is one well-oiled machine, he lovingly call his "Dream Team." I would have to agree. Over the next 24 hours I went back two more times and had chili-mac which was pretty good, and then brought my brother with me for another double cheese and fries. He was just as happy with his order. We both finished the meals off with a smile of satisfaction. Now as I mentioned, not all Steak 'n Shakes are the same. Some, right in Bloomington - Normal are terrible, and I cannot recommend them. So be sure you find this one location, if you wish to experience the same burger you may remember from the past. It is ever bit as good. The prices are better than most other places and even cheaper than McDonalds, and far better. Try this Steak 'n Shake for a great experience, and a wonderful trip down memory lane for your taste buds!! I think you won't be sorry.“
“My husband had a double bacon cheeseburger with onions rings. I had a Maxwell sausage dog and a chocolate malt. Everything was delicious. Staff was very friendly. I recommend. I had the salad on a different visit and it was amazing. I love the house dressings.“
