“Excellent atmosphere, from the moment I opened the door and entered the place I could see that it is a very special place because it fuses the concept of an American Bar, with touches of a Mexican Cantina, then when I saw the menu, I could realize that it really has a lot of influence of a typical Mexican Cantina, that makes it a beautiful and excellent place. Good variety of Mezcales, the sale of Cantaritos is a pleasant surprise.”

“Best homemade pizza. We stopped by after hiking at Starved rock state park and reading all the positive reviews we decided to try this place. The joint takes you back to time, Sam is an amazing person to interact with and funny. He is really hardworking and super fast as well, we got our pizza within 20 mins. For $10 I was expecting the pizza to be average, but I was so wrong. I ended up eating more slices than I usually do. I would go back again. This is a must visit when you are in Oglesby.”

“Carlos was amazing! An excellent Mexican restaurant. Jolie the hostess was so welcoming. There was a large party in front of us when we arrived. Jolie knowledged us and then when she sat us right away she said sorry for the wait. Haha it was a 30 second wait, that's already a good sign of great service. We started with the fresh guacamole which was served in the cutest molcajete bowl, a little bull! It was my belated birthday celebration so I tried some margaritas of course. The 18oz Top Shelf Margarita and the blue margarita (I only ordered this caus of the name of the restaurant haha). I preferred the top shelf one although both were overly sweet for my palate. Brother and I shared the Camaron A La Diabla (hoooo weee that's spicy!). The shrimp were enormous and so good. Lots of spicy sauce. We also shared the Arroz Con Marisco. The marisco meal was my favorite. Big juicy scallops and shrimp mmm. The cheesy sauce was very good. Mom had some tacos a La carte and she enjoyed them. The only thing I didn't like about this place was the lighting was overly bright. The facility is very clean and the service is top notch. The food this visit was delicious.”

“Stopped here while driving through Oglesby on I-39. Only a couple min drive off the main highway. It was an excellent find. I had the taco combo with beef tacos and a cheese enchilada. My daughter had the soft shell chicken tacos. Plates came loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, rice, and beans. Quick service (only three tables were used at the time), very clean tables, floors, etc. I was very impressed. Food was excellent and priced well. Would recommend.”

“Cozy neighborhood style bar, with good decor and sports on TV. Empty when we were there less one other couple, but I suppose it's fun when there is a crowd. Prices are good for beer and liquor, bathrooms were spotless, as was the rest of the bar.”

“This has been a family establishment for us over several generations. Many family members have worked there.We have always enjoyed eating there. The food is delicious and holiday meals are excellent. Thanksgiving day buffet was as good as I can cook at home! Everything was just perfect. They did not overcrowd the seating, which made a very enjoyable evening.The staff has all been very nice and of course, the atmosphere is so cozy.We will continue to eat here for many years to come. Don’t change a thing!”

“The lounge is super cute and drinks are good. I had the pot roast which was outstanding. One of the best I've had. Stacy was my server and she was super sweet and attentive. Took my spiked cider into the lounge and sat in front of the fire. What more do you need on a January day after hiking?? $27 for spiked cider and large serving of pot roast and green beans, reasonable. 10/10 recommend.Vegetarian options: Noticed at least two vegetarians options on the menu. Wasn't looking for them but the portobello sandwich and veggie burger both looked great!”

“Adorable bakery with awesome coffee! This place had a nice steady flow of customers at 1 o'clock, most were buying the loaves of fresh bread. We just stopped for a coffee but I was truly tempted by the pastries as well. We had just eaten otherwise I would have grabbed one. Our cold brew coffee was really delicious and we are slightly picky about coffee. The caramel cold foam was a delight, glad we added it. Stop in and check this place out - it's really great!”

“First time here, we had a delicious lunch! The chicken taco soup was really good. Also tried the grilled ham and Nick which was good, although I love me a good old fashioned hot ham and cheese, the addition of grilled onions and flavored mayo wasn't my favorite. “Loved this cute shop from the adorable puppy dog logo to the architecture and, of course, the yummy coffee and sweet treats! Knowledgeable and helpful staff helped me order my tiramisu latte to my liking, and the mint chocolate chip ice cream was the best I'd ever tasted. Plus a nice selection of pure cane sugar sodas. Will definitely come back if we visit Starved Rock again!”

“What a pleasant surprise! From the outside it has the look of a dive bar. Inside it is recently decorated and extremely clean! Owners are super friendly and attentive. The food is standard bar fare but really good. I opted for the tenderloin sandwich and my better half opted for the build-your-own burger. We will definitely come back!”
