I ordered the special for Thursday the Torta Dinner. First off the menu said 8.99 and it rang up 9.49. The Pastor meat was extremely salty for some reason. But it was a fairly good size torta with fresh ingredients besides the salty meat. The pico was very good we got with the but the chips weren’t homemade and absolutely sucked! The waiter kid never came back and filled our drinks or even asked. The food looked delicious but wasn’t let me tell you that.
For sure it wouldn't be a surprise if this were the best Mexican restaurant in Peotone, because it may be the only one in town of course. It has a lack of competition, and sometimes there's also a lack of flavor or spiciness. Del Carmen is a small place with a family owned atmosphere. Prices are pretty good for the big portions. Love their food. We live 2 hours away, and whenever we come through town to visit family, we stop to get tacos. So flavorful, and they are VERY generous with the amount of meat they put on the tacos. The cilantro and onions are always fresh, and the cilantro is never black or wilted. The flavor of the salsa is consistent even after months of not eating there (since living out of town).
