It's a little inconsistent. Like I said my friends and I come here a decent amount. The food is usually solid, sometimes though, it can be a little less than great. Not bad. Just kind of, fine if you will. Overall still not bad, I mean we do keep on showing up for happy hours, but I wouldn't say the food is anything too different from your run of the mill bar food. Service has always been decent and the spot is nice and spacious though. Ideally I'd give it a 3.5/5 if I could but I can't

I really want to give this place 4 stars, as I've had really good meals here, but they're inconsistent. The chicken Parmesan was perfect on one visit; on another, the chicken breast had been overcooked and was tough and chewy. I got the fish and chips, which was excellent, but my husband ordered the fries on another visit and was served French fries that had been sitting too long, and were cold and...well, you know how French fries that have been hanging around too long taste, right? Save your calories. So, there's definitely an A crew and a B crew in the kitchen. It's unfortunate, because when it's good, it's yummy elevated bar food/comfort food/ Supper Club fare. It's a spacious place, with a generous bar and slot machines for you gamblers, and the front house staff is excellent; attentive and friendly. I had a virgin Bloody Mary during one visit, and it was so obviously house made that I commented on it. The bartender assured me that, yes, she'd mixed up the Bloody Mary mix that morning. Nice touch. Now all they have to do is make sure the kitchen is executing the menu well.

Forgot to write this a couple weeks ago. So disappointed when we went (2/9/2024). When we walked in we saw 2 individuals taking a shot just outside the entrance. First I thought it was just some guests at the hotel. Later found out one of them was the bartender! She also closed out the bar early! 11:30 pm was last call. I would understand if we were the only customers. That wasn't the case. She literally told a group of people she was closing out early. A group of at least 6 people who were in no rush to leave. She told them they had to leave. Can't imagine how much money Hoffman house lost in just that group. So this bartender's name is Skylar. The bar at the time was no where to be closed. She just wanted everyone out so she could party somewhere else. I don't know how she was even standing that night. Like I said before she was already taking a shot when we walked in. She was clearly drunk while working. Hopefully the owners are keeping a close eye on her and watch the cameras, because you will find that I am not lying. I really like the place and I would not go back of she is working there.

Hoffman House was great years ago. The salad bar, soups, excellent chicken, fish and over the top prime rib. It was a restaurant with a Wisconsin supper club feel. Then it transitioned to a run of the mill eatery serving common not so good food and the prime rib changed to a USDA choice standing rib roast. Chew on that tougher, less flavorful and much less expensive cut of meat being offered on their menu as Prime Rib Roast without a price reduction. And now it is a sports bar serving bar food.

Very disappointed when I went to Hoffman House on Friday evening and was told they serve prime rib on Saturday only.The total atmosphere has changed…not welcoming at all. New Eating area next to bar/tv room looks like a storage room. Chairs all wood very uncomfortable. Absolutely no ambiance…nothing special about this place anymore. Very sad!!I realize things need to change to be competitive but these changes turned a good restaurant to a bar extension.

It's not Hoffman House anymore. You enter/eat in a bar setting (Scoreboard), not a restaurant. There are two menus, HH menu is much smaller. You seat yourself and then we sat there because no one was coming. I eventually went up and asked for menus. We ordered and our food came, except I was supposed to get rolls w/butter and a salad. The fish fry was serviceable. I wouldn't eat it again. The fries were awful. Pale, undercooked, and no flavor. My friend's burger was so greasy she couldn't pick it up. Server never came back to check on drinks, food, if I wanted more fish. She only stopped by after she saw someone else was helping us. We told them about our experience and while it made it right for us this evening, we'll never be back. You've done a disservice to what was a great restaurant.

Used to be one of our favorites. We had a party of 8 hostess said we could move our own tables.! What?? Was not very happy with dinner choices. Waitress did not clear our dirty dishes when we were finished so we could visit. Dont think we will be back. Really miss the salad bar.

Stopped by after checking in and grabbed a bite! Good sports viewing with a couple giant screens in addition to the normal tvs around the room. The two old fashions that I had were on the sweeter side but great with the fried food. Gotta try cheese curds when you're this close to Wisconsin!

Sorry, did not eat here recently. This has always been a place my family picked for special occasions and celebrations. Everyone of us loved the salad bar. Food has always been good too, but no other place stood out for their salad bar. We are from Wisconsin, there are several dinner clubs closer to us that we also enjoy. Without your exceptional salad bar, we will probably pick other dinner clubs. Wish you the best. Found out when I called for reservations for a birthday celebration next Friday about this change. My friend specifically asked about your salad bar. My family and friends will find another place to celebrate. Weird, but this made me sad. I guess, just thinking about how many celebrations we have had at Hoffman House. Nostalgic moments, knowing that we will probably not be coming in the future. I have ordered food from you for holidays so will probably still do that, salad bar doesn't count for catered food.

What a disappointment. Loved the old dining room with the fireplace and the salad bar. They are going to lose a lot of customers. It's just another sports bar now and if you want a Burger, that's fine but quite honestly, I ordered a Caesar salad and it wasn't good. my granddaughter couldn't even eat her grilled cheese. And it wasn't good. My cocktail didn't even taste good . It's sad...the owner will be sorry.

I was there this past week and I decided to try a new item off the menu, a prime rib sandwich. The sandwich was ridiculous, it was bland and soggy and smelt of feet. I flagged down my waitress to ask her if I could send this sandwich back to the kitchen and get something else because it was inedible. She then asked my why I wanted to send it back to the kitchen, and I told her it’s because I do not like the sandwich and I cannot eat it as it smells like feet and tastes even worse. She gives me a dirty look and tells me that I cannot send it back simply because I don’t like it, only if there is something wrong with it ( and may I note that during this conversation she had a rude tone and demeanor) she went to the manager and the manager said that if I want something else I can order it, she is not taking the prime rib sandwich off my check… during these two conversations multiple waiters and waitress’s walked by my table and gave me weird look, which makes me believe that the staff was judging me. I told her to throw the sandwich away afterward, left $0.00 as a tip (which I never do, I always tip above 20% if service is good) and went to Chick-fil-A across the street afterward and had a much better experience there than the Hoffman house could offer. I’m sad to see such a wonderful establishment go downhill so quickly, it’s safe to say I’m not going to be returning any time soon.

Hoffman House catered my wedding at Oak Hill Farm. The staff was incredibly professional. They personally greeted my husband and I to give us appetizers we missed during cocktail hour and to ensure we had everything we needed. Hoffman House was very accommodating to special requests. The staff was very responsive via email prior to the wedding for inquiries, the tasting, and details. Our guests loved the food and presentation. Thank you for making our day!

Stopped into the Hoffman House Supper Club while in Rockford on vacation. Started out with escargot and then had a beautiful Prime Rib dinner. We sat in the bar and had fabulous service. The food was excellent. Give them a try.

Stopped by last Sunday evening and some major changes have occurred. First, the Hoffman House as it once was seems to be gone; consolidated into the adjacent sports bar that did not seem overly inviting. Hard to ignore the stale "old motel" smell in the air. Definitely no longer a supper club vibe. Decided to take a pass and went elsewhere for dinner. Too bad.
