Ordered Italian Beef catered for around 20 people. The cost was unbelievably reasonable and it was delicious. Everyone in attendance, all but one of who have never visited Chicago, raved about the food.
I am an Italian beef enthusiast. Possibly even an aficionado. This was perfection. Perfect beef - awesome giardiniera. Maybe the best I've ever had on both counts. Lean, tasty, and juicy and the hots were fresh tasting and vibrant. Supreme tamales - as good as Tom Toms, old brand. Necessity for an old school beef place. Actual cut potatoes for fries! Flew from Reno to Chicago to see my son play lacrosse in the Milwaukee area. Had to stay in Chicago over night due to problems with our rental car. Happen to stay right next to Frannie"s Beef. So glad we stopped for a Italian beef and sausage combo sandwich. I have been craving a good italian beef sandwich since my last trip to Chicago. This place is an icon. Definitely will be stopping here again.
