My wife had the fried green tomatoes, and I had corned beef and cabbage with a side salad. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The soup was especially good on a cold and wet afternoon. We had an excellent server; he was really attentive and efficient. Next time I'll try the shepherd's pie.“

“We had not been here before but made reservations for tonight. I had the pear salad which was simply delicious. Then I had gnocchi carbonara which was also excellent. My wife had a salad with spiced cauliflower and figs which she thought was wonderful, followed by heated brie with cherries and crostini. It was amazing. Amy, our server, was helpful with my wife's choices (Laura is vegetarian). The only downside was a large table behind us was very loud, possibly from too much alcohol, and the piped-in music wasn't what we consider appropriate for dinner and a quiet conversation. I had the sausage omelet with home fries and the jalapeno toast, while the jalapeno toast was good it wasn't worth the extra dollar as I didn't taste any spiciness from the jalapeno.My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, french fries with coleslaw, she said the pork was just a bit dry but still good.We certainly will be going back as you know you will get a great meal for a good price.“

“I love going here, very personable, poliet, food and service is excellent. This is my highlight for travelling to Springfield. It is a soulfood place and the walley fish, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese and greens and sweet tea my favorite. All of their food is excellent and and their sweet potatoe pie that the Mom make, i ate my piece and hers. I tried not to do it. Try them when in springfield, they close at 3pm and uaually not open on the weekends but if you get a group they will open for you. Give them a try.“

We were nice about it, but the cook came out to argue that the order was correct. (Which I thought was weird since we didn't even ask for a replacement and the waitress admitted to writing it down wrong.)We would definitely come back. There is just so much to take in there. They have special events with live music, movies on a big screen, car events.There is a museum on the side of the restaurant and a giant building in the back with a courtyard for games like bags and large jenga.The parking lot is huge. “This was our first time visiting home plate today. We were a party of two adults and 2 toddlers. The food was very good. The service was outstanding from our server, Jaylen, who was very busy but still made time to chat with us and give recommendations to the manager Daniella, who gave us great beer recommendations and even gave us a free beer when we mentioned we had wanted to sample something but it was in a can. And we were surprised when they offered our little ones free popsicles after their meals. So sweet to see such a kid friendly establishment! We will definitely be back.“

“A friend and I went in to have doughnuts and something to drink. The lady behind the counter was very kind and helpful in explaining what each of the doughnuts was. There was a wide variety of doughnuts and drinks as well. The prices were very reasonable. The doughnuts were great. The atmosphere was very casual and laid back. Unfortunately, they suffer from the same thing that every bar suffers from and that is a high turnover of their cooks. The one thing that doesn't appear to change is the quality of the food that they at least start cooking. They probably have one of the best hamburgers in Springfield. I would much rather go here than any fast food restaurant and pay almost the exact same amount. The bartenders have always been friendly and it's always clean.
