Restaurantji unveils Springfield's must-visit Mexican dining spots.
“Best veggie tacos in this whole state! I'm from Arizona, and I'd even put their veggie tacos up against restaurants there! I can't vouch for anything else, but I'll be going back as much as I can for those amazing veggie tacos! Oh and the spicy salsa, YUM!Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian section of the menu with like 6 or 7 options. I was very pleased with that, I actually had to pick what I wanted rather than be stuck with the 1 veg option, so that was nice!“
“Love this place!!! Their Mexican pizza was delicious and there is this shrimp dish , the garlic shrimp, that my son and I absolutely love! I highly recommend this restaurant. Their staff is awesome too and have been the most helpful, and very friendly.“
“This place is awesome, totally authentic cuisine, great atmosphere and the margaritas are on point. There are so many mexican restaurants in Springfield but this is by far the best. Migues goes above and beyond to make sure everything from the food to the service is exceptional. Live music on thursdays and fridays, reasonable prices and fast service make El Arriero the best. If you have not been there yet you really must make it a point to go! When you get there tell Miguel Joe sent you!“
“They are friendly and extremely talented at making Authentic Mexican food! It is made fresh for you. So a 2-3 min wait with no line. I'm absolutely OK with this. So with full line keep in mind will be a bit longer. But AGAIN I can live with this because the food is outstanding ? the breakfast burrito is bigger then a grown man's hand ✋️Time to eat!“
“This is the best Mexican Food in the area. Up until recently the best place we had found so far was in Texas. When you can hear the sound of metal striking the flat grill you know the food is going to be the best you’ve had in a very long time. I had chicken fajitas and everything was fresh, veggies were crisp. We also had the Carnitas Gomez from their signature menu. I can hardly describe the melt in your mouth flavor they capture in this dish, but you can tell it has not been sitting in a warmer until we arrived. Fresh, hot, and fantastic. The dishes might arrive at different times but this allows each one to arrive without sitting in a warmer losing its freshness. If you’re looking for something different and you enjoy “flavor” then you have to come here! I cannot say enough great things about this place, so just try it yourself.“
“It's usually very good. Today, I called in for a taco salad to-go. They said 15 minutes. Waited for 5 minutes at the front desk waiting for someone to see me. Then I flagged one of the servers down and she got someone. Then it was clear that they had done nothing for my order yet. When I finally took it back to the office.....no cheese, no refried beans, and almost no guac. I knew that the side order of fresh jalapenos wouldn't be there either, and I was right. They really seemed understaffed today, and it showed. They had maybe 10 customers, so it wasn't like they were overwhelmed.“
“Really, really solid Mexican food spot! My family ate in and had an excellent experience. The free chips and salsa were really good and it was a big portion of salsa which I appreciate rather than having to ask for more over and over again. Everyone liked their meals - I got the veggie fajitas and I really loved the vast amount of different veggies they included! Most places just use peppers and onions for their veggie fajita option. We had to wait a bit from when we were finished to get our bill and pay but they were really busy. I will definitely be back when I'm in town!“
“This is my absolute favorite lunchtime restaurant. Amazing and fast service. the food is an authentic Mexican menu that has wonderful selections. I've eaten there long enough to say the consistency is A+. I like taking people there that have never been and they agree its awsome.“
“The food was hot and delicious ?. The service was fast and friendly. I had the tricolor burrito. The red sauce might be too spicy for some people. I was fine with it, but I love spicy food. I do want to try it next time with all white queso cheese. Great place to eat if you love Mexican. ❤️“
“The Fiesta Fajitas pictured were very well prepared. Most places do not cook the vegetables enough, but this place did a great job. The flavors of the various meats all blended well together, and the chorizo was not overpowering, as it sometimes can be. The tamale had too much masa, and not enough pork, but most restaurants do this. The queso was pretty average, and the salsa was above average. Our server was good and kept our drinks filled. I would definitely return to this restaurant if I'm ever in the area again.“
“Their food is always good and they have a vegan and vegetarian (and other dietary preferences) menu, which is AMAZING. They have wonderful, diverse alternative options so you can go to a mexican restaurant and get the full experience you want without sacrificing chips, queso, and delicious meals like tacos, fajita, molcajete, etc. My favorite is their butternut squash enchiladas. My favorite place to eat and the owners are the best!“
“Laying over in Springfield on our trip home and had Chadito's pop up near our motel so we decided to give it a try so we could sit and relax after getting off the road. Food was excellent (Sancho, taco salad, apple churro chips)! Prices were very good, as well. Nice menu variety and nice menu for toddlers (quesadilla.)Service was fine. Glad we checked our order before leaving because the chips and salsa we ordered didn't make the bag.Biggest frustration was that their dining room wasn't open. Wouldn't have had to worry as much about checking bags if we didn't have to get it "to go." Glad we did the "walk-up" instead of "drive-thru."We would eat there again. As mentioned, the food was great! Just hope that we don't have to take it back to a tiny motel room to enjoy next time.“
“Wow, the taco with the corn tortilla and sauce was excellent. The tamale I ordered was also really flavorful and my wife's fajitas tuned out very well. It's right across from the old state capitol in Springfield so we got a drink at "The Wakery" (non-alcoholic bar) down the street and enjoyed a fabulous dinner here, so see give it a try!“
