“The food here is awesome, the service here is usually great. Tonight though, our server carleigh was exceptionally horrible. It started out fine even though I could easily tell she had been drinking for what seemed like the entire night based on the fact that when she was looking at you, she was moreso looking through you. That, and the fact that she had to pause every few seconds to remember what she was just saying. All of that taken into account, my partner and I laughed it off. When I noticed both serving plates on the table were dirty, I politely let her know “hey, I understand this happens, but these plates are dirty. Do you mind if we replace them?” ……she then proceeded to pick up the plates and say “how are they dirty”Hahahaha okayAfter that she probably saw our table two last times, one being for the check. She then proceeded to have us waiting for 6-7 minutes for her to come BACK and grab the card from us —so her busser had come by and done it for her. When she finally came to grab the check, she literally non-verbally signaled for the card with her hands in the air and finally goes “the card?”Look- if you’re going to drink on the job, make sure you’re a functioning, kind drunk.Pasta was great.“
“Not only is the food delicious, but the family who owns Pomodoro E Mozzarella are the nicest people. They go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. They even ran out to get milk for my daughter last time we were there. My family and I love Pomodoro E Mozzarella and highly recommend.“
“Finally was able to get in after trying for a while lol they're always booked so that was a great sign! The overall vibe walking gives old school bar restaurant with low lighting, soft music playing. Staff very welcoming from the second you walk in. The bar was a little busy on a Saturday night took a while to get a drink and by then our table was ready. Our waiter was awesome and made some great recommendations! Will definitely be back!“
“Small pocket of deliciousness brought to you by genuine Italian family with friends. The delicate taste of caprese with homemade bread was scrumptious. Fried & baked panzerotti:The bread was soft, the cheese was ooey gooey & the tomato sauce was fresh and earthly. None of that canned salty sauce. Definitely must try more when we visit again. Forgot to take picture of the shrimp & broccoli linguine but also light & flavorful. You must try“
“We went on a Saturday after Valentine's Day dinner and it was packed! From someone who's always rooting for retail and restaurant to work out perspective, it was something good to see: a fully booked restaurant. The hostess was smart and super efficient. Despite we had no reservation, she was able to sit us in less than 10 minutes. There are 2 or 3 vegetarian options (apart from the salads) and they're generous in their order size. Great ambiance with natural wood covering every wall, wooden structural beams, and comfortable dim-yellow lights creating the mood. Bailey, our waiter, was able to keep her energy: she was courteous, uplifting, and overall rendered great service throughout the dinner. The only letdown was our drink choice (pomegranate martini: it tasted exactly like Vick's cough syrup!) but that's a personal taste and it's on me. We loved the experience and definitely will return to try out other options of their menu.“
“Yeah, you might spend a bit more than at some national chain place, but Salerno's is the RealDeal. Fantastic Italian, - straight forward, fairly simple dishes done very well, and my (Italian Mother) would have loved this restaurant... many items seem like what she would have made.Huge portions so you can take home lunch tomorrow.Nice wine list we thought. My first time here, and we will definitely come back!Highly recommended for real, family ish Italian food.Parking: Just pull on, and look around!“
“I ordered a gluten free sandwich via GrubHub and I am so pleased with how amazing it was!!! I got the American sub and it was toasted with melted cheese and simply delicious. Glad I ordered two to meet the delivery minimum :)Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options“
“Drive through for lunch. Food was good, got the beef and Italian sausage combo. Making an Italian beef is an art form, Getting the proper meat to juice ratio in the bun is key. Halfway through the sandwich, it fell apart. Didn't affect the flavor, just made for a mess in my lap.“
“This was our first visit to this charming Italian restaurant situated in downtown St. Charles. Our waiter, Abraham, provided excellent and warm service. The restaurant possesses a pleasant ambiance and is meticulously clean. I opted for white sangrias along with the cozze Alla marinara and cozze gratinate. My husband ordered the grilled calamari and Linguine Adriatico Fruti Di Mare accompanied by a red sangria. This establishment truly impressed us with its exceptional and delightful choices. We highly recommend this place and will undoubtedly return in the future!“
“Been awhile since we have been herePro...pastas were decent and hot, bread sticks were warm, service was good our waitress had to do it all , took the order brought the salad and bread sticks, then the food then boxes and dessert , apparently short handed but effort did not go unnoticed..Con...salad was saturated from sitting in the fridge...Italian sausage was way way over priced for the size ( see pictures)But over all decent dining experience.“
“I recently went here for my friend's birthday. The inside is super cute, but small and it gets PACKED. Even though our reservation was at 6, we weren't seated until 630 for a group of 3. They have no places to really sit while you wait unless you want to go to the bar, but it was slammed, so we just sat by the hostess. The service took forever for our initial order or even to be greeted. For drinks, I got the Sophia Loren, which was very weak and then I got the Isabella Rossolini which was way too strong. There didn't seem to be a lot of consistency at the bar. However, despite the poor service and subpar cocktails, the food was super tasty. They give you bread at your table which is one of my favorite things about Italian restaurants. So delicious! To start we got the bruschetta which was light. You can tell the mozzarella was made in house by its freshness. For my entree, I ordered the Creste De Gallo Alla Vodka. I hadn't heard of this type of pasta before, but the noodles really did look like the top of a rooster's head. The sauce was so rich and full of flavor. The sausage added a ton of flavor. I could only eat half though because it was rich. My husband was very happy. For desert, we got the chocolate cake and cannoli. Both were super tasty. The chocolate cake was my favorite. Overall, the food was top notch, but they can work on their cocktails and service a bit more.“
