“This fast food restaurant is always a good place to eat in or carryout Chinese cuisine my boys really loved coming here and enjoy specially those days when we are busy and we have not time to cook at home. This place is clean. Food flavors are good. Affordable prices and friendly employees????????“
“This location has the freshest food every time i come and visit. The ragoons are absolutely made just right and a must have every time I come. Staff is very friendly and everything fairly clean even the restrooms. I prefer to come to this location rather than the one closest to me because again the food is always top notch.“
“I had never tried southeast Asian cuisine. Even though I don’t know how they’re supposed to taste, I can tell the food is deliciously made!! It’s delicious as take out but it is even more amazing when you dine in and the food is piping “
“Had a great experience my first time here. Food was delicious, portions were huge, and the service was phenomenal!! Service is what really stood out to me. Also they were very fast and gave a complimentary cookie and fortune cookie with the check. Highly recommended ! Try the combination rice can't go wrong.“
“I have driven by this restaurant for 3 years and finally tried it. I wish I would have stopped sooner. A gem of a restaurant, with amazing food and great service. I am a sucker for breakfast so when I saw that they serve it until 230, I had to try. The Alaska Benedict was TO DIE FOR!! The Wasabi hollandaise was such a surprisingly delightful taste. The cucumbers and lemon added a flavor and crunch that I never knew I needed in my benedict. It also came with potatoes and brussel sprouts that blew me away. Seriously, you have to try it. I also ordered a Philly roll and it was the best I've had. The smoked salmon on the Benedict and the roll was so good. The breakfast menu looks fantastic, along with the regular menu. I absolutely will be returning, I need to make up for lost time!“
“We have been searching for decent “Chinese” food since moving to mchenry 8 months ago and NOTHING in the area was even close to being good. This was the first time I’ve had it since moving and I can FINALLY say we found the place. The egg rolls were so good, which is usually my biggest test on a place! The beef egg food young was also great, no big chunks of onions either. It was a good portion of ingredients, and the flavor was spot on. My husband had the chicken fried rice and orange chicken and he said it was really good - he usually says “it was fine” whenever we get Chinese, so this is a big compliment coming from him. The service getting the food was quick and still warm when we got it. I do remember coming here years ago, and remember it being really a great atmosphere and really good. So luckily with Uber Eats, we were able to have it delivered. I am thrilled to say I FINALLY found my go to spot!!!!“
“First time visit for husband and I to Yen Yen on recommendation of friend. Our favorite Chinese restaurant here in Des Plaines closed last year and we are looking for new favorite place. Yen Yen will definitely be our place to go., We went at lunch time. The menu is extensive, but we ordered our usual favorites of Sweet Sour Chicken and Beef Chop Suey. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, with all the ingredients we love. Our server was friendly and helpful in navigating the menu pages. The seating area is pleasant. Everyone was extremely welcoming when we entered and also attentive when we left. We will certainly return, and with our family members also.“
“I’m always excited about their stir fry bar! I’ve been here a couple of times. Pre covid this place was amazing and one of my favorite spots. When they reopened after Covid, it was meh. There was no stir fry bar and the food was subpar.I’m glad I visited again, and they are absolutely back in their game and were delivering delicious food! Stirfry bar is back and the food was divine. I tried green curry and yellow curry as sauces with thick flat noodles with Shrimp and it was amazing! Would recommend trying green curry and Penang if you like Spicy.Place was packed on Saturday night, reserve ahead if you can.“
“Yesterday I ordered for the first time food from here , my experience was great Phone order was easy and fast Food was ready in 10 minutes Singapore chow mein fun was generous and delicious with a perfect balance of ingredients Also ordered combination fried rice and was also delicious and good quality Thank you again and I will love to come back Note : I ordered Singapore chow mein fun from another restaurant in barrigton called Chinese palace and was full of oil and they were cheap with the meat , and gave me heartburn that is the reason I drove farther and I'm happy with the food provided“
“This take out Chinese restaurant is so yummy. There dishes are freshly made. When they say spicy be careful you can have your spice level adjusted, just ask.Great crab ragoons and egg rolls. Kung pow is good and love the loew main.Friendly gentleman at front and answers phone. This place has been around for a long time for a reasonVery large portions.“
“The best egg rolls in the Chicagoland area. I get around for good Chinese and can say a great egg roll is hard to find, but look no further! I usually get an order of BBQ pork and an order of egg rolls. The BBQ pork when it's good, it's great, but when it's not... Sometimes it's really tough/chewy...The rest of the food is great, and portions are great for the price.Unfortunately since covid, they are carry out only.“
“My favorite Chinese restaurant closed a few years back and i didn't wanna try another place. My dad recommended this one to me and i tried it for the first time a couple months back and I CANT STOP ORDERING!! The food is delicious and you get your moneys worth for sure!! They were not in my delivery range and my coworkers and myself wanted it for lunch and we work in a hospital. They were so kind enough to deliver it to us. The lunch specials rock. Lots of food and you even have some for leftovers. Very fresh. 10/10“
“This restaurant has very good lunch specials. They are very extensive and include soup. Fried rice and spring rolls. I had Mongolian combo which had Chicken, beef and shrimp,It included Hot and Sour soup and fried rice. The good quality was very good. I definitely will be returning and looking forward to trying other menu items.“
“The people running this place are so kind and nice.Everytime we've come here, the food comes out so fast and tastes amazing!100% recommend cherry pork and their amazing crunchy egg rolls, best I've had!Look forward to our next visit.“
“Panda Chinese Restaurant is an outstanding restaurant located in Grayslake. I frequently order the General Tso's combination plate for takeout. Typically the order only takes about 10 minutes to make if you order from home. The service is friendly and quick. They have a lot to offer on their menu, so if you are in the area I highly recommend!“
“BEST Chinese take out in the areaWheelchair accessibility: I happen to be disabled & this is VERY frustrating, to say the least.Unfortunately, it is a shared parking lot with only 1 handicapped stall for the ENTIRE lot, that is NOT this establishment's fault in the slightest“
“Despite its small and minimal interior that may not be conducive to dining in. While the prices may be a tad higher compared to fast-food options like Panda Express, the authenticity of the cuisine makes it worth the expense. Although the service may not be exceptional, it's not necessarily a deterrent, especially if one anticipates it. Having visited twice now, I've found that the quality of the food remains consistently good, which speaks to the restaurant's commitment to delivering delicious dishes. While I wouldn't recommend dining in due to the limited interior, this restaurant is certainly worth considering for its authentic flavors and reliable quality. If you're in the mood for Chinese food that's a step above the usual fast-food fare, this place is a solid choice.“
“My family highly recommends Bin Hai. Or favorites are the Tofu dishes and fried rice. Consistent and very tasty Chinese food. Fast and happy service by the owner. We've been going there for many years. It's grandma's favorite. We used to eat in, but they've been carry out or delivery since the 2020 pandemic.“
“We heard about this place from friends who said we shouldn’t be deterred by the reviews (which are dated). Our friends couldn’t have been more right - Excellent food at excellent prices. Delivery was faster than the quoted time and the food was so hot we needed to wait a few minutes. Definitely our “go to” Chinese place. Chow fun and moo shu pork are excellent. Great egg rolls too.“
“I was craving sesame balls, and I'm glad I tried this place! They serve 8 sesame balls for ~$5, an amazing price. Even better, the owner and staff make the sesame balls from scratch! They are extremely fresh, chewy, sweet, and nothing like I've tried from other places.Definitely will come again to try other menus!“
“Maybe it’s because we also run a family business that this place feels special to us. Kudos to the family that runs this place. It’s not easy running a business, but it’s so cool to see everyone here working together. The food is classic Chinese take out and it never misses. We love the house special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and steamed dumplings. We order that at least once a week.“
“The restaurant is amazing. The decor is very clean and tables are cleaned extremely well between clients. Paper coverings are replaced over the entire table. The food quality is unchanged from four months ago. The bathroom on the other hand. Oh do I regret visiting that bathroom. Dirty unflushed toilet and urinal and overflowing trash can. I told a staff member. If it's cleaned by the end of the visit I'll go back to full 5 rating.“
“I love this food. I can’t describe what I felt when I tasted the fried rice. It was like I was getting a back massage in the sun while drinking a smoothie. I would go here everyday if I can. The one person working, works very hard. This is absolutely amazing. I would recommend to go here any day.Parking: Great.“
“It's a nice place, plenty of table opened when we arrived, Sunday night and a week post Lunar New YearFood tastes good, portions a little small and ingredients for some dishes are lacking. Waitress was courtesy and quick, sitting was not desirable as it was "sit yourself situation" wish the wait staff will seat each table as it is more formal way to greet incoming guests. Ppl begin to seat at the booth instead of tables.Food choices were plentiful and menu organized very nicely. Prices were reasonable and worthy, moderately priced.“
“Like it says on Google, "it's okay". The place gives me new china buffet vibes from that AYCE Chinese restaurant that was closed over by Libertyville by the car dealerships. The food here is decent, but the pricing (and tip) don't quite match the portions of a regular takeout place.“
“The best Chinese food I’ve had in lake county. Rice , egg foo young and egg rolls perfect. I’ve tried finding Chinese food that taste like Chicago, and this is it. Thank you for giving us as customers what we pay for. Jumbo Shrimp fried rice really good !“
“Food is always delicious and the service is great. Can get a bit crowded during prime dinner hours but there's always take out if you'd like to eat at homeParking: Plenty of spots to park including handicap near the doorWheelchair accessibility: The curb has been modified to allow wheelchair“
“I work down the street from Chinn's for about 20 years and tried to have lunch there every opportunity. It was such a bargain and the food was so delicious. I don't think the fish could've been fresher if you would've had the meal on the coast or in Hawaii. the prices have gone up a bit so lunch is not quite the bargain used to be, but then again, everybody's prices are gone up I especially like the grouper, and on the rare occasion what I feel like splurging split the crab with my granddaughter.“
“Food was great and flavorful. Very good sized portion for a lunch special. I would recommend take-out though. Not the cleanest place. I was afraid to touch the soy sauce bottle or salt and pepper shakers. The table top was sticky. My napkin would stick to table. The smell walking in the front door was a bit off too. Friendly service though!“
“Usually in there around lunchtime. Lunch Combos and Specials have large portions, and each dish has a distinct taste. I've never gotten a bad order from China Kitchen. Good pricing for Lunch menuParking: There are 4 places to get food on this strip. Parking comes in waves throughout the lunch break. Not bad if there at begining or towards end of lunch break“
“After our favorite Chinese in the suburbs closed down after 30 years we've been hunting for a new favorite. So far, Heng Wing is the best we have found in the suburbs near us. Their egg rolls are huge and come with an option of home made hot mustard, tastes like a honey mustard blended with wasabi it's very good. I've tried a different dish every time, they all have been very good with generous portions you could easily split a dinner with someone or take leftovers for lunch/dinner the next day. My Hubby orders the Mongolian beef every time without disappointment. Note if you like yours spicy ask for very spicy. They also provide complimentary hot tea and almond cookies. A must try when in the area.“
“They have a wide variety of food. The sushi was good for a buffet. They had a small assortment of sushi rolls both cooked and uncooked with a soup bar next to it. They have about four tables with a selection of rice and noodle dishes, meats, and seafood. I definitely recommend going. It was above average buffet food. They have delicious teriyaki noodles and a dessert table for the kiddos. We went on a Sunday and paid about $45.00 for two adults and a child under two years old. Overall a good experience. I took off one star because some of the dishes were luke warm, but again, it is a buffet so it's not gonna be perfect.Kid-friendliness: Noodles and desserts that were kid friendly. They offered a variety of juices for my child. They have pizza as well.“
“Great food & a fast thinking crew. We went on a Sunday afternoon - the wait staff had called off. The crew worked together to take care of customers & made sure everything was as requested. Great place to eat & good service even when having to adjust for being shorthanded. We can't wait to go back!“
“My experience was both positive and negative. The food was pricey but well worth it since you can get 2 or 3 meals out of it. My wife's sesame chicken had an abundance or sweet and sour sauce. Too much for her taste. My shrimp eggs foo young was great along with the egg rolls. My pickup experience was terrible. The sign says "ring the bell"to notify them you're there. After 3 rings and 5 minutes with no response I called them to let them know I was there. They finally came out, no apology just pushed the order thru the plastic and sign the receipt. Not even a thank you. I trust this rudeness was just the result of a bad day and not par for the course.“
“me and my friend got two entrees with a couple sides. we were very impressed by the portion sizes and high quality ingredients. my beef mei fun had a lot of good tasting beef, carrots, bamboo shoots, lettuce and celery and mushrooms, all for $13. the singaporean chicken noodles has interesting flavor with a lot of chicken, bbq pork, carrots, mushroom celery and lettuce, all for $13. The crab rangoon is also VERY fresh and delicious, the accompanied sweet and sour sauce is also very delicious. We would definitely order from this place again and try the other menu options. The service is very kind, mom and pop shop, and they cook very fast in 10-20 minutes.“
“Hosted a lunch on a Monday afternoon for about 32 people in their separated banquet room. It consisted of 2 long tables, fitting 16 people each. They do have banquet menus where you pay per head, but it ended up easier to order a la carte and serving everything family style. Their egg flower soup (is really good, chock full of tofu, egg, vegetables, and even a bit of baby shrimp) costing $3.95. Stir fried string beans ($13.50) and Seafood double pan fried noodle ($14.95) had the very thin chow mein that my MIL and SIL really like...not all chinese restaurants serve this type of noodle and because it was served fresh, you can mix the noodle and sauce at your own levels to get the level of crunchiness that you want. Mongolian beef ($17.95) was used decent quality beef and had plenty of sliced yellow and green onions. Rainbow fried rice minus shrimp ($11.95) was well mixed and very dark (a lot of soy sauce used) and served as a good base for a lot of the dishes. Three ingredient taster ($17.50) was like a happy family dish with shrimp, beef, and chicken stir fried in a light sauce. Kung pao fish ($17.50) was good...this is the dish I ate the most of...the same sauce as the chicken dish, but I enjoyed it very much with the white fish. Shrimp toast ($9.50) was a hit with the crowd... I thought it was very greasy (deep fried bread...what do you expect), but it had plenty of shrimp paste and a lot of people loved it. Chicken wings ($15.95) was a bit of a miss for me...the wings were small and had been cooked so long that it was too dry. Pot stickers ($7.95) were what you would expect from a non dim-sum restaurant...mediocre. Shu mai stuffed with crab meat ($7.5) was OK...couldn't really taste the crab. They had Tsingtao large bottles ($9), the light lager went great with the food. Fountain drinks are $2.50. White rice and hot tea was complementary with our meals. Pretty much everyone in the group know good Americanized Chinese food, and everyone agreed the food was good. 20% surcharge was added to the bill, and each item ordered was clearly marked. It ended up being about $25 per person after tip and tax, which we thought was very appropriate for the level of service and amount of food that was given.“
